Wow the size of that Pomelo, what a fabulous place to visit. Amazing to see a full size mango fruit on such a young sapling.😍

Your nursery videos is the biggest motivation for me get my driver's license I'll have to say. Would love to pick up stuff from places like this. I _do_ need a greenhouse too though... Thanks for these videos!

Yes, this nursery is excellent .. they have a lot of rare citrus and the owners are super friendly. *Also they are only 5 minutes walk away from Oscar Tintori nursery.

Incredible size of citrus trees, just goes to show how huge citrus trees can get even when grown in containers. I can already see that I am going to have some difficulties overwintering some of my citrus undercover if I do not prune them.

Another impressive nursery Dom. Some of the large plants have probably lost their labels over the years although i reckon they will know what most of the plants are and if they arent sure they can just flog them off cheap to Plants4Presents 😉🤣

Yes, Maurizio, the owner, and his son, Pietro, seem to know where everything is … they also have his wife and her sister working there also . The ladies were busy grafting when I was there.

Gosh, what a tantalizing selection! Those mangoes are impressive. This is better than Kew Gardens!

Seeing that fruiting Mango has peaked my interest in the plant again. I imagine it's planted in the usual heavy clay substrate but they didn't look unhealthy.
@garycard145611 күн бұрын
@@MoebiusUK I imagine that one can use a denser substrate, such as a clay loam, when growing plants under glass. But as long as a clay loam does not have too much organic matter mixed in, the roots can be in direct contact with water without the risk of fungal spores germinating.

Wow, those mangos looked full-size, very surprising considering the pot size 😱. A very impressive collection of citrus. It does seem odd that they don't label everything, perhaps they have it all written down on a map/diagram so they can find what they are after when they are picking orders? Or like you said they are just able to identify them because they are so used to seeing them.
@MoebiusUK13 күн бұрын
@@PeterEntwistle Yes, they’re not as fastidious as Oscar Tintori when it comes to organising their individual plants. … but they do have some interesting rarer varieties, when one can find them. I was shocked to see full-size mango growing in those small nursery pots. Definitely makes me want to consider growing one. These were ‘Osteen’, I should have grabbed a plant from the French nursery.
@PeterEntwistle13 күн бұрын
@@MoebiusUK How much longer are you out there for? Or have you already got back? I think the palm tree company were selling Osteen mangos earlier in the year, I think Brett got one from them. I almost ordered one when I ordered the Fuerte avocado from them, but they didn't say either the avocado or mangos were going to be grafted so I didn't end up risking ordering the mango. I'm kicking myself now of course lol 😂

@@PeterEntwistle I cant recall for sure but I don't think the mango I got has a variety name on it, just says mango. It hasnt grown so much as a single leaf all summer although it is still alive

@@lyonheart84 ah, right. I think Louis and Nirmala had Osteen labelled on their mangos; I assumed yours was the same.

Are regular customers allowed to go into the greenhouse by themselves? I would love to visit Oskar tintori
@MoebiusUK7 күн бұрын
Yes. They're very friendly and leave you to roam, pick up and examine plants. Agrumi Lenzi and Oscar Tintori are only minutes away from eachother. Oscar Tintori also has a 'Hesperidium' .. This is a place where they show their really best specimens of each variety ... It's amazing. Unfortunately it closes early on the weekend so I didn't record it this time but I toured it last year.

Best time to visit is Spring / Summer ... The smell of thousands of citrus blooms fills the air and the sound of buzzing bees pollinating is glorious.
