Just started trying to get to grips with QGIS and seeing what tools are available for Geotechnical / Geological interpretation. This all looks very interesting!

Thanks for uploading the video and helping out with my query! Using the AGS Tools plugin really made it very easy to import AGS4 data into QGIS and once it's there, I'm saving so much time because the data can be processed and interpreted from within QGIS.

Glad it helped!

Great to see however cant find it in under the plugins

We've not released it publicly yet but it will be up on the repo soon.

@@burdGIS has the plugin been released yet?

It's available on github here: github.com/Ojaybee/ags-tools Testing and feedback via github issues very much appreciated :-)

Just one question. Why not importing to sqlite and not to geopackage?
@burdGIS Жыл бұрын
For non geospatial people we though sqlite might be more familiar and compatible with other geotefh software. As gpkg is based on sqlite it is very easy to offer both which we do in the updated version

Looks great - great contribution to the industry. Its not showing on the repo (on my mac) at the moment. Do you have a date when you are going to release it?

Thanks Judith, it's not available on the official repo yet but you can find it on github here: github.com/Ojaybee/ags-tools

@@burdGIS Seen your request below for feedback - seems to work well for me. Had a bit of fun creating some new SQL queries.

Great, thanks a lot for your very much appreciated effort! I wish this was available a few years ago. Would be nice if it could also read the former AGS 3.*. And is it possible to feed the output into a plugin like Qgis2threejs for 3D visualization, as borehole correlation is a 3d problem? By the way, the python engine of BGS Groundhog has an AGS3/4 converter to csv.

Sounds exciting except, as a geologist, I have never heard of AGS

Hi Tom, the AGS is an industry group in the UK established to improve the profile and quality of geotechnical and geoenvironmental engineering. It developed the AGS Data Format to share data between different parties involved in ground investigation. AGS4 data is now the standard format in the UK - but it's also adopted in other countries.

Hi Tom, thanks for watching and for your interest in this. You can find out more information about AGS4 data format here www.ags.org.uk/data-format/ And the seminar series is available to book here: www.eventbrite.com/cc/qgis-for-geo-professionals-and-ags-toolbox-2390579?utm-campaign=social&utm-content=creatorshare&utm-medium=discovery&utm-term=odclsxcollection&utm-source=cp&aff=escb Do let me know if you have any further questions.
