the clip where RM and Suga were being publicly insulted is on youtube, you can react to it. Just search "B-Free disses BTS english subtitles". It was like a public panel discussion thing that RM and Suga were invited to, to celebrate BTS's one year anniversary after debut. There were other underground rappers and hiphop commentators at the panel table, it was in front of an audience. An underground rapper B-Free wanted to beef with RM and Suga, he tried to humiliate them. For example, he made fun of Suga's name, calling him "sugar" even though he knew damn well the name comes from "shooting guard" in bball. Hence why in this song, Suga says "i'm far from the sugar" meaning he ain't sweet. And the "STD" lyric I take it to mean you can't shake off Suga, he's a pain in your ass, hard to get rid of just like an STD haha. But you have to remember the term "STD" doesn't any hold meaning in korea, that is an english thing. He's just spelling out AGUST D. That B-Free clip will also give context for when you start Cyphers #1 - #4 from the rapline. There is a subtle diss towards B-Free specifically in Cypher #2. All 7 members have had their huge share of of personal struggles, but RM and Suga particularly had it hard. That's why some of their songs have a lot of pain, sadness and anger. Not only were they targeted because of their underground rapper background, but RM as the leader also had to shoulder worries and responsibilities that other members didn't need to bear. Jungkook even commented that he knew RM often struggled with stress and worries a lot, but he didn't show it because he didn't want to worry other members. RM also went through identity crisis as a person and an artist, because of all the criticisms from underground rappers. He was also severely criticized for his looks, as koreans didn't feel he fit their beauty standards. He was bashed to the point where he actually believed he was ugly, hence why he wore sunglasses in many of their old music videos. RM was also the first member to start receiving death threats. And a lot of people asked RM to leave BTS because they felt he was the most untalented. And Suga having a rift with his parents and struggling financially, literally starving while he was in underground. Suga was also hit by a car accidentally during trainee years, injuring his shoulder very badly, but he was too afraid to tell anyone for fear they would kick him out of the group. So he endured the shoulder pain for many many years, while doing all that dancing. Suga also went through a lot of mental health struggles, like depression and social anxiety. Not to mention RM, Suga and J-Hope shouldered a huge bulk of songwriting, composing and producing responsibilities. Especially RM and Suga. They are more experienced than the vocalists, so they took up that responsibility. That's why the 3 of them are accredited to over 100 songs EACH. RM is closer to 200 songs. There is more A LOT more workload and stress when you carry more responsibility for the song-making.

There is an interview that Suga and RM took part in where they pretty much just had to sit there and listen to this jerk rapper (BFREE I think someone correct me if I'm wrong) calling them sell outs and girls and all sorts of crud. And the one thing I really want to point out about Suga is that he has been very open about the fact that his parents did not support his dream of rapping/producing music. So he left home and struggled financially (to the point where he had to choose between taking the bus home or eating and then walking the 2 hours to get home). He also worked for a production company and he would regularly get ripped off when making music when people "bought" music from him. Im not saying that others haven't struggled but, there is definitely a valid reason for him and RM to say a HUGE "F U" to those who stomped on them. Also, tone doesn't really come through these very well so please know that I love watching your diving into BTS and the boys! Its always a joy to see other people's reactions! 🤗🤗

yeah it was B-Free. Whose most recent news was that he was arrested for assaulting another rapper, cause the other rapper wrote something on social media about him 😆 such a fragile ego. I was curious as to how good his own music was, so I checked out one of his music videos....really bad is an understatement, he had some weird kind of George Michael Careless Whisper saxophone instrumental that I thought was horrid. And the embarrassing part is he was arguing with people in the comment section 😆. Apparently he was defending his "free speech" rights, saying he was just expressing his opinion at the time. But then he goes to assault another rapper for saying something about him? I guess free speech only applies to him and not other people haha. And I agree with you, RM and Suga had it particularly bad. RM as the leader having to shoulder worries and responsibilities other members didn't have to. He would often be silent about his stress, so as not to worry other members. JK has mentioned this before, saying RM doesn't voice it but JK could tell how stressed he was. Plus RM was severely criticized for his looks, to the point where he actually thought he was ugly, hence why RM is the only one wearing sunglasses in much of their older music videos. There's even a clip where RM tells the other members to get out the car first, so that the fans can see the "good looking" members first. And I heard this one story of a girl at a fan signing event going up to RM, and saying to his face that she thought he was ugliest and least talented member of BTS. To which RM replied "I know". Which just shows how much of a beating his confidence took from all the criticism. RM was also the first member to start getting death threats, people wanted RM to leave BTS because they felt he was ugly and the least talented. And Suga was hit by a car accidentally during trainee years, but was too afraid to tell anyone for fear they would kick him out of the group. So he endured the shoulder pain for years and years, while having to do so much dancing. Plus his struggles with mental health like depression and social anxiety. Also, the fact that RM, Suga and J-Hope shouldered a huge bulk of the songwriting, composing and producing responsibilities is very overlooked. RM and Suga particularly had the most experience, so they carried the load for song-making. There is a lot more workload and stress when you are more responsible for the song-making. Literally nothing else can come afterwards if you can't get the songs made, and made well. It is a lot of pressure.

When ever there is a music video, checking that with lyrics is ofc good. But the many songs dont have music videos and then its good to use doolset 👍 I do like lyric videos cause I can see what is said at what part of the song. There is few good channels and check that they are claimed. Cause many lyric videos do get copyright claimed these days, so the money does go to Bts still also. @@tinaaikaa77 Hi 👋 I think one of the reasons why channels like Jaeguchi, Zaty Farhani and the like are so popular generally, is because they don't just do lyric videos for BTS songs, but also for other Korean artists, its like a one stop shop, so its not just people watching/subscribing for their BTS videos, though they get a lot of views too. It saddens me that their seem to be so many people who are either ignorant or don't care about the incorrect lyrics and how they take copyright and effectively steal from Hybe/BTS and other artists and companies, which to be honest bothers me the most. I have realised recently there are many popular reactors, BTS specific and those who react to other Korean music too who do use those channels. I find it hard to believe that the reactors (particular those that do BTS) do not know about them. I left some comments on Bryan's Stay Alive video with the below but in case you dont know about the detail and the youtube videos available that exposed it, I'm going to share here as well. Popular lyric channels such as Jaeguchi, Zaty Farhani, Lemoring and Random_k don't just have poor English translation but apparently some channels have incorrect Hangul but worse they take (or have done so in the past) 100% of copyright in the case of Jaeguchi or up to 50% in some other cases. I like you had heard about this but did not understand the extent or exactly how they do it. You mentioned that KZbin is quite strict about copyright these days - maybe thats right, but I wonder if like I was, you are not aware of the methods these channels use to avoid getting caught or to allow them to take copyright 🤔. With some it is more obvious, like Zaty Farhani who adds a piece of music at the end of the actual song which it is understood they own or have affiliation with, then they claim it and get to split the copyright. The way that I have learnt Jaeguchi do it though is so particular that you cannot as a viewer tell by looking at their video or channel, but would need to download then re upload their video to youtube to see - and one of the particular ways they get copyright in some cases is to take it for an image they have used in the video. The detail is better explained by the videos / channels I found on KZbin though which i will share below. So from their videos I have watched the detail was uncovered by a channel called ZaerApollo 🤯. It is absolutely disgusting and I don't think any BTS ARMY or any other Korean music fans should be using them. I would definetly recommend watching ZaerApollo's videos as they have the actual detail but Ive seen there's a couple of other channels that have done their own video with reference to ZaerApollo's and to help promote it. Theres one that I think did some more succinct videos (than ZaerApollos) but they don't go into all of the detail - the channel is CarKpop. They don't explain as much about Jaeguchi or their method but I think their 3rd video gives some good info about Zaty Farhani and a few other channels and what they do. I'll link these videos below as well. ZaerApollo is the one who investigated and uncovered the particulars (even receiving emails from Zaty Farhani with details about emails between Jaeguchi and Zaty Farhani) and an attempted explanation from Jaeguchi. They have the following 5 videos that explain everything - I've listed them all in release order below. Some are quite long (around 30 mins) but others only 10 minutes or so, but I highly recommend watching them all for the full awareness. The detail is mindblowing 🤯 - but if you are short on time you can still understand by just listening to the videos. @ destructive media, this is from Augst D his first mixtape you can say that Min YoonGi has three personas 1. The birth name “Min YoonGi” 2. The name he goes by when he performs with BTS “ SUGA “ , 3. When performing as a solo artist “ Augst D” ! By the way Augst D is “Suga” spelled backwards” t D” Daegu Town is where he is from and also his underground hip hop crew’s name before he debuted with BTS when he was part of the Korean underground hip-hop scene just like RM who also is part of the underground hip-hop scene! this video is a representation of who he is as a solo artist but who he is also as a person who gets a lot of hate because in the beginning RM and Suga received a lot of hate from the other underground rappers because they decided to go main stream and become K-pop idols. RM in particular spoke about the comments that he was reading online about him personally as well as Suga and the two difference between those two BTS members are very different RM said well I’ll prove it to you that I can do it I can make it ! Suga says I don’t give a F I’m gonna make it regardless of what you say! And he also said I have proof and he raps about it in the song Agust D! If you really want to break down the rap line and how they address their haters ; there are four Cyphers 1-4 that’s a rap line “RM , Suga & J-Hope” perform there is only color-coded lyrics that will show you each members line you can also see the 2017 live Cypher medley that will also show you their performance as they’re rapping to their haters!!!! Now this is totally up to you if you wanna go down this route to understand the rapline addressing their haters like for instance RM confrontation with the haters and his “JOKE“ MV more or less it was a lot of colorful wordplay historical referencing and pretty much double entendres and that’s pretty much what the rap line will do in the Cyphers! 💜🙏🏼 I really like your channel can’t wait to see more of your BTS Journey💜

Him spelling name is important I think, bc it is first song, it is from 2016, so BTS wasn't that big then yet but getting there, and this was his introduction to world as Agust D so it is really fitting. And it was song that was like single, promotion for mixtape, even if it was free thing on soundcluod. But to be fair I like another songs from "Agust D" mixtape more, like "Give it to me" (have MV too), "Tony Montana" or "724148". And STD part that can be seen as double, bc of all this choures is a little sexual, but I think it is important to remember that he is not english speaking person even if he know a lot, understands a lot and have parts of lyrics in english, etc. STD is not name that is fimilar outsite english speaking countries, but of course I don't know what he mean if it is double or it is simply fitting in beat better, spelling that way. I only speaking as not english speaking person that I also didn't really knew meaning of "STD" at first, and bc of this when I heard this song I never get this connection, after watching people that their first language is english I knew this, it is not something you learn when you are learning english it is something you hear later. And the ending (which is the beginning of another song), with the container thrown on the road and chaos all around mimicks what he intended to do: destroy prejudice and the emptiness of being called just k-pop or just pop, because they will ultimately be uncontainable.

Hi Bryan, Thanks for another excellent video. 👏👌 Glad you just went straight into the MV rather than doing a lyric video. Again I think you can just play them through more than once so you can take in the lyrics and everything else. It's hard to concentrate on lyrics and whats going on on-screen at the same time (at least for me). I think you will find a need (or want) to watch through MV's more than once when you do more of their group MV's that have choreo, different scenes and a lot more going on visually. A lot of the fun with those (as well as the great lyrics) is watching the choreo and their facial expressions. Obviously you can watch more in your own time but I and im sure others would enjoy watching you watch more than once. That way you can experience the flow of the song and the visuals uninterrupted and can react to those as well as reading the lyrics. "Hey ho" 🎵 that's the part I always remember from this song 😄 I enjoy it but I also prefer Daechwita. For me I enjoy Daechwita more for general listening enjoyment and fun as well as Tony Montana. For Tony Montana I prefer the version featuring Jimin instead of the original featuring Yankie. Suga and Jimins live performance of it together is an iconic performance from their third Muster. So when you get to that one I suggest you hear both, but watch the live performance from Suga and Jimin - I love Jimin rapping in it and the whole performance is incredibly hype on the stage 🔥Might be more of a thing for you when you have seen and heard more from Jimin first though. I enjoy the lyrical content /messages of these Agust D songs the most (as well as the sound): Strange (Feat. RM) People, Set Me Free, The Last, So Far Away (Feat. Suran) - he recorded a version of this Featuring Jin and Jungkook instead of Suran which I prefer more, again you've got to listen to both as they sound so different.

Agust D The Last. Is my favorite solo song by Suga. He lays it all out in that one.

If you watch SUGA's Give it to Me next then watch the interview with him explaining the meaning and his plan for the Daechwita you'll see the connection between these 3 MV's

I respect you not giving views to lyric videos, you are so right about them making money off someone else's work and not even bothering to put in effort in the translations. and its frustrating to see the wrong lyrics and the interpretations. I see lots of people recommending Agust D The Last. I recommend it too, its what made me an Agust D fan, and some insight into the artist himself. But unfortunately there is no official music video or anything with lyrics. So if you do want to check it out I recommend a vid that is translated by a korean complete with all the cultural context and breaks down some of the metaphors and imagery. kzbin.info/www/bejne/nHWleWusa9eHfKc

I really think you’d enjoy The Last, Nevermind, and First Love (esp. the live performance of this one) by Suga/AGUSTD. Perhaps Moonchild by RM as well. Try dipping your toes more into songs by the rapline and also all 7 of them too whenever you feel comfortable - they have a vast discography. I have a few songs in mind but I won’t overwhelm you with more suggestions just yet. ARMY will always be here to recommend you songs along the way. :)

AGUS= suga backwards TD= town D (Daegu Town)- it's his hometown. this name is a backwards spelling.

Suga & RM of BTS got a lot of criticism from the hip/hop, and rap community when they became idols. Some of their earlier mixtapes basically clapped back at those folks. "Agust d" expression doesn't have anything to do with STD. It is a combination of reversing SUGA to AGUS and combining them with his hometown DT (D Town).

OK, watched! Hehe, glad you liked it! By the way, the MV continues in Give it to me one :) MVs with captions are fine, they don't have background info as doolset and sometimes they simplify for intl understanding. So you don't need doolset (or bangtan subs) 100%, but it'd be nice FOR YOU to read it anyway off-camera ;) May I...? I have an interpretation of the MV (again, that has a follow-up that completes my? theory). The truck/trailer is Kpop, inside it he is restrained, he'll break free after many turns and everything starts collapsing inside, that's when he finally looks out of the window (to other genres and countries?) and decides to step out. He does and calmly sits on top of it, while that truck continues moving, he is always on top letting it carry him elsewhere/anywhere. (summary) Kkeut! (means the end :P)

Yes, 'h' in 'hyung' is pronounced. (It's weak, so you don't need to make a rough sound, though :-)) The kinship terms in Korean are very rich and so complicated. Sometimes I myself ask my sister how I can call a new family member (when someone in my family gets married) :-))))

I hope you can react D-2 by Agust D as a whole mixtape (inlc. Daechwita). For me D-2 is a really good mixtape. You can sense the growth of Suga from D-1 to D-2 in every aspect of his artistry: lyrics, beats melody, etc.. thank you from the reaction 😉

August d...is Suga spelt backwards with TD the area of Taejeon-dong were he is from in Korea....And FYI..If a Korean is wanting to abbreviate the word for std it would be in Korean and not spelt in English.. Just as we would not spell or abbreviate to Korean, and they would translate it as ST not STD 성병 감염.. seongbyeong gam-yeom

after listening for a while and knowing he's spelling his name (SUGA backwards) + TD for Daegu Town, I kind of lost sensitivity to the association. I do think the hook was repeated maybe once too many times, though.

What gets me is that a lot of countries outside of the US don’t call them STDs they call them STIs so everyone getting stuck on that part and not realizing he is just spelling his name always makes me shake my head. Cause I bet the term STD had no meaning to him. Especially when he wrote this song.

What happened to Change reaction? Was uploaded by mistake? :( I always leave "pending tabs" open but now it says it got deleted. I had to deliver a translation for today so I didn't want to check youtube much (just commenting a bit while streaming different artists ^^U). Just saw your blizzard situation! Take care ;) Recommendation: listen to the new Epik High album, it is FIRE (no emojis in the laptop lol) I'm now listening to kzbin.info/www/bejne/oKjbapSfgNdqbas (Rich Kids Anthem) with Lee Hi (pronounced as hello hi, Ha-yi is her name). She's dope!

The initial Change upload got blocked, so I re-uploaded it until it was un-blocked then I deleted the newer upload so I didn't have doubles. Funny fact, the more views I get, the more Big Hit cares now and blocks my videos unless I "fix" them.
