The same, Jose. Just the thought of Yoongi, Suga/Agust D allowing us to travel through his most personal memories is profound and emotional.🥹 It takes a lot of courage. Some might not relate to his painful experiences, but as human beings with feelings one is able to put ourselves in their shoes (if just for a short moment) and feel the same pain, also feel happy that Yoongi is in a better place now.🫶 Enjoy the concert.

Jose, we are all touched, as you were, by this MV. He shared his raw, painful past with us. I hope this helps people have the courage to seek help when they need it. My interpretation of the locked door is that he hasn't quite reached the point where he's able to free himself from the past. When he does reach that point, only then will the door stay open. He will be able to freely come and go in the room (the amygdala) without being trapped again in the past.

Yoongi is a true mental health advocate. He’s doing so much for people with all kind of mental health issues and neurodivergent people as well. I‘m so greatful. Representation matters. @@Mikrokosmoslvr I‘m not really sure about him having adhd, I know he mentioned it in bcs video when they tried to do meditation, but I don’t know if he made an official statement about it. The thing is…even without a dark past and traumatic experiences it’s possible to get depression, and this topic is so complex and individual, every story is different and unique, It can overlap, it can change, it can get better or worse, or both. Adhd itself and the sideeffects like masking and stuff can cause burnout and depression and anxiety and more, and often there’s not enough awareness and knowledge about it…so yeah I’m very relieved that he is so open about his struggles… I catched it when I watched the glitch film. Symptoms of depression (+ anxiety) and adhd/add overlap. That's why it's important to get a professional diagnosis to figure it out. I'm sometimes worried that Yoongi might have undiagnosed celiac disease or another form of gluten sensitivity since he mentioned "digestive issues from flour-based foods" and he clearly has some issues with chronic fatigue which people tend to view as part of his "lazy" personality. He still seems to consume some gluten, though (like alcohol-free beer and ramen). Gut health is extremely important for mental health because inflammation and nutrient deficiencies can cause or worsen symptoms. So, I hope he finds a way to eat healthily. (btw: Dr. Tracey Marks, Therapy in a Nutshell and HealthyGamerGG are great sources for mental health education on KZbin)

Please note the split-second image of a hand holding almonds at 7:55. This is a reference to ALMOND: A NOVEL about a guy who has trouble identifying and describing experienced emotions because of a neuropsychologic condition (alexithymia). The "almond" refers to the amygdala, an almond-shaped area of the brain. Yoongi was seen reading this book in a preview to IN THE SOOP. The book is on Namjoon's recommended list.

@@suzy7645 Very interesting! After reading your comment, I searched for more information on etymology and found exactly what you mentioned! [Amygdala (n.) part of the brain, from Latin amygdalum "almond" (which the brain parts resemble), from Greek amygdalē "almond" (see almond). English had also amygdales "the tonsils" (early 15c.), from a secondary sense of the Latin word in Medieval Latin, a translation of Arabic al-lauzatani "the two tonsils," literally "the two almonds," so called by Arabic physicians for fancied resemblance.]

I think of this MV as the prequel story of the trilogy showing how the Agust D persona emerged through the trauma he experienced. Anyone one who has experienced trauma or has PTSD will understand that feeling of being locked in a dark memory. I think the room represents the place in his mind where his traumatic memories are (literally the Amygdala) and that he(Agust D) cannot escape from. The Yoongi from before the accident, before the trauma, the whole person that is Yoongi, cannot reach him, hence the two personas of Agust D and Suga that run parallel through Yoongi’s career up till 2023 when Suga shoots Agust D in Haegeum . I think of the smile that detective Agust D has, just before being shot, is almost a happy acceptance that he is not needed anymore and Yoongi will be whole again. The three MVs are a trilogy but a cyclical one. Amygdala is the start of the journey but that story only emerges at the end. Yoongi is indeed a genius.

Just my own take, I'm almost so sure he self-harmed at some point, I can't forget that verse in 'The Last' where he opened up about going to a psychiatrist, and the long monotone beep to the question that was asked "Have you ever ---------". At that point most people were speculating it was the doctor asking about this, and in the song he replied 'unhesistantly, I said I did it'. That was his first mixtape. But having that in mind, this song and mv just made so much more sense to me personally, the pen knife and the self inflicted injury on Agust D's face. I never thought about the reason behind the concept of the scar, I always just assumed it was to look cool in the MV. But it might be so much more than that. He's been so transparent with his personal struggles through Agust D. As someone who suffered from depression at a young age and had to face a lot of consequences because of it, I can relate to him so much. And nobody can imagine the amount of things he had to go through, the way he was feeling during all of these, no one at all

I don't even know how Jimin was able to keep himself together when he finally understood what his Hyung was sharing with him during the In the Soop filming. He has also said that these difficult memories sometimes need to be pulled out so that the amygdala remembers how to activate itself to prevent us from going through the same experiences again. He essentially has studied himself very throughly in order to figure out how he can help himself. He was basically asking his own self to help himself.

Thanks for uploading your reaction right away Jose...cause you're the only reactor I'm waiting. You know more about Yoongi's history than some other reactors. I have the same reaction as yours from the moment I saw the bike he's heading to. I immediately braced myself cause I knew what's coming next!!! I was actually tearing up while watching it cause now I'm not just reading/listening from all the lyrics about his life story....now I'm actually seeing it with my own eyes. Yoongi's pain, struggles and anger are all here in his memories....and it's not going away even if he wanted to. Even if he's already moved on from it and whose now emotionally stable. What I interpreted from the last part is I think the past Yoongi who was trying to save the scarred Agust D that was not saved...I think it's because that's his old memories, unfortunately the sad and painful ones stored into his brain that present Yoongi is trying to erase or escape from. But since it is his memories, we really can't erase or escape from it however we tried to. That's why present Yoongi...our Yoongi gave up from reaching to the door cause memories is something we can't just escape from. That's why we see the present image of Yoongi trapped in that room representing his amygdala with the scar on his face still. It only means that even if he's a new happy person now...he still have all those scars he experienced in his life. Yoongi was right, this is definitely the last chapter of Agust D. Agust D was his alter ego that was angry to the world and had lots of struggles in life. He said in his several interviews that Agust D is dead now. He's now SUGA . But the very sad part for this whole storyline for me....from Agust D, D2 and D-Day songs, Yoongi all tried to kill Agust D (which he did in Haegeum), but still Agust D remained in his memories. So he still remembers the pain he's gone through from time to time. I'm so sorry for this very long comment. I just wanna share my thoughts about all of it. And this MV really hits me hard. I'll be sleeping with a heavy heart tonight. But still thanks so much for Yoongi in sharing this to us and trusting ARMY!!! I admire and respect him more. I love Yoongi so much!!!

When Daechwita was released, he said he added the scar because it looked cool. But now it seems the scar represents his painful memories and experiences that put a scar on his psyche, technically his amygdala. It may also represent attempts at or thoughts of self-harm which he mentioned in past songs like The Last- “Have you ever (bleep)? “ And “sleeping on the bathroom floor” which can be interpreted as thoughts or attempts of su!cide or self harm. I got 2 separate pop-up warnings about self- harm before playing the video.

on the 2nd time i watched the mv, i caught how pills and almonds are used interchangably bcs the amygdala, the part of the brain that makes you feel things and regulates emotions, is the size of an almond, and the reason why they're used in the MV that way is bcs those pills were to regulate his emotions, so he is consuming almond after almond, amygdala after amygdala, bcs his doesn't work the way it's supposed to. once i realized that, i just broke a little more. also, the scene of past yoongi running ot the room, trying to open the door for present yoongi shattered me.

I think the "almond" also represent a book that yoongi was seen reading during in the soop I think. The book is called "Almond" which a story of a guy who has a brain condition called "Alexithymia" which makes it hard for him to feel emotions like fear, anger, and empathy. The condition is attributed to the lack of development of the amygdalae in the brain, responsible for emotional regulation. Though as yoongi said, anything is up to what our interpretation is, I think that's how I interpret the almond

This mv hit me real hard. I was already emotional at the beginning just from seeing him lying there but as soon as I saw the bike it was over for me. This is such a personal song on so many levels and I fear most of us don't deserve Min Yoongi's vulnerability but on the other side he actively decided to share it with us and for that I've the most respect and feel just thankful. I often joke around about how he's kind of my spirit animal because I feel I can relate to him so much but the truth is I just admire him so much - he's a role model to me in many regards.

I really love how beautiful and artistic this MV is, but what I love the most is how meaningful it is! Amygdala is such a beautiful song with a huge emotional weight... Yoongi had to explore and open wounds of all these traumas and painful moments in order to liberate himself from it and rebirth in life as he mentioned in the song D_DAY too. We know this process was not easy it all, it was actually really painful like he mentioned in his documentary. I'M CRYING 😭 It's already one of my favorites ever. Thank you Yoongi for sharing this album with us, an album full of really personal stories and songs that can give strength and help other people too. I'm so proud of being an army, I'm proud of supporting him. He's an incredible artist and a really admirable person. 😭💜 WE LOVE YOU YOONGI. I hope in the future you have days full of happiness and love because you deserve it.

As I interpret the mv. It's mostly the past that he "hid" and "locked". Afar from that also the feelings of guilt, anger, sadness. He couldn't get back and "save himself" a wishful dream he wanted to undo yet he locked them and moved on but the "scars" still lingers. The fear, pain and memories that can't be erased hunts him. Still he lives on it and "accepts" (rain at the end) idk Jose i still feel vain at this point. It feels like he's not finished telling a very long story. 😢 ❤i feel sadness seeing this. I'm still crying and feel lost atm.

I am honored to have known Yoongi as much as I do in this lifetime. I am honored that he felt comfortable enough with ARMY to share his pain, his insecurities, his heartache, his grief. I know we will meet in our next life, but in this one I am healed because he cracked open the vault of his pain to share it with me. He relived his agony so that I could get past mine. He will forever be my safe space. I am so very proud of his accomplishments. May he be blessed abundantly, over and above his wildest expectations. 💜

What I love most about BTS is that they’re not afraid to show their vulnerability. That’s just so precious. So many people are scared of doing that. It’s part of what makes them so relatable and endearing. Thank you, Jose. Been following you since my first day of becoming an ARMY 4 years ago and have watched your early reactions to BTS too. I’m enjoy this journey with you. Much love,

Jose, Thank you for your emotions and interpretations. I think we all felt it, and realized just how raw, vulnerable and human, this was from Yoongi. No matter how bad things get, we need to keep moving forward. There is a light, and we always have choices that makes us stronger, helps us grow, and define who we become. It's relatable to anyone's struggles in life. And maybe show a little compassion & kindness to others, because you never know what's behind the smiling mask we all wear sometimes. Love to BTS, Love to Armys. 💜💜

Yes! Yes! This is the reaction I wanted! Jose, just like how Yoongi trust us with sharing his story, I want to thank you for sharing your analysis and reaction to this MV..at this point I’ve seen quite a lot of reactions from different people, but yours is the best! And I think it’s because you know the backstory of the various scenes. The delivery scene, I had the exact same reaction as you..I had to pause and think if what I was going to see was what I was thinking of. I love how you used the words ‘he’s trying to save himself’. It made this song so much more heartbreaking for me. The MV was aesthetically beautiful, and the song was raw and so good! I believe this album is one, if not the best creations he’s made. We are so proud of how beautifully Min Yoongi has grown! Also, I’m so happy you are going to the concert to support him. I would love to hear your recap of the concert, since I can’t go and I would love to live vicariously through you lol. Have fun!

Amygdala mv really did a great job of visualizing and representing the fight/flight response, the wave of emotions, fighting the inner battles of yourselves, and the effect of the trauma. Honestly, it feel like that yoongi really understands the pain that we share through the toughest and the darkest times of our lives. I cried cause I myself was a SA/ s*!c!d3 survivor, and the mv really reflects my own pain and the trauma that I gone through at a very young age. The fears that I have, fighting my inner self, getting drowned into the void and the darkness, and me keeping the inner child in me alive and protecting it from the pain of my past. And all the sh!t that I gone throughout of my childhood. Yoongi is one of the most strongest person in this world, even when he himself gone through a lot of pain, suffering, and trauma in his life. He’s not afraid to share this with us and yes, this is a whole new level of trust that yoongi have for army. Yoongi deserves all the happiness and love in this world. Remember that you’re loved and appreciated, and that you’re not alone. Army and BTS are always there for you through the darkest or toughest times of your lives.

This is so painful for me to watch... Been in the fandom for almost 3 years now and I always thought of yoongi as a calm and a strong person. I m just realising how mentally strong he actually is... To write lyrics based on your past trauma, to talk about it all, to make a mv and share it with the world, he is so brave :( He trusted us enough to share this part of himself and I m just so overwhelmed.. he is an inspiration to many and I can not stop the tears

I love this MV and song so much, it literally breaks my heart just having visuals to the stories of trauma that he’s gone through in the past. I also think the scar is a reference to his song The Last where he mentions that a therapist asked him if he ever thought of self harm/su*cide and he told him that he had, that’s just my interpretation on it. I’ve always appreciated how vulnerable the boys are with us in a way that we share each others pain and I will be an Army for the rest of my life 😭😭😭
