Suga once said that he hated it when people knew things about his private life. This song really shows that. I can't even imagine the pain he must have felt growing up knowing that his mother's health issues started the year he was born. I get why Augst D is a trilogy and why he was so angry in the past when relatives said he would ruin his family doing music. He has such a burden already but music was all he loved to do so he was under so much torment. He was made to feel like he would not be able to take care of his parents as time went along. " in my ears I could hear the sound of my mother's life ticking away" Damn a tear slipped down. Part of his loneliness was that he could tell anyone about his mother and father's health issues in a prison he built for himself. I am so glad he has music and songwriting to take it all in and let it all go. Snooze is my favourite song that made me cry first but this song.... I finally get who agust D is, he is someone that allows Suga and Yoongi to be is truest and rawest self. Agust D has fulfilled the mission, it is done. Ps it was raining that day of the accident

The Amygdala also holds your memories and is almond shaped. In the pill scene he also has almonds in his hand. A tribute to a book titled Almond about the amygdala. Some people think Suga developed his Agust D persona represented by the cutting scene.

The song in itself is heart-wrenching, but the video hits harder knowing what he's been through. Having to endure his self-trauma and the pain of his parent's illnesses. On top of the fear of being let go by Big Hit, he hid the physical injuries he sustained from the accident during his part-time job. As I watched I also noticed the almonds. I think it's referencing the Amygdala. Which is the part of the brain that releases the hormones that we need to protect ourselves from stress or danger. It's also the part that controls our emotions. In the video, he is trying to escape the room (the memories) this is the function of the Amygdala where the hormones help us fight or flee from incoming past traumas and emotional dangers.

“Pill-poppers” in Daechwita vs someone taking meds for pain, etc is completely different. Anyone who’s ever taken meds (that actually help) it’s to make it better but the ppl with nothing wrong who take pills is messed up. Not all meds help which you see too and you just have to make the “best choice” based on your experience (the amygdala)

My take on the almonds. 1. Amygdala in latin means almond, in greek it was ἀμυγδάλη (amugdálē), as these two clusters of nuclei in the brain have the shape and size of almonds they were named amygdala. 2. in the book Almond the boy's mother gives him almonds to eat because she thought it would help him develop his amygdala, finally letting him feel things. 3. The Last - Agust D, here Yoongi mentions that he went to a psychiatrist back when he was around 18, he assisted with his parents, the doctor in that track asks "have you ever been (censored)?" (we infer that he refers to being su!cidal, or if he has thought of hurting himself or others, bcs if you have any experience with mental health professionals this is one of the first things they ask you), he says "I answer without any hesitation that I have". Once you say these words to a psychiatrist, they usually prescribe you medication. So the pills that you see in the MV are a reference to that. Now, why use the pills and almonds interchangably? Because while the almonds in "Almond" were used to try and make the boy feel something, pills are usually used to regulate your emotions and make you feel less, but also, as amygdala means almond, we can also take it to mean that Yoongi is consuming "amygdala" after "amygdala" trying to try and fix his own which is hyperactive. The song destroyed me, but the MV completely shattered me. I've had a rough life, Yoongi is the one who I relate to the most because of it, he, in some way or another, always manages to heal a part of me with every album, song he makes.

That car accident is the accident that really happened to him right b4 he got signed to BTS & he kept it a secret from BigHit & kept pushing himself for yearssss performing which led to his shoulder surgery 💔 that's why he isn't going into the military like others but is doing 2 years of public service because of his injury..our SUGA /bangtan boys came from THE MUD yo & been thru hell which is what makes their rise & greatness EVERYTHING & its why they went on to be & are literally the BEST IN THE WORLD #BTS_OT7 💜

The car crash did happen. He was required to work as a trainee because his family could not pay the required fee to Big Hit. He hurt his shoulder, but he was afraid to let the company know out of fear they would get rid of him. His shoulder did not heal. Eventually, no pain killers or therapy worked. He Eventually did have the surgery ( I think it was 2020) and he did not take part in any BTS Runs, Or award shows for several months. It is possible that this injury will keep him from taking part in military service. If so, he will substitute it with 2 yrs of community service.

Amigdala or almond-shaped body is the dark room in the young man's clip, in which all the most traumatic moments of his life are locked, his fears and emotions, his unlived anger and aggression, those emotions that could not find a way out. Amygdala at the first meeting recognizes all these emotions, anxieties, About her. This room, in which part of the injured and crippled young man is locked, will forever remain there, but the young man who has already gone through it and knows how to deal with such a condition/injuries and no longer experiences the same fear/anxiety on the other side of the room will never be able to open it. these two universes will always

i appreciate this reaction a lot. this is a far cry from the one y’all did for interlude shadow. i remember being really disappointed by the way some people on the panel were talking about that song. another one of yoongi’s gems where he was being vulnerable and in that one he opened up about his fears and the loneliness at the top that comes after success it was a really powerful piece but instead it was taken as just another struggle rap song as if he was milking it or something? i think it was the guy in the middle that said “how much struggle is left to rap about if that’s all he raps about” as if trauma isn’t a thing and artists aren’t allowed to use their art as a form of outlet??? it was a really narrow minded take and turned me off completely from this channel. I’m not trying to bring negativity into this now i’m just relieved that there’s some growth … yoongi is one of the very few artists out there who’s very real when it comes to his music and pours his entire soul into it. his honesty and vulnerability is what makes him special. i really like the points the guy in the green hoodie brought up. it takes a crazy amount of courage to share things that are this deep and personal for the whole world to see, bringing out all the painful memories and emotions to pour all of it out into your art is so brave. i have an insane amount of respect for him for that. Also liked the point y’all brought up about the auto tune/ voice distortion, we all know yoongi has a great voice and his storytelling is impeccable every emotion is felt through his raw delivery but he also sometimes want to implement other sound effects to emphasize and create certain kind of atmosphere. i’m glad y’all spoke about that. anyways great to see the growth i hope this serves as a lesson to not judge artists for sharing their struggles in their music bc it could be their only form of outlet and they’re self healing through that…
