The songs DAECHWITA, HAEGEUM and AMYGDALA (and their respective MVs) make up the trilogy that represents Suga's alter ego. They are part of the same universe and tell of the struggles between their inner demons and other personas. They are simply incredible, revealing, deeply symbolic and meaningful. DAECHWITA (traditional Korean march, played for kings, army movements, etc.), is the first in the trilogy and was an applause for all who hate him. While in the title song AGUST D Suga was full of anger, resentment and disillusionment with the world, in this song he presents himself with an impetuous but somewhat calm personality. Furthermore, in the MV there are two AGUST Ds: the one with black hair was the poor one (appears with 6 friends, mention of BTS) and the blonde one was the king (tyrant who kills opponents and dissidents). In the tent, a woman (reference to ARMY) gives the poor man the key to start the revolution. So, he and his 6 friends arrive at the king's lands without fear. Where they show the drawing of Bang Si-hyuk (“creator of BTS”). The king sentences him to death, however, even tied up and on his knees, he continues singing DAECHWITA. The other condemned men join the revolt, singing DAECHWITA. Finally, the executioner who was supposed to kill the poor man also joins the revolt, frees him and gives him a weapon, with which he kills the tyrant king. With this we have a metaphor to demonstrate the lower class “overthrowing the system”. Totally relatable to BTS who started as a discriminated group (from a small almost bankrupt company), who were despised and disdained, but ended up becoming the biggest Korean group in k-pop (true kings of the game). In the time of dynasties, the poor would never be part of the elite but today BTS who started small is the elite. The achievement was extremely difficult, however, with hard work, talent and determination they “overthrew” the dominant system of the Korean music industry (and continue to do so until now, overturning the arrogance and prejudice of the global music industry). 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

Eagle eye spotting our eldest and youngest members in their cameo. It kind of perfectly captures their sibling energy. They like to pester each other. But also, when JK was just a 13 year old baby when he moved into the dorm with the guys, big brother Jin made his breakfast and drove him to school every day. Jin looks after all his little brothers. Yoongi felt so bad standing on that person. LOL As soon as he got off, he was asking if they were ok. They were fine btw. A Daechwita, which you hear at the start of the MV, is historical Korean military music used for the changing of the guard, the coming of the king and the marching of the ARMY, all appropriate meanings here. There is an underlying story to the MV and two others in a trilogy (Haegeum and Amygdala) which is a story about Yoongi (Suga's) mental health journey and his traumas. This one has that underlying story mainly in the visual storytelling. In this one, the Mad King is his past self and represents his rage, paranoia, isolation and pain. The scar, representing his traumas, is fresher on the Mad King. The 6 guys and a woman behind the Peasant represents his BTS brothers and ARMY. He is no longer alone. He leads a rebellion and shoots the Mad King with a Colt ARMY model revolver, representing the strength to heal that he found in ARMY. No, Eminem is not too much for comparison. BTS rapline are definitely some of the best rappers, writers and producers in the game, globally. You'll see. He wasn't kidding when he said "This country's too small to hold me in." BTS really are global stars. They transcend KPop and S Korea. Thay are bigger (by every metric, awards won, records broken, album sales, streams, views, etc) than all of KPop combined. Their competition on the charts is the likes of Drake, Beyonce, Taylor, The Weekend, etc even though they get no radio play in the West, but they also fill the biggest stadiums in the world all over the world, like the biggest touring bands. Yoongi's global solo world tour in 2023 was the biggest and highest grossing tour for a rapper in the history of the world. He also set the record at the time for highest grossing single shows for a rapper. BTS brought $5 Billion in revenue into S Korea in the past year WHILE they were all away serving in the military. When they are all out next year it's going to be INSANE.

I'm not sure how much you know about Min YoonGi aka Suga/AugstD....but as you liked his MV then the following info might be of interest to you. Suga/Agust D began writing music lyrics and working with MIDI at age 11 and held a part-time job composing and arranging music at a recording studio at age 16. Active under the name "Gloss" (wordplay on his name YoonGi, which means "to shine") as an underground rapper in his hometown Daegu, He originally entered Big Hit Entertainment as a producer at age 17 and became the second member to join BTS..... At BTS debut in 2013 he was 20 y.o.... he is one of BTSs main producers/songwriters/composers and has over 150 song copyrights.... he also produces for other artists and has won awards for his work.... he is one of the fastest rappers in South Korea. Suga (SHU-GA.... from Shooting Guard - the position he played in basketball) ...... AgustD = SUGA + DT (Daegu Town - his hometown) Spelt Backwards Between his commitments as a member of BTS, Suga/Agust D took advantage of time on the plane and in hotel rooms after concerts to continuously produce, write and compose music. In an interview for Grazia Korea, Suga/Agust D expressed a desire to release the music he wanted to do without having to consider popular appeal or music ranking. Bang PD is the man who created BTS and helped the boys get their brake, the reference to the 2 sides the “king Suga” is to represent the music industry and record labels putting BTS down and the “poor Suga” is Suga himself fighting back against the hate that he and BTS get from the industry and media. The words Deachwita is traditional Korean music usually plaid when royalty or military are marching, having poor Suga head banging to the words Deachwita is showing that he is the true king. I think you're the first person reacting to this video who immediately found Jin and Jungkook cameo in MV :) I love you reaction here :) You're also right saying about beauty of the set. In my opinion it is one of the most beautiful sets of their MVs. Oh, and, I see you like Suga's skills, he is really amazing rapper, he raps in different speed, rythym, flow, but first of all, you really can feel what he is telling you about, even if you don't know the langugage. I am Yoongi biased and that is what brought me to him, the fact that I can really feel his anger, or irony, or sadness, or any other emotion he wants to deliver. In addition when you focus on lyrics... sometimes the message is literally jawdropping. So, the moment I saw how suprised you are at his skills is just golden :)

I love the rap line and all of their (BTS) solo projects but Yoongi is something else. There's something about his lyrics that just has an effect on me. Once you dive into his universe, you'll be amazed by him even more. Strongly suggest you listen to his entire D-Day album and RM's RPWP, even thou I like Indigo more. The location ( Yongin Dae Jang Geum Park) is a recreation of historical buildings from different eras that was constructed to be a film set. However, it is also serves as a tourist theme park.. MBC has used the park to film dramas such as Wind in the Palace and The Great Queen Seondeok.

Always expect the unexpected in any BTS or solo member MV. Always. BTS is not KPop. They are in a whole other level. True musicians and composers and writers and concept creators. They sing and perform every genre! No other group does that. And this is the only group where every single guy could quit BTS and become an International solo artist. You will find that out as you explore each guy's solo albums. RM and Jimin, and JHope have all dropped 2 albums. They are all so very amazing and creative. And "OUT OF THE BOX". So, again, always expect the unexpected with BTS and every member. Watching the Behind the Scenes for this MV is great because you get to see Jin and JK in hair and makeup...bantering away. A fun fact JHope rented a coffee and churros truck to be on the set for the cast and crew of "Daechwita." This MV requires an explanation video. It is so full of symbols and history and Easter eggs and rich cultural background info. Plus if you didn't understand the ending or what Suga's main meaning for the whole video..an explanation is a requirement. It's deep and very clever. If you haven't figured it out yet, Suga is a genius! I'll bet you don't know this. He has his own interview show called "Suchwita." He has interviewed all the members. So you will definitely want to watch those episodes. But he also interviews famous Korean stars and celebrities, and creators, and singers, and more. Suga is a very good interviewer. Very laid back. Please find out the order he interviews the members. Otherwise you'll discover some spoilers. He interviewed RM first as a test show with a temporary set. The upper mgmt liked the show. So they gave it a go. And they built Suga a very nice cozy set. Suga gets a turn. RM interviews him.

Korean traditional military music, Daechwita (大吹打) Daechwita is a music that was used as an accompaniment when the king came or the army marched in the Joseon Dynasty. The name of the last gun that Suga shot was "Army" Colt army model 1860 Ps:The name ‘Agust D’ is the reverse of ‘DT Suga’ written in the lyrics. DT refers to Suga's hometown, Daegu, that is, D Town. He used the nickname "Suga" abbreviated as "Suga" as he was a basketball shooting guard.

I thoroughly recommend you watch the shooting sketch video. It is fascinating what a genius this man is. Yes, well spotted, it was Jin and JK. As Suga bumps into Jin, Jin spins round and his fishing rod hits the back of JK's head, hence the fight. I also re commend the explanation video by DKDKTV. He explains all of the Korean cultural references that are visual and in the lyrics. If you thought Suga was pretty clever before, after seeing that, you will agree he is a genius. Bang PD refers to Bang Si Hyuk, the man that brought BTS together, the then CEO of Big Hit Entertainment. The drawing in the video was based on a quick sketch JK did of Bang Si Hyuk in one of the Run BTS episodes. Just with a couple of lines JK portrayed him really well.
