Agust D is the alter ego of SUGA from BTS. He is 1 of the 3 rappers in the band, and has already released 2 mixtapes ("AgustD" and "D-2" ) and a solo album "D-day", while waiting for BTS members to regroup after their mandatory military service, in june 2025. You can listen to "AgustD", "The last", "Haegeum" or "First Love".He has worked with Halsey ("Lilith") and Max. One of the best rapper on the Korean scene.

Daechwita is the most iconic masterpiece. All credited to Agust D, from storyboard, beat, and more, and ofc, his brilliant acting. AgustD/Suga/Min Yoongi said he never targets anyone, but if the shoes fits, then it fits. His dicography is mind-blowing.

If you wanna know who he's talking to... BTS have had hella people coming for them when all they ever did was work hard and make good music. I can't even put into words how much shit happened over the years but there's definitely anger there. A few things- The rappers came from the Korean underground scene and when they decided to join a pop group they were accused of 'selling out', not being 'real artists' any more, not being 'real men' any more because they're pop stars who dance. They really got criticised a lot. But clearly they had a bigger vision and it worked. Now they're some of the biggest artists in the world, and millions of people are listening to their music. The Korean music industry & media is very corrupt. There are the 'Big 3' labels which control everything and only their artists ever became successful before. BTS come from a small label which was almost bankrupt so at first it was really hard for them to get on tv, get interviews, performances etc. But the fandom grew and grew until they surpassed all the Big 3 artists, and some powerful people did NOT like that, and have been actively working to bring them down for years (fr the sabotage is insane). BTS were the first artists from Asia to truly break into the West and get to the top. When they started coming to the US a lot of media were very racist to them. Also since they're seen as 'kpop' they got stereotyped as this cute boyband with screaming teen fans and no one took them seriously... people don't actually listen to the music they judge based on image. In reality most fans are adults and we're very diverse. So yeah, you could say they have a lot to prove! Most of their music has a really positive message, but they have to let out the rage every now and then.

Daechwita is the first song in a trilogy. Second is Haegeum and third is Amygdala. He likes talking to himself in his tracks, figure sht out so in D he's street Suga vs King Suga, in Haegeum you have gang vs cop and in Amygdala it's more current Suga talking to young Suga. Everything he says in Amygdala happened to him, it's raw as hell. You asked what Daechwita means, it's the name of the historical chant the army sings when the emperor is walking around, Haegeum is a traditional two string violin but it also has a meaning of liberation. Enjoy! 💜

Oh you just dove in head first to the never-ever-ending BTS rabbit hole. May I say 'thank you' for using the word 'masterpiece' about this mv. That's exactly what it is. I've watched it over a hundred times and I always see new things. Beautiful work. As stated in the comments, Daechwita is the beginning of a trilogy. Highly recommend watching them in order as listed by another commentor. If you want to keep with Suga (Agust D) for a bit, I also recommend some earlier mvs: "Agust D", "Give It to Me". There are def more than I've listed. Also, after those, maybe you can watch the fan made mv for "Snooze" which is brilliantly beautiful. If you start to get really curious about BTS, one of the most informative videos is 'A Guide to BTS' by Taylor Mari here on YT. I subbed & I'm looking forward to seeing your reactions to more BTS. The story line was Suga’s. Company wanted to do something lame and Suga said, nope this is what I want to do. They film a lot of behind the scenes where Suga and BTS talk about their creative process. And this is much deeper bc there are Korean references that go over our heads just like western references went over their ( BTS’) heads. They had to learn the culture and look things up when learning about hip hop.

Daechwita (from Korean, 대취타), is a traditional Korean musical genre of military march, and originally the music is played when the coming of the king is announced. If you want to watch more videos by Agust D, I recommend Agust D (title) and Haegeum. If you want to give the bts rap line (J-Hope, Agust D and RM) a chance, I recommend UGH! and Cypher 4 to start. He and the other members were treated horrifically by just about everyone in the beginning of their journey. Some of their song address this issue to inspire and support their fans to never give up on themselves no matter what others say or think of you. They have some really powerful lyrics but some fun uplifting songs too. IMO that’s one reason fans love them so much. You might be down, but you aren’t out until you say so. ARMY!

Thank you for paying attention to the lyrics! The lyrics are an integral part of why so many people across a wide age spectrum listen to their music. This video shows him playing the time of the king and the poor commoner. It shows the conflict between wanting to revel in his success and succumb to an inflated ego and then realizing he needs to put his feet solidly on the ground and be who he truly is. Him and fellow members clapped back at their haters . They were addressing the haters over there mostly. A lot of their underground fellow rappers turned out haters, bad mouthing them on social media. Imagine up and coming arrogant rappers trying to say J COLE has no skills, he can't write for sh* t, he can't switch flows ,he only knows one speed slow. NOW IMAGINE THE CLAP BACK FROM COLE. WE KNOW WHAT COLE IS CAPABLE OF. BTS CHANNELED THEIR ANGER THROUGH THEIR SOLO SONGS, MANY OF THESE HATERS WERE ONCE GOOD FRIENDS THEY GREW UP WITH. SOME WERE OLDER RAPPERS THAT HELPED MENTOR THEM WHEN THEY WERE IN THE UNDERGROUND SCENE. ENVY AND JEALOUSY HAD THESE SAME PEOPLE TRYING TO TARE THEM DOWN. I knew you'd like it! Daecwhita (Da-chwe -ta) is the music played in Korea when the king was in town. It was during the jeosung dynasty Era. And his fans found out later that he is a descendant of a queen during the Era. They only play the music now on special occasions but in this song he is calling himself the king, king of rap, king of kpop, or king because he's a descendant. But either was it slaps. I can suggest more songs for you to listen to. I suggest agustd agustd and RM joke

please react to RM Groin, Agust D HUH ft J-hope use zaty farhani lyrics, Agust D what do you think lyrics, J-hope hangsang/always lyrics use af taehyung lyrics, RM domodachi, bts UGH live busan with eng subs and UGH explained by dkdktv etc etc idk if you want all the story cause its 11 years worth long as hell. but agust d is suga from bts. bts has a lot of opps. they are not really kpop because it depends what you think kpop is. kpop is not a genre of music nor is it a word for all korean music. bts dont fit the kpop box no more and they never really fit it to begin with. agust d is going at his/bts haters, other groups in korea and other rappers in the underground scene in korea. "is he like j cole" yes and no. bts admire and love so many rappers like cole, kendrick, em, pac, big, snoop, nas etc so they were influenced by many of them and they take hip hop and rapping seriously theyre rapping rapping always. bts write their own lyrics especially the 3 rappers. cole did a feature on j-hopes song on the street. jhope is the one most influenced by Cole. id say agust d is maybe more influenced by Eminem , Kanye, Biggie and 2pac. and another member RM is most influenced by Nas. bts do all genres they do pop but their main genres are hip hop and r&b and they treat every song like a hip hop song theyre very lyrical even in pop songs. they risked being blacklisted by their government for performing a protest song on live tv and for making a song/music video in solidarity with the families of a tragedy in korea. so their govt dont like them. before that they werent getting any opportunity theyd be cut from performing or theyd perform and the station wouldnt post it or air it on tv, theyd be looked down on by other groups theyd get hate from underground rappers because agust d and RM used to be underground. theyd get threats on their life multiple times a year probably still do. they wouldve have waiting rooms so theyd have to get ready to perform in the hallway in front of the bathrooms and people would laugh typically industry people other groups, announcers etc. and so much more BS like accusing them of faking sales which they went to court and proved they didnt. they were poor, in a almost bankrupt label and the ceo had 1 shot left and gave them the creative freedom to just make their music how they want what they want to say etc its been 11 years and now theyre paving the way for asian artists to crossover into the west especially the u.s. if you see any asian artists on tv, radio, at award shows etc thats due to bts success. opening the doors for asian artists to crossover. and now those same groups and labels and people that hated on them now wanna kiss their ass to get clout or ride their coattails etc when he says hes the king hes the boos you all know my name he means korea. please deep dive into bts dont see them as a boyband with little girls as fans and dont see them as pop. see them as artists who can do multiple genres who are grown men with adults as fans. majority of their fans are the same age groups which is 27 - 31. bts music is deep and real and raw and sure they have some fun songs but even some fun songs are way deeper than youd think. theyre very conscious rap but not always hip hop genre. :)

you probably won't see this but the video and music (and his history) make it pretty clear that yoongi is anti-establishment, believes that power is inherently corrupt, and would prefer ultimately that regular people are the best people in society and deserve to stand up to oppression, that fact gets lost in bts rhetoric (love you army) but he makes it explicit in many ways throughout his career
