yoongi is the only producer and lyricist/composer credited for this song! meaning he made it entirely himself!

It was filmed in Chinatown in Thailand... hence your confusion. lol And pretty sure it's "Lifting the ban" not the ban itself. first time seeing your video, enjoyed it, thanks for the analysis and good luck with your course and company.

I have to laugh that you were more shocked that it wasn’t Pho than him killing him someone with chopsticks. It was filmed in Thailand. He did all the work on this himself, no one else is credited. Exceptionally original sounding. Really enjoyed your observations!

Omg I laughed too. He was so curious about what kind of noodles it was rather than what the chopsticks represented lol

Shooting the guy was like "Daechwita". So many references to "Daechwita" in this video! Yoongi is probably one of the top 5 lyricists in the business. Check out the rest of the album. It is amazing!!! 💜

OK THE TRUTH HAS COME FOURTH. IT"S SHOT IN THAILAND CHINATOWN. HOW MUCH MORE CONFUSING CAN IT GET???? WHY CHINATOWN IN THAILAND?? And the noodle wasn't pho. It's boat noodle thai style... Regardless, I'm going for pho tonight.

I heard that this particular restaurant was something that was set up when some slaves were released / given freedom. Sorry I don’t know the full context but it blows my mind if that’s true because it just shows how much thought he put into choosing the location even!

Suga wrote, composed, produced this one all by himself. He is known for mixing Korean traditional instruments and music with modern trap beats and rythyms. It was a eef Noodle Soup, and it was Thailand. But it was China Town in Thailand. You should do Amygdala next if you haven't already. Suga said that he wants us to listen/watch the Trilogy. Daechwita, Haegeum, and Amygdala. in that order. I thought PDOGG was the hottest producer? I'm pretty sure his work is on all the seven Billboard Hot 100 #1's for BTS and then JIMIN. That makes 7 total. And then there are the albums as well for the Billboard 200. I don't know if you are talking about a specific chart. Anyway, I might be a little biased. But my favorite producers are PDOGG and SUGA. I guess that means they are my KPOP Producer Bias's. 😎 Were you aware that Suga topped the US Rap albums chart?

Yes we know both meanings of the word Haegum as in (1) it's a traditional Korean 2 stringed instrument that is played with a bow and (2) it means to lift or remove a ban from something that is or is seen as social or cultural a bad thing to do or say. As to Suga (aka Agust D) age he's almost 30 and about to start his military service he doesn't have to do it until he's 30 because along with his fellow band members he hold the Cultural Merit Award. The change in the law is referred to as 'The BTS law' even though BTS and BigHit/HYBE didn't ask for specialised treatment and they were NOT involved when the other other Kpop Companies used BTS name to try to get the law changed. When it SK government changed the law these same Kpop companies complained to the SK government that it's was not fair and asked them to change it back.

I don't know what noodles that was but it looks obviously like rice noodles, with speckles on it. If you look at the police car, it says Asia Pacific Police Union (APC), which seems like it's made up just for this music video, thus the typical old downtown district setting can be anywhere in Asia, idk, I don't really care to further research it. As far as the meanings in the lyrics about legalities, it can be quite ironic that BTS has already gone beyond KPop long ago, so it should not matter what he/they can or cannot do as far as what regulations & policies are within the idol music industry. Or SK (South Korea) culture & etiquette for that matter, although BTS are not that insane to over-offend anyone there or globally. They have already gone beyond these guidelines since debut. And we can thank BigHit & BangPD for that. Even Suga's alterego, AgustD, is not KPop itself, that is why going solo has freed him a bit more from all these taboos & regulations. Of course, the bigger irony is that SK develop/export their own entertainment, which includes violent movies/television, with zombies, blood, guns, criminals, fights, death, wars, innuendo, drugs, alcohol etc. or whatever else. It has also become hypocritical as well, though not only in SK.

The traditional instrument you heard at the start is a haegeum I think. The Chinese and Japanese would call theirs something else but it is a similar instrument if not the same exact one. (For some trolls comparing it to the European violin, traditional Asian musical instruments ARE MUCH OLDER than all western musical instruments put together).

Of course he wrote it he's an award winning Producer and he's also Song Writer, Composer he's a real Rapper not some 'Idol' rapper that doesn't even know the culture or Hip Hop and doesn't even write their own lyrics. Suga (aka Agust D) is a real Rapper who just happens to be part of the biggest band in the world. BTS. All 7 Members of BTS are Song Writers, Composers and Producers that's what makes them who they are. They had creative freedom right from the start. So every thing you see here is all him he even wrote the story board for the MV.

The regulations around violence, sex etc. portrayed in a piece of media vary wildly depending on modeof distribution. For example some of the most famous Korean movies are extremely violent (think of Old Boy which was released in 2003), while tv stations barely allowed kisses in tv series in the same period. MV's tend to be more heavily scrutinised

He use's traditional Korean instruments hence the Haegum we also know the other meaning 'lifting of ban of something that is forbidden' but then it's not the first time. If you listen to BTS there are lots of traditional instruments, beats, cultural references it's how for us 'Westerner's' we all went on a crash course through the music of BTS. It's how we learnt about Daechwita, Haegum, Ddeaneg and the multiply ways the Rappers of BTS used it in there Rap Ddeaneg and much much more. RM, Suga and J Hope all wrote their own verse for it.

Hahahahaha BTS members have never followed Kpop's rules thanks to their Company BigHit/HYBE and their CEO Bang Si-Hyuk. We love you Bang PD. All the members of BTS have shares in the company. All members of BTS are Song Writers, Composers and Producer's. This is our Min Yoongi, Suga of BTS aka Agust D. Rapper, Singer, Dance, Song writer, Composer the main Producer of BTS. He's even won awards for Producing for artist outside of BigHit/HBYE. This whole album is written, composed and produced by Suga aka Agust D. As is his whole album D-Day. They don't follow Kpop norms, they are more akin to Indie artists. Why do you think they hold the most number of awards then anyone else in Kpop? Then are worldwide global artists. Welcome to the Bantang Boys, buckle up you are in for a amazing ride.

Well it goes with what he's rapping about you need to read the lyric's all BTS lyrics are important they all contain real messages they aren't meaning noise like most of the Kpop. He's reinforcing his lyric's with the smoking knowing full well his MV might get banned in South Korean. They don't go by the norms, the do what they want that's the difference they don't conform to normal Kpop expectations and rules. Never have done never will do.

You should be like BTS Trend setters not followers of Trends. Following trends is for those with no imagination, no real love of music, no originality, it's bland and boring. Think outside the box come up with something a bit different.
