Fast forward to December 2023, I just purchased a carbon fiber version of this helmet from agv for $350, this helmet is probably the best helmet I've ever owned and I've had other high-end helmets

I've had this bad boy for a few months now and still loving it. Really the only gripe I have is the definite lack of visor options, no tinted, no mirrored, no nothing. Luckily it fits sunglasses like a glove (no, I don't actually carry my glasses in a glove, it's just a figure of... oh, you know). Of course, my helmet now weighs almost double with the added gopro, gopro mic adapter, cardo freecom 4+ and the mandatory mohawk XD

There are visor options! Just ordered my gold iridium shield with clear pin lock shield already installed from the UK for £90 shipped.

For sure brother. Also, UV reactive pinlock inserts are available for your clear shield if that’s more your thing. I like having options.

It is rare that in this review make the comment that in this version ax9 if there is room for speakers and in ax8 does not have that space, being that in the video review of ax8 named that the same used the helmet and had no problems in using an intercom device, it's strange that in this video in which in some way it compares the advantages of the new ax9 make mension on that po

I put some nail polish remover in the visor to take out gum dirt. And I am surprised to see the big cracks in the visor all most un usable due to that nail polish remover chemical. For everyone information never use any chemical to clean the visor. Just use soap and water. ...

Can you wear goggles with the shield on? He states they made is more difficult, but does that mean you should expect to remove shield to use goggles?

Not that agv has complied but they seem to not give a hoot about emergency cheek pads. Most are 1 piece which will include the neck roll. I bet it'll be a deal breaker for some.

I have an AX8 EVO GT Carbon, awesome, light, comfortable. But it is downright DANGEROUS in the rain... totally fogs up and rain drops don't shift due to shape... I wonder if this one has improved?

True story. I live in SF where it rarely gets warm... it fogged up on me every damn time I wore it. I ended up ripping the visor off of it and just using it with goggles.

Yea mine's bad for it but I do love the helmet. I have a AGV K3 SV too but I still prefer the AX8 for comfort.

You forgot to mention the most important thing that the new helmets visor support pinlock the old one is horrible to ride in the rain or cold!

I have a ax8, love it, just my main complaint is in heavy rain i noticed the shield leaks from the top, just wondering if the ax9 has a better seal?

You should get the helmet with the face shield and peak visors installed as well as the cloth helmet bag the helmet is packed in. -DrewZilla

@@RevZilla thanks,how bout extra accessories like rubber cap to plug the screw holes (i only got 3 on this) from my local distributor. and maybe visor mechanism (which is only "L" part comes in the package). Maybe any other accesories beside those two?

@@hadeiy Ok, so in addition to the helmet and helmet bag, you should receive a Pinlock anti-fog lens insert, and then a bag with the manual, 6 rubber caps for the holes, and then 2 pieces that control the detents of the face shield. Hope this helps! -DrewZilla

Do you think a Cardo Packtalk Slim would fit in this helmet? Cardo doesn't list it as compatible on their website, but only because they haven't tested it yet.

We haven't been able to test it either, but looking at the helmet and liner construction, you should be able to mount the PackTalk Slim. -DrewZilla

The two best options are the Cardo PackTalk BOLD and the Sena 30K. How would you say this compares to an xd-4 or the more road-oriented e1? Each time I stray from Dainese products I always end up regretting the decision.

It's a bit too early to tell for sure, but at this point I'd say the AX-9 is a better off-roader than anything. I'm hoping they come out with a streetable version like they did with the AX-8 Naked. Only time will tell. -Kraus-e

From both 2 brands you have super good things to say. Comparing both XD4 and the AGV AX9 Carbon. Which one would you pick? I'm a 50/50 off road/road rider.
