What is the nail gun for in the description of tools needed? Why wouldn’t you just shoot down the drip edge with the nail gun? Also the panels with nail slots can also be shot down with a roofing nailer. The myth that these panels need to move around gets dispelled when you put 2 to 4 screws in every piece of Z closure Directly through each panel does it not???

You really shouldnt use nail guns when it comes to metal roofing like this. And no, you have to put the screws in the center of the slots. Its not a huge deal if its not in the center but its always good to aim for that

@dnahulvey how do you expect the z bar to be fastened down then? The whole purpose of the z bars is to hold the flashing down without having exposed fastners. Take a look at barn metal roofs. They get a shit ton of screws put directly through the metal. How does that work? Why is that a thing then if you arent supposed to put fastners right into metal? Common sense buddy. Metal doesnt expand a whole lot like you believe it to.
