I didn’t know that before Duck Commander there were no calls made to sound like specific ducks. That’s just amazing. No wonder it took off.
@timmynormand48184 жыл бұрын
In the 70 s or before there was so many ducks you didn't have to call them. Just mallard calls were necessary

Jase seems to be the most level spirited and laid back of the crew, he doesn't get overly exited about much of anything, he just seems like a fun guy to hang around with and I bet he has plenty of interesting stories.

Jase is COO of Duck Commander, which in the real world means Chief Operations Officer. In charge of all operations. He's clearly COO and master engineer of duck calls. He should be paid more. Sorry Willie. Promote this man.
@brahtrumpwonbigly73093 жыл бұрын
He himself says that he gets paid and barely ever comes in unless they've got a problem. I think it is best to let the uninvolved stay uninvolved, and let Jase and Willie work out whatever they feel like.

I also make duck and goose calls. But one of my favorite still is Mr. Phil's duck commander. My father took care of Little Pecan Island in Grand Chinier,in southwestern Louisiana. He not only took care of this paridise for twenty years back in the early 60's into the late 70's. He built their boats,blinds and made calls on the side where I learned how to make them to. As a kid I spent many a summer months when school was out and school holidays. I'm now 61. But growing up I repaired 100' s of duck decoys. Over the years I spent there. I started collecting duck decoys when I was around eleven through a spand of eight years. I have several of old wood decoys and the old hard plastic ones. Around twenty dozen. I've had offers for thousands of dollars. But can't seem to part with them.

Gotta say they one fine bunch of hunters they know how to survive. Listen folks you could learn a lot.
@LoganPennell1234 жыл бұрын
I respect the fact that they are hunters but the way they do it i dont know if they could survive, its not very realistic in a real situation to have a variety of calls, a camo blind, camo clothing and high-end shotguns. They should grab a longbow🏹😁
@brahtrumpwonbigly73093 жыл бұрын
@@LoganPennell123 Yea, lets see ya survive off duck hunting with a longbow. Your mistake was thinking that they only duck hunt, and that they can only do it the way they do. Phil himself loves to disappear into the woods for days on end, and he isn't duck hunting to survive. He doesn't bring a longbow either.

Just for the record the mallard drake 'magnum' aka green stick of death sounds a lot better of a mallard drake.its louder and for teal the sound is a little more quiet than the 6 in one.the 6 in one make a louder teal sound.they are both good add both to your lanyard or put your ecxisting mallard drake call on another lanyard it does not hurt to have both on your lanyard but fore those who dont like carrying a lot of calls this is my idea.if you are trying to be quiet when hunting witch is key but you got ants in your waders or pants keep the 6 in 1 but it does not make a really acurate mallard drake sound.im gonna try both out this late duck season and let the ducks be the judge witch one sounds better

Hunting And Eating Wild Waterfowl Sometimes I do wonder how and why people actually hunt and eat wild waterfowl when they fly all over the country from pond to pond and to rivers, creeks, reservoirs and lakes. This seems to be reasonable to the unaware observer or un-observer , however many of these ponds are Sewer Ponds and to eat a wild bird that has been feeding in such an unclean place is not safe in my opinion. Our local sewer-pond has wild geese, ducks and other waterfowl in them a lot! Even with waterfowl in a clean lake may have just landed there from a sewer-pond a few miles away prior. Would one also eat fish out of a sewer pond? One hunter I met a few years back stopped hunting and eating wild waterfowl after he found a spent condom in its entrails.
@brahtrumpwonbigly73093 жыл бұрын
Well, Phil has been doing it for about 65 years and he's fine. I would hope you'd have an example of a water fowl hunter experiencing serious complications from eating his kills, specifically in response to them landing in waste water, before forming such a strong opinion. Seems good isn't good enough when putting up the pretense of knowledge.
