Great job buddy. I think the paint colors you chose looks fabulous and will look great around the other rc you have too. I am going with the moo team livery and unsure about the paint theme on my vintage one anyhow Adam its alway nice to watch your videos. btw I got ceramic Plaig Bearings in my Kyosho Optima Mid and it moves great now. Happy Summer Adam.

Great video, Adam! Had to chuckle at your line about how Associated should look into the quality of their parts before suing people. Very true. Haha I was tempted by this kit, however I was put off by the bushings. In this day and age, it's not good enough for a top end kit Fantastic looking paint job too mate 👍

Its easy to just get some bearing for it for like 20 dollar. Most of these purchases wont end up on the track or car park anyway so the choice for autenticity is right. The other more important thing is, that ballbearings are actually very easy to get about everywhere, while for those searching for autenticity can not just find the plain bearings anywhere. Dont hold yourself up by just the bearings, they are an easy replacement.
@RCACTIONAUSTRALIA
@RCACTIONAUSTRALIA 5 ай бұрын
@@vennemans9113 yeah agree, but after building the kit it’s price point you would expect an upgrade. Everyone always bashes Tamiya for bushings on a $140 kit, so a $700+ kit one would expect some modern advancement. But yes bearings are easily available to upgrade. In the end it’s a nice RC that deserves to be driven and used.
@vennemans9113
@vennemans9113 5 ай бұрын
@@RCACTIONAUSTRALIA it depends on the end user to see it as an upgrade as many of these builders just get it for the retro experience and they search for autenticity. I never bashed Tamiya for using bushings. When i bought my first TA03F it had them in for a few races before i changed them. But Tamiya is right for using them in beginner cars instead of bearings. In all comparisons between the two it is the bushing which will never fully lock up where as the bearing some day eventually will. In a car sold for parking lot bashing its a good choice to take. Most RC10's back in the day didnt race and were bashers aswell so it was a good choice. Providing autenticity on a rerelease is key in my opinion. Those seeking performance better just not get a RC10 anyway as they wont be pleased untill they've rebuilded the car into a stealth edition as they will soon be negative about the shocktowers material, original servo saver, weak transmission, weak ball diff. Hell, many wont even have good tools for imperial allen bolts. The kit is not for the general hobbyist to say it most positive. Happy to have them taken the effort to actually release it in original form. Which is very hard to do without consessions. 😁

@@vennemans9113 Granted, bearings are easy to come by. However it's still an extra cost on top of an expensive kit. In a market now flooded with great vintage rere options, they need to make it attractive to the buyers who are on the fence and are discerning with their hard earned cash. This is where I am. From my point of view, it's a massive turn off to have things like no bearings, or no paper manual (40th RC10). It's just cost cutting and it's indicative of the culture at AE. I am not impressed with their latest shenanigans either. I'm sure it's a great truck, it's just not for me.

Im new to painting.. how do you get that curve on the sides? Is it standard tamiya masking tape and you "bend/curve" it? Can i get the details bc you did a good job
@RCACTIONAUSTRALIA
@RCACTIONAUSTRALIA 6 ай бұрын
It’s the thinner white masking tape from Tamiya. It’s rather flexible and bends nicely

One other thing I found with mine was the slipper clutch assembly. I found I had to add an extra washer behind the nut as without it, the nut would be tightened all the way and the clutch was still slipping.

I ran into all of the same issues. These turnbuckles suck.. I used a heat gun to soften them up to get them on all the way like I do with pretty much all my turn buckles. Maybe this will help someone else out. Like the way your body turned out 👍🏻

Oh yeah, the body looks fantastic 😮👍 Shame about the manual; maybe not everybody will agree, but I kind of think a lot of later releases from AE were rushed (B7 gear issue, no manual on the 40th, bad protection of the body of the CC and the bad manual of the 10T). Nice tips on the build experience. Will there be a run video ? 😉🤝

Great vid, i havnt even started my 10t yet haha. A question tho, I have just started the gearbox on my 40th anniversary buggy, and i bought plaig bearings. There is a top hat bushing that looks quite long in the kit. Do i replace this with the flat edge bearing plus a normal bearing to get the right depth? side by side comparison the long bushing is the same as the two plaig bearings. Thanks in advance. Also internal circlip pliers are rarer than an honest politician.
@RCACTIONAUSTRALIA
@RCACTIONAUSTRALIA 6 ай бұрын
Not sure about the bearing question as I’m yet to build my 40th. The RC10T has a different transmission. Yes small circlips are hard to find

Body shell turned out fantastic!!! It's a shame that the manual has stuff missing. That's really unnacceptable in this day and age. Bearings should be a given at that price point but then again a set of bearings aren't that much. Great looking truck though and an absolute icon of RC.
@RCACTIONAUSTRALIA
@RCACTIONAUSTRALIA 5 ай бұрын
Yeah with the price point of these, bearings and a decent manual should be a given. Lucky bearings don’t break the bank but TA are definitely making some $$ and cutting corners
@BudgetRC_Channel

The bushings and manual issues are disappointing, but the turnbuckles, steering, and dogbones are all faithful to the original. There are enough upgrade parts out there if you want to improve this kit, but I'm glad that AE kept these parts original. I wanted the thrill of building an RC10T kit, not a modern truck that resembles a 10T.

Yeah it’s great to see them honour the original, and agree bearings and a correct manual should have been done.

Oh man - it certainly was a very rushed release, and quite poor QC coming from AE of all companies! Bearings SHOULD be in ALL kits over $200AUD. $650 plus with those terrible mistakes and no bearings- certainly cemented my decision to not purchase it. I will be grabbing a Agama Nemo110 at end of the year, where i can justify the spend much more.

It looks great Adam! I agree that in the end you are left with a a great truck and it feel like it will drive super well but the instructions are flat out awful! Like you said, nobody there built this kit with those instruction there before sending them out. I know many of us are kind of spoiled with Tamiya manuals but this was just terrible for the price of the kit and does not get me excited about throwing that much money their way for future releases!

There is a few schools of thought. Is it abit of a money grab? 700+ for a car thats development was done decade's ago. Then the attention to detail falls short in places. Supply issues for the 40th... But sometimes you got to think what they did get right. Authenticity maybe a plus in some eyes. Hopefully modern plastics to give a bit of durability. And they made a effort to release it in the first place. Im looking at you losi. I love the non box art. Well done
