How is it possible to paint the wing?! I tried yesterday and just couldn’t get paint on sides far enough on sides and corners on rear wing 😤😭 ruined it ((
@RCACTIONAUSTRALIA

A lot of light coats. I know the frustration, you can also bend the sides out to help get paint inside

I’ll have to try again maybe. But cutting and painting body been definitely least enjoyable part so far

I like the look I’ve had Tamaiya vehicles in the past and would love to go vintage and build another but finding aftermarket vintage parts might be hard now I would replace the plastic chassis with aluminum and oil filled aluminum shocks and shock towers a arms
@pluxtheduck
@pluxtheduck Ай бұрын
TF looks fantastic - may be stealing that concept for the shell. Quick q, were the front shocks here the aeration fronts or two sets of rears and wound down?
@RCACTIONAUSTRALIA
@RCACTIONAUSTRALIA Ай бұрын
Aeration fronts. I made a shorter front carbon shock tower so they could work. I think ppl usually use two sets of rears
@pluxtheduck
@pluxtheduck Ай бұрын
Ah, do you happen to have the measurements of the custom tower - might be able to source a similar one that would make the fronts compatible

All I did was by some 3mm carbon plate and made some prototypes. Traced around the stock one for the gearbox mounting etc… and experimented with shortening the mounting holes until I was happy! I think Tamiya did an ultra rare hop up at some stage but it’s nowhere to be found these days.

The back end rides soooo high. Im about to add the radio gear to my egress and I’m a bit worried that might spoil the handling. Thanks for the update video!

Hi there. Had a problem with steering rack bearings replacing them from the stock bushes....original bushes were super sloppy. Had to put small tiny washer under new ball bearing on the inner race otherwise it tightened straight down onto whole bearing...any ideas please
@RCACTIONAUSTRALIA
@RCACTIONAUSTRALIA 2 ай бұрын
I upgraded to the correct Plaig bearings and had no issues.
@rogergale3297
@rogergale3297 2 ай бұрын
@RCACTIONAUSTRALIA I must be doing something wrong because the standard washer is to large and would therefore tighten down on the outside race to. I had to get 3x5mm Shims to press only on the inners from kyosho. How did you not compress the whole bearing down solid when tightening the 3m screw down? Been trying to understand this because I have the 6x3x 2.5 correct bearings

Whereas some Tamiya products work best with the box art colours, the BBX is one of those buggies that works well in so many custom colours. I just finished my BBX in brown and it has a great vintage look. Check it out on my channel.

It is more durable than the Avante, due to its one-piece all-plastic lower suspension arms.
@perfectsplit5515
@perfectsplit5515 2 ай бұрын
It is almost the same chassis as the Avante 2001 chassis, but there is a small difference. The Avante 2001 has a different shock tower with no upper bar. And the upper front suspension link attaches to the main chassis at a different point than in the Egress. Otherwise, they are the same chassis.

I would say the biggest "issue" with this car is the large amount of friction in the steering mechanism. If the car is in idle and you are at extreme right and then return the steering wheel to neutral, the wheels on the actual RC car do not go all the way to neutral. They come close to neutral, but not completely there. You have to turn slightly to the opposite direction to compensate. The same is true for extreme left. However, it does not seem to be an issue when actually running the car. When the wheels are driving, they tend to naturally return to neutral. I think the friction originates in the joints where plastic uprights screw into the metal looping piece. It is as if having the ball bearings in the bellcranks does not do any good. Furthermore, it is a very small issue compared to the issues that other 4WD buggies have.

They should peel off, I find Polycarbonate cleaner will help with residual glue before applying new decals

Love this car! But would you pick this or a 2wd for parking lot driving? What is hard to roll over on pavement 2wd or 4wd? Thank you!
@RCACTIONAUSTRALIA
@RCACTIONAUSTRALIA 3 ай бұрын
It’s a great Buggy, personally either 2wd or 4wd is fine. A 2wd with good tyres and a nice motor combo would be a great set up. Traction would be king with a 4wd
@thunderbomb515
@thunderbomb515 3 ай бұрын
@@RCACTIONAUSTRALIA Thank you for the quick response! So the 4wd Boomerang would have less of a chance rolling over in turns on pavement compared to 2wd. If yes, I am going to order the Boomerang now.
@RCACTIONAUSTRALIA
@RCACTIONAUSTRALIA 3 ай бұрын
@thunderbomb515 I think you would have a low chance of rolling a 2wd or 4wd on pavement. More on grass if it digs in on the turns

I ran into all of the same issues. These turnbuckles suck.. I used a heat gun to soften them up to get them on all the way like I do with pretty much all my turn buckles. Maybe this will help someone else out. Like the way your body turned out 👍🏻
