Hey Brock. No idea if ya read these, but I am finally able to sit down and really leave what I want you to know. I hadn't heard of you guys until summer of 2022. It's incomprehensible to me how I just never heard you, especially my own music background, but here I am now, and I've been filling the void of all I missed throughout your years by several means. I know you did some heavy touring all around the U.S. and especially around 2003 when you picked up a huge Northeast / New England following. This was just 1 year prior to me and a few friends completely paradigm shifting our music tastes when Phish announced their hiatus and Coventry would be their last shows. Still, it would be nearly 2 decades before I would first hear "Three Weeks" and it was from your show (the description says 2016-7-12) that I cannot confirm the actual date or location. I see you played 12/7/2016 at the Fox Theater, but can't find the set, or recording of it, etc. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gZe7f5J5mc94qNU - this is the link to the version. When I heard it... Idk why it did, but it just hit me in a place I didn't know I possessed or even needed. Brock, the entire history of this band, its obstacles and adversities and adapting to changes in time is fucking incredible. You pushed through the dark to find the light in inspiring and titanic ways. Your acknowledgment to your own being knowing you needed to take some time to create better habits hits so close to home for me and I hope you always find that light. I listen to Three Weeks and Life (live) description says 3-21-17 multiple times a day. I play along several times a night, when I unwind from the day and plug in my Gretsch. Okay, so that Three Weeks. It is some of the most ridiculously technical work on an instrument I have ever fucking heard. I know Suttle has since left and you are killin it with Darren Stanley as per my last check, but just wanted to shout out to Suttle on that jam. If I witnessed it live, while the entire place was probably shaking the entire state, I would have stood there, in a state of nirvana, transfixed on the display of some of the best playing I've ever heard. There is so much fucking sound. So many notes. So much fucking fire and passion, you were all just blasting and holding nothing back. Matt is a fucking solo symphony. Adam is just slappin' like his body was taken over by the personification of the Bass. And then there's your guitar. Brock, it has had such an impact on me, and I have become so familiar with every alcove of that version, I learned it verbatim. A buddy actually found it amusingly awesome / hilarious in terms of just how much fucking joy I have playing to it. Every day I can, home and done with the day, Life and Three Weeks played through a few times begins my session. I don't play Three Weeks fully as that version is an insanely awesome 17.5 minutes. I play usually until the transition at around 8:10 or so. I've even based my entire what i call "baseline" tone for my own playing. I listen to it, play it, study it every single damned day. It's insane to me. How much time and mental and physical energy devoted to my insatiable thirst for music over decades and this one one, from an amazing group of players I had never heard of impacted my life. Your entire discography is just god tier. I play to alot of it, but Three Weeks and Life just overtook my soul. I am sorry for all this long text, but shit man, I needed you to know just how fucking thankful I am for you, and all the members who have come and gone, and are still remaining today, that is a legendary compilation of musicians that is PGroove's history. Thank you, Brock. I hope you always find the Best of Anything in this life. You deserve nothing less. Cheers mate.
