What a combination of voice, guitar, vocal and melody. And he was a great live performer. One of my favourite gigs ever was seeing JTE in the Bodega Club in Wellington, New Zealand. So poignant to hear him talk here of new found happiness. He will be greatly missed.

Found out about his music only months before his passing. Addiction is a beast and a battle everyday that one can easily lose. It truly is a damn shame and I hope/pray for his wife’s happiness. As someone that has personally dealt with addiction/lost friends and an adopted brother but also has lost someone I loved more than anyone in the entire world it’ll never go away. It’ll definitely get better with time, which is the only thing that I found that helps but will always cast itself over your head wether it’s ominous one day or partly cloudy the next. So I hope his wife is doing well. Anyways, I dig the way he plays a lot. I saw a picture of him from Twitter the other day playing a Recorder King guitar. I had never heard of the brand ‘till then. I think he might be playing one in this video but it’s a bit blurry when I try to look. I bet he had a bunch of ‘ole tymey guitars with this kinda sound. I bet they sound incredible when picking.
