Jin was roasting Jimin in that clip about his weight because they were in a game to make the other one lose his cool/be unable to respond calmly. It's a Korean game that translates to "Of Course!/Definitely!" where the opponents can say disses or trick questions, etc. and the other has to respond "definitely/of course" each time until you lose if you give up. Harsh, but you also saw this before with Jungkook/Jin where Jungkook told him, "you know we only call you handsome for broadcasts, right?" and also "you know your life is awkward, right?" etc. There are never cruel intentions and they always make up/laugh about it after. :)

yeah honestly even I saw this clip first in a compilation without context and I was taken aback because we all know how sensitive Jimin is (or used to be) about his weight and looks, but I watched the whole episode and you can see jimin cuddling Jin not 5 minutes after this scene so it clearly was a light joke between members.

Jin got dissed by Jimin, and got dissed by the members so many times and it's cool and everybody laughing (which by the way this is how it's supposed to be since it's obviously a joke) tho when Jimin got dissed in A GAME where you literally supposed to diss the other, all of a sudden it became a big deal and everyone attacked Jin and he got so many hate comments !!! Like wtf !!!! This side of Jin is part of his persona :) Watch Kim Seok Jin: documentary and you’ll have a whole new level of appreciation for him. Suga said Jin was his eternal/ best roommate so you know Jin’s a quiet introvert half of the time as well. He is, to me, the most multi faceted member of the group. JHope said without Jin BTS wouldnt be possible today. Jin is playful but never childish. He shows his mature and very thoughtful side when need be. And yes, only Jin can be savage with Suga coz he’s the eldest and Suga respects/ loves his eternal roommate so much. The maknae line embraces Jin as one of their own LOL

Honestly since Jin's the oldest he has the privilege of saying whatever he wants to Yoongi, including just cutting him off sometimes lmao. Also as many have said already, that clip of Jin calling Jimin a pig was from a game they were playing where you have to make the other person react to what you say. The members knew it was a joke of course, and later in the video Jimin and Jin are seen cuddling like nothing even happened. Jin DID apologize to him after filming though. Sadly after the episode aired there were some people who took the whole game way too seriously, and people did bash him for what he said. Don't be mistaken though, they love each other to death and they know how to take a joke. If any member is uncomfortable or sad they'll IMMEDIATELY address it and find a solution.

Their friendship level is at the point when mocking the members has become comfortable and pleasant, so they never feel hurt. They are like brothers. Jungkook very often says that Jin is old. But Jin is not really hurt, Jin is angry but in a fun way. There is a video that you have to watch when BTS members are really angry. Jin and V had a serious and worrying fight just before their concert. Seeing the video of the incident recorded by the camera made me realize how great the RM figure is to maintain the strength of the team. Jin, as the oldest member, can choose the ego, but he apologizes to V first. After the concert ended, even though only V and Jin were fighting, all members gathered to solve the problem. I was truly amazed by the teamwork and caring that the BTS had. They don't let the problem finish just "sorry" but as much as possible solve the problem even though they have little rest time.

Its funny and all but don't misunderstand, Jin is one of the most caring person in the team and uses his authority of age (It's a cultural thing, btw) to comfort and help them with their personal problems. He's a really hilarious guy that's incredibly interesting to watch, but he wasn't always this way from the start. In burn the stage series, he did say that he gets depressed too but wants to stay positive for the members such that they can rely on him. The reason he started to make those old man jokes, was also to make the people around him laugh and happy. I love Jin! He is so funny and actually really mature and even tho he acts "old/like a grandpa" his mentality is very "modern". Age is very important in Korea, and letting all the members, esp Jungkook(the maknae/막내 and someone he helped raise) talk and treat him like an "equal" is (to me) very commendable. (Jungkook do speak formally with his hyung`s/형, but he acts very comfortable around them) He is such a mood maker, easily making the mood funny/happy and making members comfortable with his silliness and also a very wise guy, but I guess that comes with being a BTS member :)

Jin is so funny 😂 He is the type of guy who gets angry but actually doesn't get angry, you can see he takes it with a laughing at the end, but yeah he has a dad personality, I mean after all he is the oldest which is a very big thing there but Jin isn't arrogant about being the oldest, he could put every member on hid place if he wants to, but you can see how all of them, especially the younger ones joke him, especially Jungkook 😂 that duo is the most chaotic. I would say Jin's personality is also very straightforward, he is the one who will tell what he thinks even on camera. Jin is also known as the one who always don't go with rules of the company 😂 If there is something he doesn't like, he will tell them so to talk about it. That's why a Jin Hit Entertainment exists. 😂 I think he encourages the members to say their real thoughts on something. A CULTURAL LESSON: Age is very important in Korea, the older person has to be respected, even if he/she's only older by a year. Even their language is structured into formal and informal speech, and you don't realise this because you don't know Korean, but Jungkook speaks formal to all of them, Tae and jimin speaks formal to everyone except for Jungkook, Jhope and RM speaks formal to Suga and Jin while Suga speaks formal to Jin only. Jin is the oldest of the team, meaning he has most authority over them unless RM speaks up as he's the leader. But all in all, a certain amount of respect has to be shown to someone older and you should listen to those who are older than you. Bts doesn't care all that much about these authority as they are too close compared to any other groups, but it's in their culture and they do act it out to a certain extent. Usually, a younger person even has to volunteer to pour water/alcohol for someone older if they eat out etc. This is also why, despite Suga being savage and serious, Jin is said to be the only one in the team that can put him in his place lol. If Jin asks for something, he will do it hahahha

i teared up when kate said, "it's for our boys..." i really hope you read my next comments... i hope you know this is jin trying to entertain. he doesn't have an old man mentality who doesn't listen... as a matter of fact, despite him being the eldest hyung (and that is a HUGE deal in korea since they are very keen on authority and seniority in all aspects), jin has shown amazing adaptability to stabilize and give his younger brothers freedom and comfortability to be themselves around him. they are allowed to goof around and treat jin like they're of the same age (which is really beautiful). for that jimin clip, that was for a game and they had to say something "awful" to shake the other person... sigh. as a matter of fact, jin loves feeding jimin and jimin says he started eating some food he normally wouldn't because jin teaches him. 💜 that's why for years now, jin always speaks up when he's not comfortable with what the staff asks of them. he's innately considerate, very respectful and well-mannered. seokjin trends for being well-mannered. 😊 jin does this hyper mode to entertain. 😊 he's offcam very calm and sensitive to the boys' needs... tae says he likes jin the most and that jin heals them. jimin says he's the best brother. jungkook says jin is his everything.

I loove Jin's personality. He's not my bias, Suga is, but I feel like I can relate most to him personality wise. He's such a people person too, you can definitely see that side of him on the Bon Voyags series, especially the 3rd one.
