@user-ve5fg9bt1w I have just done some research and unfortunately the world music academy isn't something that exists. You may be referring to a radio station known as NPR who decided to publish a list of 50 voiced around the world that made its mark. Making a mark doesn't not equate to being top 50 singers, I'm not even sure that list could be made because singing, even at the top level is very subjective. But regardless, this man was an amazing singer.

Over 46 years ago, during the presidency of Daud Khan in Afghanistan, a golden time when secularism was advancing in Afghanistan, I had the privilege of attending many of Ahmad Zahir's concerts. Ahmad Zahir was an extraordinary figure in pop music, not only in the region but globally. Tragically, he was murdered on June 14,1979 as part of a conspiracy orchestrated by the pro-Soviet communist government, when he was only 33 years old. Despite his untimely death, Ahmad Zahir's music remains timeless, always a joy to listen to. Even generations born decades after his passing have developed a deep connection to his music and artistry. His songs continue to resonate, showing that his legacy transcends time. Sadly, Ahmad Zahir died at the age of 33, leaving behind a musical legacy that, though groundbreaking, was left incomplete due to his tragic death. hand me hand me the glass of wine along with the sound of harp and flute. He is calling on Saqi (bartender) to hand him the wine glass. Saqi or bartender is an important element in eastern poetry, as well as all the other things related to bartender i.e glass, wine, bottle etc

⁠his English is okay but his/ her understanding of Persian poetry is not In order to translate a poem you have to have full knowledge of those languages plus a profound understanding of the poetry Some words doesn’t convey the same meaning in English for example Saaqee has very broad and deep meaning in Farsi to translate it to a bartender does not carry the same weight if you would ❤

Maybe for the world he is not famous because of the language and also type of music but for Afghanistan, Iran and Tajikistan he is the best Persian singer. His voice is unrepeatable. You can ask anyone about Ahmad Zahir and no one can name a bad song of him. He was trully a legend that we lost him because he is died in a very young age 32.
