Great video! I am in Queensland, Australia. There is about 4000km of 610mm sugar cane railways here. Moves about 32 000 000 tonnes of sugar cane each year. The sugar cane trains can travel at 40km/h, and up to 100km from the cane fields to the crushing mill. A sugar cane rail line used to travel in the middle of a street in the town of Nambour. The line is being converted to public transport tram, for passengers. The crushing mill is gone, replaced by a shopping mall.

It's good to see that the line is being repurposed and not just closed and ripped up. Over the ditch here in NZ we have lost many provincial rail lines due to closure and the tracks being ripped up. It is unlikely they will ever be reinstated. At least if the lines are left there then they can be used again.

@@bangkokom kereta itu kendaraan paling efisien, karena satu lokomotif bisa angkut ratusan gerbong Cuman ya kelemahannya harus di jalurnya, beda sama truk yang bisa kemana2. Kereta pada umumnya juga gabisa mendaki jadi jalurnya harus benar2 datar.

Sbenernya ga ada hubungannya sama import enggaknya. Sekarang lebih milih pake truk karna kebun tebu sekarang bukan cuma ada di sekitar pabrik. Atau kebun milik persero an. Sekarang lbh banyak masyarakat yg juga menanam tebu. Jadi banyak yg jarak kebun dg pabrik bisa puluhan kilometer. Kalo pake lori kaya gini pasti lama. Mungkin penggunaan lori sekarang hanya bisa untuk jarak kebun yg tidak terlalu jauh.

Looks like the thing you need most, is more regular line maintenance - clearing down the greenery and mud during the off season. Maybe even have small self-powered carriages the locals can use to carry thier shopping etc, so there's enough traffic on the line to keep down the greenery.

We have to understand about sugar cane train activities, not passenger trains in general. The sugar cane train only runs during the sugar cane harvest, and before the sugar cane harvest starts, the locomotive will carry out a track inspection. After that the track will be cleaned by workers. So, for the first time before the sugar cane harvest season, it is normal for the tracks to be covered with grass or dirt. Saya harus bilang INI KEREN mengingatkan saya beberapa tahun yang lalu tentang Pabrik Rejoagung Madiun, dimana ketika saya naik bus dari Caruban ke sepanjang Kota Madiun srlalu memperhatikan rel kereta tebu yang sudah sangat kuno, berjalan panjang mengangkut tebu2. Tapi semua sudah tidak ada, semua tinggal kenangan, semua diangkut dengan truk. Bahkan lokomotif kuno di depan Pabrik Rejoagung pun sudah dipindah entah kemana, saya sangat menyukai kereta api dan merasa flashback ke masa lalu ketika melihat kereta2 kuno berjalan.

Senang juga melihat kereta offroad, kenapa rel bisa ditutup aspal kalau relnya masih aktif (walaupun digunakan hanya saat panen tiba), ada baiknya dilakukan koordinasi dengan pihak terkait supaya rel dan jalan sama2 ada perawatan jalan dan perawatan rel, sehingga kereta spt ini tetap lestari.

Jalu yg tertutup tanah hatusnya di turab, dengan buldoser mini atau lokomotof disel dimodifikasi dengan sofel unt membuka tanah yg menutup rel, saya bangga dengan kereta disel ntuk panen tebu, di kota saya di Sragen, PG MOJO sudah lama dari th1965 tidak pakai lokomotif

@@bayexgrobak9462 menurut saya semua emang sudah zamanya, zaman dulu semua fasilitas yang nanggung pemerintah rakyat tinggal mengoprasikan contohnya tu lori, kan dulu jarang2 juga orang punya truk bahkan keknya nggk pemikiran kalau truk buat angkut tebu, kalau sekarang pake lori keknya bakal ngeganggu jalanya orang, sekarang alat transportasi udah banyak apalagi sepeda motor ama mobil udah banyak banget, malah lori nya suruh ngalah tuh ama emak emak pake motor wkwk, cmiiw

Selamat menemukan kembali jalan hidupmu lokomotifku. Teringat masa kecil dulu setiap ada lokomotif lewat angkut tebu. Aku dan teman teman slalu naik saat pulang sekolah. Kenangan tinggal kenangan. Kini jalanmu sudah tertutup aspal semua. Sawah yg dulu di tanami tebu , kini tergantikan oleh rumah dan gudang. Pematang sawah yg dulu biasa ku lewati jg gk tau di mana. Benar benar gersang.

Amazing to see what actually happens when a medium/heavy rail Loco meets up with a newly Asphalted Road and the rails are buried! It seemed to make no difference. I hoped the Loco was going to continue and cross over that iron-framed bridge - but it didn't. Maybe that will happen in the next Video! Thanks, Guys. Good video with unusual content. Michael G. UK.

Really sweet narrow gauge railroad! The United States used to have these but except for US Sugar’s South Central Florida Express, which is Standard gauge, they are all gone.

Are the tracks covered like this because the vegetation grows so rapidly that the tracks get overgrown between harvests? And it was fascinating to watch the loco cross the asphalt! Thank you for a look at a completely different world than mine (I am in USA).

Thank you for watching, The sugar cane train only runs during the sugar cane harvest, and before the sugar cane harvest starts, the locomotive will carry out a track inspection. After that the track will be cleaned by workers. So, for the first time before the sugar cane harvest season, it is normal for the tracks to be covered with grass or dirt. The important point here is that the road contractor had closed the tracks without confirmation, because the asphalt was still new (wet), the locomotive opened the crossing. by the way, this video has subtitle available, did you know that?? Fascinating these old school trains + tracks. We no longer have these types of railways in Western Europe. It's all modern and fast 140km/h and/or high speed 300km/h or more. Older old school railways are only in use as museum lines for tourists. Nice video!

We dont have uses for slim rail like that anymore. On their huge plantations it makes sense, but not on privatly owned and atomized industrial areas.

Wah jadi kangen ikut naik lorry kosong yg digeret lokomotifnya dulu, dari gudang mau ke sawah pas mau ngambil tebu, sejauh itu, dah sampe perbatasan desa turun pulangnya jalan kaki sama temen2 sambil nyari layang2.. Yg penting seneng ikut bisa ikut naik. Dulu di Probolinggo yg paling punya lintasan panjang itu PG. Gending 😂
