That trick with the plastic bags are better than boxes... i always does a picture from a part before and after so for me its a bit mor easy to remember what parts i need for what section and a number helps me for the box where i put the screws and so on in it. But i will try that plastices next 😅🤣

When you have done several engines the brain just starts to know how to set everything up so you don't forget and with experience you just know where it all goes even when you don't disassemble it yourself.

To be fair, 200hp motors are typically designed for one thing and that’s hard use. Saying that however regularly serviced engines that are rode within sensible standards should last a very long time

@@AaronS-q2p there's a distinction between hard-use and abuse :). not trying to diagnose what happened to this engine by the way.. i've read in numerous bike manuals (some read those) engines shouldn't be raced w/o a load (as in neutral), engines shouldn't be revved over certain rpm before reaching operating temp, etc, not to mention critical maintenance such as valve clearance, retorqueing... i'm constantly surprised at the fact so few engines 'grenade' considering what engine abuses one can see here on yb alone :)

Just one valve and out goes the intake side cam shaft,spring, valve and if the sleeve was lined unlike old bikes which is cast iron can be re-bore with larger size piston, this BM cannot, this one would need a whole new block, pistons, rings. Wow, just the cost of replacement parts alone!😆😆

14:27 and 14:30 you need to remember to drain your water from your water catch container and your entire pnuematic system, not good to have or mist or water droplets going onto mechanical parts , weather your taking apart your engine or putting it together, it can damage the engine

I'm guessing that for some reason the valve did not follow the cam profile causing it to stay open while the piston comes to TDC. Maybe the spring broke.

@@laurens1520 As you have mentioned about 'some reason'..now to my mind that 'some reason' became the reason to think about...In my mind i considered two Reasons 1) Manufacturing error on the valve spring 2)Engine Being fired with high rpm for longer period got Overheating which caused the spring to loose its properties and break.

What was the cause? Would it have been maybe misfire? from low octane? Or valve clearance left overdue? Cam chain tension? What do you think was the cause of this motors failure? Anyone? Thanks

1st its kinda common problem for the BMW... 2nd a valve clearance is a must, cause you will have better understanding on the valve train behavior and changes 3rd a bike should not be left idle for a longer period.. this can cause one of the valve being push open, thus compressing the spring.. which in result can lead to spring failure...
