I'm going to bore you to death. Great way to start a comment! Actually, one of my ex-colleagues used to study to teach languages in schools, and he told me that when we're children, there are certain neural pathways that are developed depending on which language you're taught as your natural language. Interestingly enough, that does indeed make you a bit tone-deaf to certain sounds. There are techniques that he was taught to teach people who wanted to learn a second language how to hear and reproduce those sounds that aren't ingrained in their brain, of course. If you've seen Sycra's video on muscle memory and skiing as a metaphor, you get a pretty good idea of how that work. As a real life example: I'm Italian, I've learned English as a second language. There are sounds which I find really hard to hear and reproduce: cut and cat being the easiest example (though batter and butter are even worse). I'm slowly starting to build the snow track to hear them better but, if I'm not thinking hard enough, you'll see that I don't pronounce the difference between that particular A and U sound. Also, the brushes are in the description.

My favourite is actually the word "tastes". It took me a long while of practising it on my own, before I could wrap my tongue around all those tsts sounds. :3

22:22 Another origin of the "don't use black" rule is traditional mediums. I find especially in watercolor that black makes the color dull and desaturated. It's mostly a problem with brighter colors.

There are 2 things regarding what you mentioned about avoiding someone else's art: Primacy Effects (memory) and Availability Heuristic (working memory/recollection). One can be "primed" to mentally bring up items, often subconsciously, when contemplating something similar to them. I had this issue as a writer with trying to find inspiration where I'll find I've inadvertently incorporated... basically someone else's idea with different names and dates and whatnot. And I'll think to myself, "why did I do this?" I haven't really experienced in art yet (I'm a beginner), but seems like it would be something very easy to be susceptible to.

I hope that im not bothering you, but I wanted to ask, if you could do a Video on how you do Studys. I have some problems with it and dont really know how to start. Do I study from pictures or from other Paintings or does it matter at all? And I´m sorry if you already did a Video on that Topic and i just simply didnt saw it. You're inspirations or the people who influenced your style are very classic, do you think that was a big part of still being successful as an artist? I don't follow a lot of classical artists or browse any traditional paintings for that matter outside of what my high school course makes me. Am i wrong in following modern artist / digital art (Sakimichan or Zeronis are probably the most well known examples I could give), or should I start looking into classical art and be influenced by them as well.
