I have an idea!! What about using the beautiful armoire as your home-schooling/command center? It's the first thing you see when you enter the home, and this looks like it could look a lot neater!

I thought the same thing - gorgeous to look at when you first walk in the door and the cube system could be repurposed for the basement craft area.

Oh My Gosh... paint that hutch and put it in the kitchen in place of that food cabinet. It looks like it will fit and it is So Nice. You can absolutely fit everything you have in the pantry - into the hutch.

That beautiful China cupboard would look really pretty in your living room! It would add height, as well. Could one of the shelving units be put to use just as easily elsewhere? the items put into the cupboard could be items from that shelving unit…books…games…memoribilia? Rather than dishes or glassware.

The two of you are making such huge progress in the garage. The opened area has so much potential. I agree the hutch is so nice. It would look nice in your house or as part of your future crafting area in the basement.

It's looking so good! I think you'll be able to set up at least a few tables for your next yard sale inside the night before, so you don't have to worry about rain like the last time. And then normally, it will be all ready for any projects your hubby wants to work on.

Omg so much progress! As a fellow crafter I would use the china hutch as a crafroom storage I used an old tv stand and turned it into a crafting center or as some people suggested in the living room for the command center. One thing I commonly run into with helping other people organize is that vertical space is not utilized efficiently so anything that can store things high up is a plus

Hi! I keep the majority of my gardening supplies in a cupboard in my garage(bought at Lowe’s). I also keep a medium size bin on the back patio to store additional trowels, clippers, etc. for use in the backyard. I also store a trash can, broom, dustpan, & shovel in the corner of the back patio for backyard work. RE: The hutch - - I would sell it in the next yard sale. If it’s been in the garage this long, that means that you do not need it or love it🌞💐

It’s nice that your able to put out more than one bin and your trash company takes it! In our city if it doesn’t fit in the bin it doesn’t get picked up without a special pickup.

I was already thinking that China hutch would be perfect in your craft studio in the basement. You could display a few handmade items as well as store some of the colorful craft supplies like ribbons. You can even make the hutch one of your creative projects by painting it. Great tossy, tossy pile. I had anxiety seeing everything taken out and spread out on the driveway. As much as I want to do that I just can’t do it.

Great job both of you the garage looks so much better. You really work so well together and achieved so much. Btw I think it makes perfect sense what you said about keeping your garden nook in the garage because it’s near where it is needed most. Excited to see what the space looks like when it is fully decluttered and organised. It was nice you found a few more things to add into the yard sale pile too.

Wow that’s absolutely fantastic you both did amazing❤️your husband’s family’s beautiful cabinet is gorgeous, I am on our local pages to find something similar in the UK, we were downsizing a few months ago so we donated half of our things but for reasons which were unforeseen we were unable to for now. So I thought I would buy one special piece and not replace anything else.

The idea you need to allow hubby all of the garage and you need to move garden stuff someplace different is crazy! The home is shared space not his, mine they them, it’s us, we, ours and shared.

Given that her husband allowed her hoard to take over every room in the house for years, I think it's great she lets him have a space of his own. Her relationship is going to work out and be successful. With your attitude, I'll be surprised if you are even in a relationship.

@@bunacat1 I don’t understand why anyone would tell her where to put her stuff so hubby can have the full garage. I read the comments on the last video, it’s frustrating how many people correct her when she is honestly showing the truth of what healing looks like. It drives me nuts the constant correction she gets.
@modernhomesteadalaska
@modernhomesteadalaska Сағат бұрын
@@ash1422 she gives space to everyone’s things, the basement has lots and lots of her husbands things, she is kind and respectful and doesn’t say this space is mine I’ll just move my husbands things out. She never does that to her husband or children, when she decluttered her bedroom and hubby had tons of things in his space she didn’t toss his stuff or limit the space he is allowed, she is kind and giving and trying so hard to clean out so that everyone gets space in the home. And for ugly attitudes to think she is not allowed a garden nook in her and her husband’s garage is completely ridiculous. It’s as ridiculous as saying her husband can’t have space in the basement or shed or any other part of the home. They share the home and if they agree that the garden space works for both of them!!!!! No one has the right to tell them they are wrong.

Three(3) of us live in a 2BR apartment. No garage, no shed, no basement. Toss anything no one's used in a year. Garbage out every day. Only buy what you need. Off- season clothes fit in a small suitcas: we're near Chicago, so we have 4 seasons. We have too many tchotchkes, but they aren't mine. Tina, Al's wife

I am wondering a bit. In my country the trash bins all have lids and they are made of plastic so heavy that the wind is not moving them and they can be out in the yard / driveway all year around. I´ve seen a few garage videos from the US and most people seem to have their trash bins in the garage. What is the reason for that? It seems to be such a waste of space and doesn´t it smell? Just being curious as it is different here in Germany.
@lynnwales2937
@lynnwales2937 Сағат бұрын
Actually, yes, the wind here does get strong enough to tip them over. Tornadoes and hurricanes are very common in much of the U.S. Also, in many areas there are rules about keeping “unsightly “ objects out where your neighbors can see them (but, thankfully that’s not everywhere!).

For your china cabinet, it sounds silly but I think it helps to take the point of view of the item. Is this item happy being stored this way? Am I respecting this item in keeping it in this way? It's not so much about you _liking_ an item, because let's face it it's so easy to like thousands of things, but it's being realistic about the container size of your home. If you can't keep an item respectfully, it's probably better to pass it on to someone who really needs it. When I see furniture items in garages or basements, going unused, getting damaged by dust, bugs, water, etc. that's not really respecting that item and the people who worked hard to make it. I'd always rather pass on items that I like but can't realistically use in a respectful or functional way. I'd never want something to deteriorate and go to waste in my possession that someone else could've used. The world is abundant, if I needed a similar item in the future, I know I'll be able to find one.
@volunteerworker
@volunteerworker 3 сағат бұрын
I actually have to respectfully disagree about being successful with stuff has to be near the space of use. There are people out there that actually do not have stuff in the same space or right near it and are successful. Our back shed in our big yard does have all our outdoor stuff in it, and in order to maintain the front yard and back yard, everything stays rhere. You just have a little bit extra exercise, which is a benefit for everyone. We dont keep our cleaners in the same areas. We have bathrooms on opposite ends of the house and do track between the two and the kitchen for items to clean all three spaces. Not all homes and apartments are the same. There are people who live in apartments have storage not near their apartment itself and have to trek across a complex or wherever to get decorations or off season things for random things. You cant categorize most people into a box when literally not everyone knows how everyone works. Like for the garden space most people commented to put it in the shed, yet you said in this vlog most people would agree of you keeping the nook in the garage, which is contradictory to the comments in the previous video. That's why no one can actually say "most people do this" because it isnt accurate. I understand the reason to try to relate and reach out to everyone. It's admirable. But, everyone is raised differently and audiences are different. Instead of saying "most people do this or think this way", its better speak for yourself on what you choose to do and why. Not speak for everyone or most people. And, I know its unintentional, but still its food for thought that can be helpful in the future.
