All three fights were good, but Ahsoka/Baylon was just incredible. The buildup, with no music, just the sound of the two lightsabers. Baylon being the physical presence, but still starting the fight defensively, trying to stay in Ahsoka's way of the map. Ahsoka changing her fighting stances as she circles around him, and Baylon responding, in kind. Ahsoka's fighting style feeling more samurai speed, and Baylon being more about medieval knight power. All of it was so well done...

Also, i think there is a reason to not using the jar-kai variation of ahsoka (the double sabers), because her oponent was really strong on the form 3-4, so using two blades at the same time would've supposed a big dissadvantage :p If you see it, Baylon has a very solid combat style, combining a really strong defense with strong and effective attacks, using 2 blades would have been a dissadvantage because ahsoka couldnt break his defense with that, and at the same time she would've been less concentrated on her own defense :3 (imo)

@mcbeardthebat8589 Just remember Kathleen Kennedy should be given credit as well! I mean, fans certainly throw her name out in a vitriolic manner when they dislike something but convienently don't mention her when they like something. @@TalYholyland4you No, she is in the Worlds in between Worlds, she was saved by Ezra taking her there after fighting with Vader at the Sith temple in Rebels. Note that the Worlds between Worlds is foreshadowed to have been created (or least given access points) by the "gods" on Mortis (the force Dimension, which we see in Clone Wars). Those same "gods" responsible for the access to the Worlds between Worlds have said that Anakin is meant to replace them. I think a much more likely theory of what's going on is that Anakin (as a Force ghost) took control of Mortis and may be able to somehow open portals to the Worlds between Worlds. This dimension is also able to allow time travel, traveling to another galaxy should also be possible. So Ahsoka will be able to join Sabine, Ezra and Thrawn through exiting the Worlds between Worlds, and Anakin is now the cosmic god of the universe, incarnating the very Force.

I like the idea of Anakin and Ahsoka finally having a heart to heart conversation of what happened in between the battle for Mandalore while Anakin was being tempted into the dark by Darth Sidious. I think it would do Ahsoka good if Anakin helped her to find forgiveness for herself and to continue on along asking maybe to forge her own path. I like to think they’ll mention briefly Luke but I think we’ll see him. I doubt she’ll be that much involved in his life since The Last Jedi had him all depressed so doubtful on that but he could still help out if they want him to which I’d fine with seeing Luke in action again. I am curious on how Anakin found the world between worlds in the force if he is alive or rather some kind of force ghost or phantom in the force like Obi-wan in the original trilogy that appeared as a force ghost to talk to Luke from time to time. I don’t think he found a gate like in Rebels so I kinda leaning on force ghost helping out to make amends. As for Ezra, I to see him either next episode or the after it and alive at the end of the season 🎉

One of the best episodes of the series? Best one of this series by far. One of the best Star Wars episodes Disney has done in any series. The lightsaber action was really on point. Especially the Baylon/Ahsoka duel. Sabine's decision was very authentic, especially after she thought Ahsoka died. That really left Ezra as almost the only family she has left. I just wish writers would give the audience more credit, and not spell things out so obviously. No need for the "can I count on you?" part. May as well have just put up sign showing what was going to happen.

Filoni said outright that the WBW isn't about time travel. I don't think time travel exists in the world of Star Wars. I think what's going to happen then, is that the WBW will present the Mustafar fight to Ahsoka, but instead of Obi-Wan vs Anakin, it'll be her vs Anakin. She probably really regrets leaving that day, and feels like she could've stopped him turning. "What if the right reasons have the wrong outcome?" points to this. The fact that he's in his ROTS robes, has Vader's hilt, Vader's theme played, Filoni is no fool. He isn't doing this just because that's where Anakin is most recognizable. Force shenanigans are afoot. And next week is going to be heartbreaking.

Ahsoka fighting style is inspired by Miyamoto Musashi. He (she) made use of any type blade at his disposal, usual style being 2 blades but can switch one when needed, no attachment to a place to call home, moving forward alone (21 principles of Dokkodo). The light saber fight was the best one so far even if i really liked Ahsoka vs the witch with the beskar spear.

There are no words when Anakin is shown, the way he is shown, the smile, the aura, the surrealism of it all, yes, tears are mandatory and called for, as so much is implied here... it is as I have always wanted it, that the Word Between Worlds (WBW) can be - and should be - a catalyst/platform to retcon everything of the sequels and set things right the way they should have been. Clone Wars s07e08, Together Again captured the essence and it was also captured here. Why does it seems so hard to realize the beauty, essence, timelessness of Anakin and Ahsoka? If you want to keep the fans happy, learn from this. Well done Jon and Dave, I will need time to absorb all this let alone all the implications. Note: I like to think that the balance of what the force was doing with Anakin was to live out the evil, learn from it and then right it with the WBW. I am at a place in Star Wars where I once again have Hope, the way it started, the way it should end.

I think Anakin might actually be a force ghost. His line was, “I didn’t expect to see you so soon.” But he’s not shocked by how much Ahsoka has aged. I think this might rule out the idea that he entered the WBW while he was alive at some point, before he became Vader. I think the reference “so soon” might be that he didn’t expect her to need him so soon after he became a force ghost. But that’s just my theory. While it’s known for a lightsaber user to be fluid with lightsaber forms and switch in and out of them even during a duel, Obi Wan and Anakin are exclusively known for their respective styles. Obi is the master of form 3 Soresu and Anakin is known for starting out with form 4 and then mostly using form 5, Djem. For context I was referring to the comment made around the 9:10 mark of this video.

It is clear that they are ultimately going to show that Sabine was not acting with emotion, but with faith (i.e. being one with the force). When Ahsoka asks Sabine to stop Thrawn at all costs, she is saying that with fear. While it may initially seem that Sabine is acting with emotion, she earnestly answers Ahsoka that she can indeed trust her to make the right choice if needed. They have been through insane odds before. Sabine knows they can do it again. Ahsoka wants to lose out on finding another Jedi because she is scared. That is the lesson Ahsoka will have to learn. I think Sabine has even yet to realize fully that she just became a Jedi. I also want to add: this emulates the arc of Anakin's own character. He became what he fought most because of fear. Ahsoka fought the Jedi order because of what they became, yet she is closer to the clone-wars era Jedi order than ever. Her fear of Thrawn caused her to make a choice only a Jedi would (i.e. Sacrifice Ezra to save the galaxy), yet refuses to acknowledge that the force, the thing that they claim to act in the will of, has obviously thrown them towards this new Galaxy. Fear made them unable to listen to the force. Anakin did not listen and fell to the sith. Ahsoka refused to listen... and became a clone-wars era Jedi. The thing they both hated most, and ultimately cost them everything. Anakin, his wife. Ahsoka, her master.
@mikethehunter5212 Жыл бұрын
Good observation. Attachments are the cause of turning to the dark side according to Jedi teachings. Funny thing is the Sith inevitably forgo any attachment to others in order to gain personal power. By teaching the fear of attachment, the Jedi of Yoda's era were starting off on the first step towards the dark side.
@StuffWithWords505 Жыл бұрын
@@mikethehunter5212 exactly that. Even further, the reason the Jedi order became what it did in the clone wars was not only because of palpatine's interference, but because of fear regarding the war from the Jedi. Their fear caused the clone wars. That fear did not allow them to listen to the force and see through the deception. Ahsoka knows this yet fails to see that same situation right in front of her. I am absolutely astounded at the writing at display. Truly a culmination of many years of amazing work

Baylan Skoll is a more of an exploration of Count Dooku losing his faith and being part of the Lost Twenty. I remember reading about the Lost Twenty before Attack Of The Clones was released. It ended up being a deleted scene. So seeing Baylan is what we should've saw with Dooku. It would be cool if we got a live-action origin story of Dooku. Watch him as a young Jedi and why he left the Order. Damn shame that both Christopher Lee and Ray Stevenson have passed. But at least their characters can live on through origin stories. I no longer believe Shin will kill Baylan. She seems to obey everything he orders. What I now see is Baylan getting killed by either Morgan or Thrawn. Then Shin will help Sabine escape from the Eye of Sion and be part of Ahsoka's crew. Ahsoka can train Shin instead of Sabine. Shin is like Pom's character, Paris, in Dead Reckoning Part One. Now I personally don't wish Shin to turn to the light. But if she stayed with Morgan and Thrawn on the dark side, she would end up being dead. I don't think Shin will ever turn good. I just see her as a rival turned ally after she watches Baylan get killed. We all know the heroes always win regardless if they happen to lose this season and Thrawn returns to their galaxy. If Shin stayed bad, she's going to eventually get killed and Ahsoka is way too powerful for her to handle. Can we stop with the staring contests in every lightsaber duel, please? I wanted to see hearts flutter 💕 when Sabine and Shin kept staring into each other's eyes again and then Ahsoka and Baylan did the same. Baylan might be the best Star Wars character we've seen in years. He's conflicted because he knows Thrawn is going to be a problem. And he's probably suspicious of Morgan like Shin is. He's going to end up with a hero's sacrifice at the very end. Shin will then help Sabine escape.

To quote Anakin from Revenge Of The Sith, "This is where the fun begins!" Fallen Jedi, literally the keyword is fallen. Ahsoka is finally in The World Between Worlds. Josh from The Den of Nerds said 3 days ago that Marrok was made of smoke perhaps created by Morgan's witchcraft. Fans were trying to dissect who he was when I thought he was a nothing character and he literally was a nothing character 🚭. I thought for a moment Shin was going to die but I'm glad she didn't and listened to her master. I think if Ahsoka fought Shin, then Shin would've died for sure. Shin is not on Ahsoka's level in fighting. Ahsoka burned her left hand. She was forced to fight with her right but got overpowered by Baylan. I'm glad the Eye of Sion left. I want them to go to this new galaxy. I didn't want Hera and her crew to intervene. I think once we see Thrawn, the stakes goes way higher. Thrawn is like replacing Palpatine and Vader as the new big baddie. The usually level-headed Hera looked completely shook knowing who's coming back. Her son has a bad feeling. Yeah, they all should. Realized it's only 38 minutes. Was only 3.5 minutes longer than Ep 3. I wish it was 20 minutes longer. Ep 1 was 55 minutes. Then Ep 2 was 42. The last two episodes moved at a faster pace but both under 40 minutes. Subtract at least 3 minutes from the intro and end credits. These recent episodes are as short as a typical Cobra Kai episode. I'm hearing from Josh that Episode 5 is going to break the Internet. All these naysayers saying Ahsoka sucks and it's boring are going to get really quiet 🤫 by next week. It started slow, so what? It's going to get much better in the 2nd half. Obviously, Ahsoka is not dead. Josh from The Den of Nerds said she'll get a near-death experience. Sabine was pretty badass here with her Mandalorian gear. She's not a Force wielder, so she couldn't do what Shin can do to her making her fly across the forest and hitting trees. I wanted Sabine to give the coordinates back to Baylan. If she didn't, then the story doesn't progress. She'll never see Ezra ever again. I trust Baylan's word. I believe he will protect her from Morgan and Thrawn. Sabine gets to see Ezra again but the price is Thrawn's return to their galaxy and waging war. From a story standpoint, Sabine had to succumb to Baylan. I can imagine Thrawn will look like Daenerys at the end of The Winds of Winter episode heading to Westeros ready to engage in war. Heir to the Empire. Baylan is becoming the best character in this series so far. I believe he's conflicted because he's aware what a threat Thrawn will be. Now I don't expect him to live passed this season with Ray gone and Thrawn looming, but he's a very interesting character. Not Jedi or Sith. Baylan lost faith and is like Dooku from the Lost Twenty. My top 5 favorites so far are Shin, Baylan, Ahsoka, Sabine, and Hera. Ahsoka and Baylan are the best fighters in this so far. Love seeing Huyang get into a fight. When Sabine was talking to Ahsoka, I kept saying, "Gear up, girls. Gear up. Your enemies are coming." I thought Ahsoka did a badass move when she shifted one of the baddies in front of another baddie and gets shot in the back. Then when she kills Marrok and slices that huge rock that Baylan throws at her with the Force while she spun. It was one fluid motion by Ahsoka with one hand. When Shin and Marrok stood there facing Ahsoka and Sabine in the forest, I was like F*ck yeah! Bring it on! Shin asks, "Going somewhere?" I like how Sabine didn't give up. She clearly lost and Shin was insulting her saying, "You have no power" but then Sabine shoots Shin's lightsaber off her hand. I like the effort from Sabine and she wasn't afraid to fight Shin again. I thought Ahsoka won her duel with Baylan. She kicks Baylan thrice. Third kick got him to fall to the ground after Baylan insults her legacy about being death and destruction like Anakin's. Then she grabs the map but burns her hand. When Shin returned, Ahsoka lost focus assuming Sabine died and then used up her Force energy to freeze Shin while in mid-air and toss her against a huge stone. Had Ahsoka not burn her left hand (she should've used the Force or her lightsaber to move it), she wouldn't have fallen off the cliff. But Baylan's swings hits hard. It's like a Mike Tyson uppercut. Baylan is throwing haymakers. He got Ahsoka closer to the ledge with a few swings. Like going against Balrog in SF2. He can pitbull Ahsoka to a corner. Baylan is a taller and heavy set man. He's like Babe Ruth swinging a baseball bat. If a prime Ahsoka fought Rey or even Kylo Ren, she would've smoke them both given she was raised in a Jedi Temple and her combat experience fighting in the Clone Wars. Anakin was a better fighter than Luke ever was since he was classically-trained himself like Ahsoka. They lived in the final years when Jedis were in their heyday. Anakin is like the Jesus Christ of Star Wars religion. The Chosen One born from immaculate conception. It's Jesus (Anakin) turning into Satan (Vader) and then back to Jesus. The de-aged Hayden doesn't really bother me. People were whining last year about Obi-Wan Kenobi that he wasn't de-aged. Now they're whining he is de-aged. Even great films have dumb moments and the dumbest moment in this episode for me is Sabine standing there when Shin looks towards Ahsoka and Marrok. Sabine could've took a swipe at Shin with her lightsaber but told Ahsoka to get the map only to proceed losing the fight. She could've injured Shin right away. Ahsoka could've done the same to Baylan when he looked back at Sabine holding the map. I think Ahsoka burning her hand was a little dumb too but she had possession of it before. She probably didn't think it was going to be hot. The little metallic ball cooled off quickly because Sabine was able to hold it 75 seconds later. And what's with all the staring contests for every lightsaber duel? Sabine and Shin staring into each other's eyes again like they did in Ep 1. Ahsoka and Baylan did the same. Episode 4 was pretty fire. I knew within the first 5 minutes that it was going to be good before it played the intro music. I'll place it as my 7th favorite episode from Disney+ SW. Will rewatch it a few more times this week. We will get an even better episode next week. One Way Out (Andor) The Eye (Andor) The Rescue (Mando) Rix Road (Andor) From The Desert Comes A Stranger (Boba) Return Of The Mandalorian (Boba) Fallen Jedi (Ahsoka) Redemption (Mando) The Believer (Mando) Part VI (Obi-Wan) Moved Redemption down a bit. Added The Believer as I enjoyed seeing Bill Burr again. I'll have Fallen Jedi at 7th for now. Still fresh. Still can't put it above Andor's Ep 6, 10, and 12 or Mando's S2 finale. The Rescue had the feelz at the end when Djarin unmasked himself to Grogu and seeing Luke and Artoo. Still the highest-rated episode on IMDb for a Disney+ SW with a 9.8. Fallen Jedi is at 9.3. I predict the villains will win Season 1. They win this round like they did in The Empire Strikes Back and Avengers: Infinity War. It's more compelling when they win and leaves a cliffhanger because the next season is when the heroes/heroines can redeem themselves like what happened in Return Of The Jedi and Endgame. I can imagine the final shot is Thrawn ready to go to war and looking out a window like Sidious and Vader did at the end of Revenge Of The Sith.

Ahsoka will talk to anakin about 3 topics: - their relationship and him turning to vader - anakin and baylan's mysterious afformentioned history in the jedi order - most interesting (to me) the relationship between anakin and thrawn, and how his respect for thrawn only increased after turning to vader The new canon Thrawn novels are the best canon books imo, so seeing flashbacks or discussions about that would be amazing

I'm suspisous about Sabine actually being able to destroy the map at all when Ahsoka told her to do so. Baylon is more powerful than her and stuck his lightsaber for a long while in it to be able to destroy it. Also, I think Ahsoka fell into the space between worlds because maybe her powers got mixed up with the witch's map and dropped her to the spot on the map that has led Ezra to the same place anyway.

I don’t think Sabine was merely trying to use the force. We hear a force noise and she is able to push her head away but it was very weak. That’s why Shin was so confident, and that’s how Sebine got the upper hand. Confirmed she can wield the force, just really weak

Anakin "kinda" left the Jedi order the way Lincoln "kinda" had a bad time at the theater. Also, re: Baylan trying to turn Sabine to the dark side: Maybe his goal is to help her find balance between the two. In the final confrontation, he was using his powers for defense (of the map) & relying on knowledge (of Asohka's past & Sabine's inner conflict) to help him to defend it. "A jedi uses their powers for knowledge & defense..." from Ep. 5 Maybe a bit more nuanced than a simple intent to corrupt her, which tends to be the inference around "turning" someone to the dark side.

Baylin is also very cautious because he knows who trained Ahsoka. Remember; Tano, Obi-Wan and Anakin all had a reputation for being unorthodox and usually not by the books on their missions. How exactly Baylin knows Anakin I believe there is much more to what he tells Ahsoka. Remember a lot has happened between Ahsoka leaving the order behind to Anakin and Ahsoka reuniting. What I want to know is if Baylin is saying he somehow know Anakin and Vader are one in the same. He put two and two together if he was at the temple where Anakin was killing the younglings and Anakin in the process convinced Baylin to switch sides. Remember also this was during a time when Jedi were leaving the order because of what they personally felt the order became. Maybe Baylin was going to be the grand inquisitor originally but decided not to and Palpatine tried to convince him to take the title. Might also explain why he believes in the recruitment of Thrawn. Baylin might've been a secret apprentice to Vader. Just my opinion. Also where is Leia in all this? Wasn't she still running things?

They showed a portal in the star map with Purrgil in it, similar to the loth wolf portal in Rebels. It may have a double meaning as an intergalactic path of Purrgils and a nearby portal. When Ahsoka falls off the cliff, they play the sounds of Purrgil and the waves of the sea transition into world between worlds. Looks like the star map opened a portal to world between worlds under the sea. Also Ahsoka said "I wont leave you, not this time" when facing off Darth Vader in Rebels S2 finale.

Overall great episode, perhaps the best of the season. Still think Ahsoka is flat (be it from writing or the acting, and yes, I understand the idea that perhaps she is just older/wiser/more like the Jedi she trained with). I just don't think it aligns with her character super well, partly because I think in Rebels she still had more expression while showing growth in her journey. And I still strongly dislike that we know nothing of the history between Ahsoka and Sebine, especially with what we know from Rebels in mind. It would've made more sense if she tried training her after she went back to get her and then there was a gap in time that we didn't know about. It throws into question Sebine's character in Rebels, as well as her training with Kanan. Otherwise no issues I can think of off hand about the episode. Baylan's character is by far my favorite so far. Yes, there was a brief moment where it appeared Sebine's lightsaber bent, but to me that's very minor and inconsequential. I do have some questions though for anyone with some insight or theories on these topics of discussion: 1. Why did Hera bring Jacen with her to the Eye of Sion? Seems dangerous, especially having to imagine there likely would be some defense of the structure. 2. Why didn't Ahsoka use the Force to just dislodge the star map at the beginning when she arrived at the Altar? I understand one could argue Baylan would counter, etc, but I think it's definitely doable especially when she just grabbed it - plus, she used the Force to throw Shin and Baylan didn't counter that. 3. Why was Baylan able to place the star map back down on the Altar? I was under the impression that Morgan needed to use the nightsister magick to allow the star map to be opened/accessed at the Altar. Maybe I assumed poorly? [Some other side notes on the series - I also like Sebine's character so far, fairly true to Sebine and great to see Mandalorian tactics come out with her this episode. I actually really liked the actor who played Ezra just based on his portrayal in the hologram so far - felt like the mannerisms and intonation were on point! Love Baylan and Shin Hati so far too - great new characters that are interesting for a few different reasons. I think Hera needs more time to be Hera, so we shall see - I'm a little torn on her portrayal so far but nothing too egregious. Hope the series continues to pick up from here - appreciate the cinematography but seems like it's been moving slowly from a plot standpoint often, and the characters just seem to move slowly and take too long to do things at times - but maybe I'm just being nitpicky with that.] Thanks for any thoughts or response everyone! Hope you're all enjoying the show in one way or another! May the Force be with all of you.

Yeah, I am guessing it's Vader, some time during operation Knightfall he found an way into the WbW and saved Ahsoka from certain death. He is no doubt going to ask her to help him finish off the order that betrayed her, and sense she is clearly from the future, perhaps she has some info that could help save Padme. Loved this Episode. I Was Thinking What If Baylon Wanted Sabine Wren (From the Very Beginning Of this Trip?) If Baylon (And Shin Hati ) Have a Goal to Find Ezra Bridger? ''Finding Thrawn Is a Necessary Evil'' To Secure A Better Future!'' (Use Sabine as Bait to Force Ezra to Bring Them Both Into the ''World Between World's''??) (In Norse Mythology the Wolves Baylon and Hati Chased the Moon and The Sun until Ragnarok ( Hati ate the Moon Baylon the Sun) Another Version Was They Rode Sol Chariot Until Ragnarok Then Devoured the Celestial Being's) That Was Paraphrased lol. One Way of Taken that Into the Star Wars Universe Could Be (Really a Number of Different Plot Threads) To Take Power From the Mortis God's ( Who Could be the considered Celestial Being's. Or Just Use the Celestial Made ''World between World's'' to Maybe Save Someone That They Both Lost (Baylon and Hati) Especially. If the Twist Is they are a Father/ Daughter ?) It's Possible Vader Killed Someone Important to Baylon and He Know's Ezra Bridger Was In that Realm Of the Cosmic Force.? Ahsoka Was there As well but she Never went Into the Future with Ezra. So, it's Possible Baylon Never Found Out About that? Say If His Goal Is to Go to That Realm. He would Not Bother Going with Morgan. ( I am Rambling on here lol) He would Try to Force Ahsoka's Hand, (Then again, She would not Help Him Go there LOL) His Motives do Intrigue Me! Whatever They Are I want David Filoni to Keep up the Mystical Force Concept's. Another Thing. If the Purrgil Travel Through A Portal Similar to the Loth Wolves (Loth Wolf Seemed to Hyper Space-Tunnel Through the Cosmic Force/To Get from One Side of the Planet Lothal to the Other side in Mere Min's. As they Traveled Ezra Could See Different Points Of time of his Past During the Trip, Even Sabine Heard the Voice's.) If so, We May See Them Travel and Maybe See A few Different Flash Backs Of a few Characters Past? On the Way to the Other Galaxy? Could Be Why Morgan Said Time and Space....( It Seems Even With 7 Super Star Destroyer Hyper Space Engine's on Ship Speed Only. That Vast of a Distance Would take Many Month's/Years Or More??? Unless those Other Devices are Charged with Morgans Night Sister Magic to Pass through The Cosmic Force/World between World's After they Got to Maximum Hyper Speed???????) LMAO. I Hope this Gets Explained.
