It doesn't really bother me that they recast most of the Rebels Characters for live action, since the characters should mostly look like they did in animation. But nevertheless, i'll be watching this in german, since they usually keep the VA's for every project. The Clone Wars was absolutely epic, because the characters felt consistent, they kept all the prequel VA's (ALL of them, even side characters!). The only character that has had a different voice-actor was the Grand Inquisitor in Kenobi (luckily, 5th brother still had the same VA though), but the guy from Rebels is in his late 70s already. And the younger VA was incredible, he did a very good job.

Rewatchability is a huge part of what makes *any* show/movie/etc my favorite. I never watched the Clone Wars (by the time I had any time, it was too far along and I have trouble investing time in multiple seasons) so I'm not as tied to Ahsoka, but Thrawn? Been a fan of that character since Zahn first wrote the guy. :D

Idk if it’s cos Mando season 3 has just completely ruined the whole aesthetic, but this vibrant look that they’re going for doesn’t sit too well with me. Looking at the set designs, the alien costumes and even Thrawns uniform just gives me a bad feeling. Also from what we’ve seen, the lightsaber choreography leaves much to be desired. It certainly appears to be a far cry from the prequels, which personally for me featured the best lightsaber fights and general battles out of all the shows. Overall, my expectations for Ashoka are extremely low, and will remain so until proved otherwise.

I hope it can provide us some much needed choreography and really fix the design flaws of Mando and recent visual fidelity. I think it'll be better than Mando but I have to wait and see

Ahsoka is everything Rey was supposed to be. I have very high expectations, like I expect this to be the sequel trilogy we never got.

For a number of years now, work has been proceeding in order to bring perfection to the crudely conceived idea of a transmission that would not only supply inverse reactive current for use in unilateral phase detractors, but would also be capable of automatically synchronizing cardinal grammeters. I'm not excited for it, but hey, I wasn't excited for Andor either and yet now it's my favorite star wars to date. I enjoyed Rebels and CW back when they came out, I mean I grew up with them CW was what star wars was to me when I was a kid (not anymore, I think I out grew the show, I don't really care for it much today). I actually think Rebels is better than CW, but I've just gotten tired of Ahsoka as a character. 7 seasons in one show, and handful more seasons in the next, plus several (too many imo, one was enough) cameos in the Mandalorian. It's not that Ahsoka is a bad character, or that she isn't an important one either, but I just want something fresh. something new. something with characters who aren't tied to existing stories so closely. Both Andor and Mando have done this (rather, originally started like this for the latter) and it benefited them greatly. Filoni inserting his OCs every chance he can is getting tiring. With how Obi-wan and Boba went, I don't have high hopes for Ahsoka. It seems they like to rely on well established and known characters, and just insert them into a story as a caricature of themselves. There's also just Ahsoka now becoming like the most important character in the franchise, but never actually being on screen for the main saga. It's just strange to me that its going to be "well she actually influenced every main character and events in the films" but it feels like it makes the universe so tiny and miniscule. That a character already with so many tie-ins is going to be the face of star wars going forward. I just don't feel that every character and event needs to be so connected in star wars, we don't need the marvel treatment. I understand that most star wars fans online and my age today are head-over-heels for everything prequels and want more including Ahsoka, but I feel that star wars has developed enough relating to them and the characters that its time for it to move on. Its controversial, but I am a fan of the sequels, and I think its high time they get something to really develop the world surrounding them more. I mean, clone wars came out just after ROTS, and the kids that are growing up with the sequels are going to want something like CW was for my generation. Its clear that Mando has been setting up ~somewhat~ the events of the sequel trilogy, and I'm sure Ahsoka will too, but they trilogy lacks the clear spearhead of supporting material that CW was like. But I do agree that Filoni absolutely has nailed the mysticism in star wars, I'd say better than Lucas. I just wish he could do it with new characters as star wars goes forward.

Agreed. I think after the success of Season 2 of the Mandalorian, they have gotten complacent with developing new interesting stories with new characters while over-introducing old ones like in BOBF.

The only thing that has to happen so this show is worth watching is that at least thrawn character is good, if they mock it I wont watch, I wont care how spectacular the other aspects of the show are

No offense, but I think Filloni is exactly what is holding this franchise back. Just re-hashing old themes with retreaded silhouettes of old characters. I don’t see what makes him a good storyteller at all. His best use would be as a guiding consultant. I cringed with the announcement that he will make a full feature movie. 🤢🤮
