But that doesn't mean they are the same as droids, they all were humanized by the clone wars series instead of being cannon fodder... Which makes each clone death in the series that much more heartbreaking.

Yup, hence why the inhibitor chips were implanted, to subvert their personal will and autonomy. As we saw with Rex, It's impossible to overcome unless the chip is removed. You don't have to WANT to do it, the chip will make you do follow the Order anyway.

@Half life 3 i think that dehumanizes them way too much. they’ve been fighting with the jedi for years and some of the jedi truly respect and care for them (anakin, ahsoka, yoda, even windu was willing to die for them). sure the clones who served under jedi that treated them badly might be willing to follow order 66 but there’s no way all of them would. the chip was the best way to explain why they would turn on the jedi so easily

@@Typhoon_Lex Well, for one, Order 66 doesn't really erase the Clones' memories of the Jedi. It just plants a really strong belief that the Jedi are traitors. Since they didn't know Jedi were traitors when they consciously painted the helmets, and only afterwards do they realize that, the helmets won't remind them of Ahsoka's good deeds. It would just remind them of an ally-turned-enemy.

It’s the happiness of the reunion with the 501st and the respect they show her, the sadness of her exile that led them to be estranged and the tragic realisation that this is the last time she is going to see Skywalker before he transforms to Vader. @@TheMegamyGamer Actually Appo is the commander of the 501st, which he was the replacement of Rex to be Anakin's clone liaison, Anakin divided the 501st into the 332nd which is a division Company of the 501st, as a regiment the 501st have been divided into multiple companies to further do complete mulitple objectives and split up missions that don't require that much force. The 501st was used to be called the "Torren Company" which was led by Captain Rex that he's in charge off, yes I know Commander Appo was the commander of the 501st but some reason he's still a Sergeant As a Brigade, they contain 4 Regiments, and 16 Batallions all are which command by commanders. It would make a lot more sense that the 332nd company is now Torren Company that was led by Captain Vaughn under the command of Commander Rex, since Torren Company was led by Captain Rex when he was still part of the 501st. You can look up into Geetsly's video of Commander Rex's promotion and the 332nd

We watched the entire series on Netflix in correct chronological story order years ago. You could see the slow, steady descent into hell. You knew what the outcome was going to be, and that's what made it a far worse tragedy. This hero, this great man you grew to like throughout the entire series, turns into a monster. His apprentice, who people didn't like originally, grew into one of the most beloved characters in all of Star Wars fandom, and you had to watch as those she trusted betrayed her when she needed them the most. This is what made The Clone Wars so great.

I loved the end of the Clones Wars series and continued to make us feel as when you watch this Rex and his men made the change as soon as they heard an old friend was returning as they were excited to see her again they were her friends and respected her enough to paint their helmets to show it and when order 66 went out it became one of the saddest moments as the soldiers that showed their appreciation for her with helmets colored like her begin to shoot at her and were determined to kill her while wearing the mark of their friendship. It’s just another sad story of the Clones turning on a Jedi they consider a friend against their wills .

Anyways the clones all follow Mandalorian culture which makes this scene hit SO much harder. Their armor is their face, not to mention the clones use their armor to differentiate themselves. Ouch.

Is it ever explained why Rex didn't modify his actual helmet that he then goes on to wear. I noticed it at the time and found it really weird that he has this modded helmet here, and then when we next see him in his helmet in the same scene, he's wearing his own helmet with the visor, but no orange (Jesse neither).

In Rebels Rex have his helmet with 501 colors so probably thats the reason they didnt think so far back then or because every important clone have his own armor so you can see who is who like Rex have his armor or Jesse, Fives, Hevy, Echo, commandor Cody etc they also customized their look grown beard, haircut, dyed hair like Rex did etc

What a wicked deed to put those wretched chips in their brains. The incredible relationship between these men and the Jedi, the loyalty, honour and courage is everything that's best. These men who've painted the tribal colours of Ashoka on their helmets they love her so much, would never have harmed her without those blasted chips.
