Ahsoka Review Season 1 Episode 6 where Disney decide Sabine is the new Star Wars and doesn't care how long we have to suffer through watching it. We're used to the main character not being in their own show in Disney shows, but I never thought they'd do it to Ahsoka for Sabine. Now I'm not sure how an episode where so little happens, turned into a review video that was so long. But it really turned into a random diatribe of me trying to survive just making up my own stories about the show. Now Thrawn does appear in this episode, disappointing as it turned out to be. A slouching dad bod with an apologetic voice and a plan that doesn't make sense? Must be Disney Star Wars Ahsoka! People keep saying watch all of Clone Wars and Rebels before the show. But nothing could safe this episode of Ahsoka. If this is being hailed as the best Disney Star Wars, it shows how low the IP has sunk. But what did you think of what you saw? Let me know your thoughts down below and as always, thanks for watching :)

Hey Disparu. I agree that the quality of the writing in Ashoka has been extremely poor, and certain plot elements fall flat. Sabine is irritating and the dialogue is dry but that’s not to say the show doesn’t also have its merits. I’m a big fan of Andor, as a more gritty, better written show, but Star Wars can just be fun as well. That’s how I’d describe the series. Light hearted fun. This episode in particular captured real sci fi fantasy worldbuilding and if you don’t get any joy in watching unique visual concepts over an excellent soundtrack in Star Wars then I think you’re analysing the show too harshly

Ezra sacrificed himself to defeat Thrawn and now Sabine has undone his sacrifice. It's exactly like in The Last Jedi, when Rose crashes into Fin's ship (which could have killed them both), to prevent him from sacrificing himself to save or at least buy precious time for the resistance. The nugget that stuck in my brain was the witches pointing out that Sabine (who has so little force ability she cant even move a cup) smelled like a Jedi, yet they react with seeming shock when its mentioned that Baylan used to be a Jedi....like wouldn't they be able to smell Jedi on the man who actually used to be one? Totally agree on that. In Rebels, Sabine was presented to us as a prodigy: accomplished artist, mechanical engineering genius and the best Mandalorian warrior to have ever existed...and all of the above by the age of 15... Also, she hardly ever lost a fight or failed a mission throughout the show, up to a degree where there was no more thrill or excitement about the outcome when Sabine was involved...We all knew we would get just another "Sabine victory"...This resulted in having a totally unrelatable (perfect in everything) and uninteresting (never fails/loses) character, who eventually became dislikable and even annoying...In "Ahsoka", the result is the same...She is again dislikable and annoying, but this time because of her absolute incompetence in everything she does and her "spoiled brat" behaviour. Looks like Filoni tried to "fix" this overskilled character he had created in Rebels, but he just "overcorrected" her into a total useless brat with serious attitude issues...

@neowild Жыл бұрын
I mean, the legends books are technically all fanfics yet people like them. If anything Filoni is actually more justified since he was an apprentice of George Lucas more or less. Take that as the situation being better or worse. Disparu has criticized him for "telling and not showing" but most of the remarks I have seen agreeing to Disparu's critics come from people seeing and not understanding what they have been shown... Another thing people don't realize is Dave Filoni understands how to manipulate audience perceptions of characters. He made the character of Ashoka and made her unlikeable when she was introduced on purpose. If you pay attention something similar is happening in this show as Ashoka demonstrates more emotion at the end of episode 5. I think the rest of this season will make this point. Is this the best show ever, not exactly, but it is pretty good by starwars standards (pre-sequel trilogy) people forget that the original trilogy wasn't exactly all that story wise XD

Well Ep 6 confirmed what an awful person Sabine is! Yelling at her Dourse (Dog+Horse?) for abandoning her? What was it supposed to do? it can't fight! And she abandoned and betrayed her Master twice! And the Dourse did come back. Is it hard for Dave Filloni to write an emotional scene that isn't about anger? Sabine spends years pining over Ezra, but when she's in the camp of the hermit crabs she doesn't call out for him, and when he does see her and say something, both are like "Hey, hows it going?" No running to each other, no happy hugs, just unemotional blandness. Even Luke kissed his sister! And when Ezra asks how she got there, she says 'Not now, I'm happy now." That is happiness? Bland, repressed, uncommitted nothing for Dave is happiness? And how are the crabs wearing clothes? They have a permanent shell (the baby had one)! And where to they get/make the cloth? And what has Thrawn been fighting on this planet or in this Galaxy because the stormtrooper's armor is beaten up. Baylan is Great! best episode so far though

They're supposed to be long-lost lovers, or at least friends separated across two separate galaxies! They should have been ecstatic to see each other, especially Sabine, who apparently betrayed her morals to find him (again, I haven't seen Rebels, so I have no clue what her morals are, if she has any)! This was a shite reunion, even with the barest knowledge I have of these two. There should have been a heartfelt moment, where they catch sight of each other, pause for several seconds (not that this show needs more empty air time) as if they're unsure of what they're seeing and it's really them, before rushing each other and embracing. Maybe have some of that sappy and clichéd sad/happy music playing as they do. It's clichéd as hell, and done a million times, but at least it portrays the emotion of a long-desired reunion!

In the power vacuum left behind by the Empire's collapse, Thrawn was the one Magnificent Bastard with proven track record, legitimacy, and sheer 'je ne sais quoi' to unite not only the fragmented fleets of the Imperial Remnants, but tempt a number of former Imperial worlds into defecting away from the NR. This clown just kept stroking his ego as he got repeatedly outplayed by the Scooby Gang before getting punked by Space Whales. And that was 10 years ago! Nightsisters would sometimes take on tasks off world to earn credits for the clan, being bounty hunters, assassins or body guards.

@datho1488 I guess what I mean is that palpatine secretly controlled and governed the separatist faction in the same way he would the coming empire and they acted as the antithesis to the republic the same way the empire did to the rebellion.

"Just wave the sticks around, we'll fix it in post." - D. Filoni Thrawn is supposed to be a disciplined threat, but looks like he found a great donut shop.

It's hard to decide which was better to watch-I'm leaning towards Kenny.

The entire episode felt like the plot was 2 sentences. They meet Thrawn and Sabine finds Ezra. The rest was fluff to pad the runtime. Is that what we consider now as modern TV?

This is great. This is a million times more entertaining than the show itself!

It looks like in the Sabine fight she's making blocking moves and they "kinda forgot" to put the laser effects in...

25:55 I wanted to try and be neutral when going through this episode. Then they gave her weapons. Why do they care if there prisoner is safe? Why are they so nice?
@sayLeotardbutsayitChinese Жыл бұрын
Because the writers are incompetent pussbags who can't bring themselves to hurt their cherished characters or figure out how to make action occur naturally

To give her a false sense of security? Nah, I'm giving them too much credit.

Because she is nothing without her weapons and armor. Imagine having to write a character that uses intelligence to get out of tough situations. Oh, and physicality, which she has none.
