Agreed, I never miss a video. I watched plenty on KZbin and this amazing craftsmanship is by far the best. I learn a lot for my miniature work, for example I purchased tiny clips to hold to together wood pieces freshly glued or steam wood to bend it. Small things but these videos are so inspiring.

Watching a real cabinet maker work with real wood (versus fake wood) and all the machines he needs to reproduce what was all made by hand 100 years ago is a real eye opener. The piece was not cheap when it was new, therefore it has lasted this long. Most of us will only ever see something this fine on a KZbin video. Thank You for sharing this amazing video with us.

Ahti, I was wondering what big job you were working on because you have not posted a video for a while. This is definitely a fantastic magnum opus. What really impressed me was not only your skill and creativity, which is apparent in everything you do, but also your knowledge of the original construction methods which allowed you to build the entire bottom of the cabinet in a period-compatible way. That is a beautiful work of art. When watching people repair items you kind of forget that they must know and be able to do all the knowledge that the original maker had. I had forgotten all the different wood joints and how to make. My grandfather would not be impressed with me at all. He would have been able to spend a happy time with you talking wood. He loved wood. Thank you for showing us this. As I said, it is beautiful and it will bring its owner many years of pleasure.

Watching these restorations makes me need to step up my game in refinishing. This morning I will be pulling apart a piece I thought was 'good enough' and going over it with a fine tooth comb to correct any issue I find. Thanks for the inspiration to get better.

I have seen paintings restored where such a large part is missing that it is impossible to fill in. In such case they try to find out information about the artist, look for copies, look for similar work by the artist to ascertain what should be in the missing area. This wizard of wood looked at the upper cabinet and pulled the design out his head and heart. Bravo!!!

What a Beautiful Beast! It's lovely but so large. I don't know if there's a modern home that it would look good in. Maybe something Gothic.
