I don't know the name of the piece or the artist playing, but nonetheless a ney flute tune set alongside a variety of ancient Persian/Zoroastrian imagery. Best viewed full-screen and in 1080p.

What a beautiful video! This old American who always apologizes to Iranians for his corrupt government, fell in love with Persian culture years ago. In fact, I'm re-reading Mary Boyce's book Zoroastrians: Their Religious Beliefs and Practices. And, I recently downloaded Irach J.S. Taraporewala's The Divine Songs of Zarathushtra. Besides the constant moral and cosmic battle between Good (Ahura Mazda) and Evil (Ahriman) which I believe in, I'm especially attracted to the emphasis on taking care of the earth. My dearest hope is to visit Iran and go to Yazd to see the fire temple there before I get too old to travel. Thank you for this inspiring experience.

What if Iran rises from its ashes. Islam has been like a sticky fungi on the face of Persian history. One of the best way to percept the time as a phenomenon is studying Persian history. Even studying early thousands years would take a huge amount of time. Their music mostly traces back to Sassanid era 1800 years ago. They have some historical features and ancient legends like Bârbad and Bâmshâd who played music for Sassanid shahs and invented many aspects of today Persian classical music. Chinese and Indian history recall their names as well.
