I could not agree more with uma'Phumzile when she says she's happy to be interviewed by a youngster. Imboni always teaches us about the importance of youth involvement in Spiritual aspects,so the future of Afrika is great hands because as the Youth we able to carry what has been planted to grow even bigger. I also liked on how she had stated that wearing African garments is Spiritual.I remember when Imboni taught us that our forefathers were so fearless and powerful in such a way that they rode Lions,Leopards and so forth because they had deeper connections with animals in a Spiritual way/form because they knew what those animals represented in a Spiritual aspect . The more we realize as Afikans that everything about us is Spiritual is the more we understand and appreciate our true selves. Zulu

Beautiful, beautiful job, AHV. This podcast was very insightful, especially to the youth on the point that clothing is spiritual and it tells people who we are. It has definitely opened my eyes and is making me think deeply about how I express myself spiritually through my clothing as an African. This podcast needs to reach more screens. Thank you , and keep up the good work. We are indeed unlearning to relearn. These episodes need to be longer🩵

Nice episodes I would’ve loved to hear if she ended up knowing where our “traditional attires” come from and discuss that at a deeper level. Also, who controls fashion according to her, who determines whats fashionable and when because one outfit could be rejected at some point and found fashionable probably after a decade. Is it people changing or is it because of marketing?

Thomas Sankara speaking to other heads of State in the OAU: "I'm the only one hear wearing a pair of shoes made by my own people , leather from cows grown by my own people, tanned and processed in my own country. You are wearing shoes from France and shirts from Belgium. You could change the economy of your country if you made your own clothes and ate the food you grow and developed your economy based on self-reliance. Thomas Sankara, The Upright Man

Shaped how I view fashion from now on. Most of the high end fashion designers are men from different communities in society. Even the run ways are full of clothes that reflect nudity which left me with questions whether it was their way of trying to normalize their sexuality. It might look funny seeing abo Doja Cat nabo Janelle Monae pulling stunts kuma red carpet. Kodwa it shapes the future and how people will dress ngoba bakhona who will follow. I would also love to see a blend of cultures in our fashion without fighting one another. That can only happen if we learn the STORY behind the attire and match with similar stories from other cultures. Great informative episode
