Jason, I understand that you have serious ethical considerations about the use of AI. But I think it would be a lot more productive to lead with your analysis of each product first before just defaulting to the ethical considerations. It feels like every time Sunny demo's a product, he is excited to hear what you think of the product, only for you to jump to how its unethical or unsafe. Not saying those considerations shouldn't be voiced at all, it just feels like the product functionalities are what should be focused on first when it comes to demoing.

Disagree. You can't throw away safety for fear of sounding ethical. There is root safety concerns here Similar to Rabbitr1 Granting a cloud service automatic access to your personal data, even to Google or Apple , let alone bad actors like ClosedAI We must know what controls and recourses are in place. It may not be important when you are asking for random 80s trivia But the stakes are raised when AI are going to act based on personal information

@@boonkiathan I never said he should "throw away safety". I just wish he didn't lead with it every single time. These are product demos, and I am just asking if it would be possible for him to lead with product feedback first, and then he can talk about safety after that. It breaks the flow between the hosts when one is in product mode, and the other is in ethics mode.

35:30 the uber vehicle with the fattali had Lidar, cruse vehicle with Lidar collided with a truck or bus (one or the two) There are many subsystems interacting

I feel we need even more programmers because of AI. But do we even need more programs? Most Enterprise software solving workflow problems are nothing but glorified Google spreadsheets

What about americans really loving their own car, their own space? Self-driving tech will probably become mandatory like seat belts. Thus, robotaxi would mainly target urban downtowns, college campus, air travel, tourism, bar hoppers, those without license, those that deem it cheaper to rovotaxi rather than pay for gas/insurance, those that have just one car in the family.

how is the lidar gonna stop the car from fatally misinterpreting some situation. Why not improve the camera pixel density or camera placement? Humans can drive with just cameras (eyes) without accident. if they crash, eyes will often not be the issue but bad behavior which car does not have. Sunny, how many lives will we sacrifice by not implementing autonomous driving because lidars are two expensive for scale? Teslas are already safer than humans with FSD on. Also what do you do with your lidar when it's foggy?
