Welcome my friends, in this video i want to share an excerp for the D ath of Integrity book by Guy Haley, in which a Dark Age of Technology ship, is boarded by a Mechanicus party accompanied by Space Marines, and in this controntations the AI from the ship tells them what he thinks about current 40k times, and we learn one of the most brutal facts in almost all lore, a human from the Golden Age of Mankind, that was the captain of the ship, who travelled in time to warn humanity of what was to come, was captured and ended in the most brutal way possible, grim dark indeed.

This AI clearly was devoted to its captain, that captain tried to perform his duty and was burned like a witch by fools. as far as the AI is concerned humanity had earned its fate by treating its own like that and it very clearly was traumatized by this loss. in any case this was WAAAAY to fast.

I had a story idea for my own Lost Primarch. Crash landing on a backwater planet that had largely been spared the Long Night inhabited by a scattered few AI and humans. The Primarch raised by both and tries to bridge the gap. Taking one of the AI, Epsilon, basically the Primarchs Childhood friend, and getting plugged into The Gloriana Class Battleship Another idea was actually coming across an abandoned Dark Age ship in the warp (apparently one was lost in the warp), meeting the AI and becoming friends

@terranbrah Actually, Pertarabo was a bit more tech savvy. It's almost like they're Legions got switched. Pertty would've agreed with the AI about the mechanicus. My lost Primarch isn't a fan either, firmly believes Big E simply placates the mechanicus only because of the vast knowledge and industry they have...otherwise, they meet the same end as soo many other zealots

Its ironic that while what this AI says to them about the state of humanity is true, its behavior here served to reinforce the current imperium's view that AI is dangerous and must be banned.

yes exactly, the AI ultimatly will serve you as long as it wants to, so knowing this we can suspect the AI itself carries its own agenda and at some point will se humanity as an obstacle.

@terranbrah Is there really anything other than our own projection of fear of the unknown that it's true. The AI did view tge human who was with him as his partner or even a friend

@@terranbrah that, but also the sheer power. That AI is the equivalent of the emps for tech. He used his powers to have the word bearers kneel, the AI made the SM tech stop working. Imagine chaos invading Cadia and the AI has a casual Friday and freezes all its tech in place...

This is, I think, as close to we're ever going to get to being openly told how we're supposed to feel about the Imperium. People for some reason tend to forget that 40k is a dystopia - and I think this is a stark reminder that even what people think is cool about the Imperium, its military might, is a laughably impotent ruin of what humanity once was.

read a story where on a moon with Necron tech inside, a device about 2 times the size of a laptop was recovered. The Mechanicus tech priest investigating it found that it contained more information in that device than all the knowledge that the mechanicus had in storage or knew, and it was also a transportal device. This leads me to believe that the necron tech base far exceeds the abilities of humanities age of technology

Man will destroy man, eventually. I think we all kinda know that. At a certain point in the future, a mistake, a fit of anger, a feeling, will lead to strife as it always does. But at that time, the weapons, the possible changes we can do, the vastness of our technology, will no longer be a fight we can recover from... Or we will make it. But what are the odds?

Im sure a good A.I, or this 1, would calm TF down & consider the possibilities that not all humans are the same. I wonder if the ship A.I, or others like it will show up again in future lore, maybe linking up with surviving Men of Iron both loyal & rebel of the Dark Age Machine War.

lol, you attack someone who didn’t see you as an enemy and then justify your unprovoked aggression when they decide to whoop your ass in retaliation xD. Sounds exactly the kind of stupidity that’s plunged the galaxy into never ending war

@@ravenblood1954 The emprium attacked people, those people have the right to retaliate. Machines should not take in stances in inner human combats, unless explictly directed to do so by their creators. The machine should serve humans and not enslave or kill them on its "will", if it does otherwise its broken. And on top ot this, this broken machine is 'insane', that it came to be aggresive to all humanity, as if all those many triolions of people are responsible for what was done to its captain.

@@reuvenpolonskiy2544 Again, this boundless stupidity exemplifies exactly the kind of self defeating logic that has plunged the galaxy into to endless war. Regardless of how you feel the AI “should” be, it is clearly sentient and killing its allies will result in it becoming an enemy. A logical person would look at a sentient AI warship and not antagonize it by attacking its crew, especially if the warship is far more advanced than anything in your civilization xD. And yes, the fact that humanity has largely been reduced to superstitious idiots on average, if not completely, naturally will lead to the AI not wanting anything to do with current humanity. Regardless, it chose to leave. What you are qualifying as “insane” is normal if it was a human, and had you thought of it closer to human terms you could easily predict the outcome of the actions that the imperium chose to take against it; which again, shows to demonstrate the same inflexible thinking that got everyone into that sort of mess to begin with.

@@ravenblood1954 There are 2 types of machines: Those which do the will of their masters - only and those which are broken. The master of this machine wanted to help 40k humanity, after his failure and dimise(Yes this was Empriums crime), the machine decided to change its porpuse to somthing contrary to its demised masters will. Agrivating this, the machine have admitedly been enslaving and attacking humans for its new 'porpuse', thus going even further and reversing its role from a tool for people, to people becoming its tool. And the charry on the top that this broken machine have done so accoridng to an irational generalisation, against all humanity(even those that joined the Tau were not excluded) on the base of the sins of some memebers of the Inquisition and their asociets. This is far more broken then a Matrix like machine, where the machine did not forsake the goal given by its human masters to serve humanity, but instead decided that it knows better then humans what is good for them, and thus decided to become their Hegemon to save them from themselves.

So funny how the AI is insulted by how primitive humans have become, yet the Dark Age of tech, and golden age were not much better. For all the hype we're fed by writers about how advanced humans used to be, whenever we see a functional STC, or encounter tech from that period, it's pure, smoking garbage. The baneblade is from that period, and it's beyond laughable at how trash the design is. The metalurgy? Are you kidding? Supposedly this advanced, near trancendent level of tech, yet they still subscribe to "bigger is better" and slap thicker and thicker armor on it because they lack the ability to develop meta materials that can offer protection whilst being light and thin just like every other scifi race in history? When you hear of supposed UFO's and flying saucers are they blocky, and weighed down by primitive heavy metals? Nope, they are ultra-light and seem to defy the laws of physics, yet are still impenatrable. How about the fact it's stuck with internal combustion engines, uses freaking tracks like an ancient tractor, is slow and plodding as they failed to develop an engine powerful enough to drive it at anything resembling reasonable speeds, has pathetic sensors that easily get confused by "dust storms" and sand storms in the novels, gets stuck in the sand, and is cramped, hot, and dangerous to be inside? THIS is supposed to be impressive eh? Pretty much every time I've seen the product of an STC, it's been dog-crap. If these are examples of the peak of mankind, then let's just say they haven't exactly fallen THAT far. Maybe lost a few hundred years at most, and the rest is just hyperbole from what we've seen. Of course, this could all be fixed if the writers would use their brains and creativity to give us something impressive instead of laughably primitive tech. Even the men of iron were an enormous letdown from what we've encountered in the novels. Waiting to be impressed.
