I'm not against AI in its current stage and use, whether it's art, music, or videos, cause it can be funny, cool and helpful, but AI art is just a tool, using it to try and replace real artists would just be dumb and wrong, and its hard for me to imagine someone genuinely trying to achieve that (tho I do know that they are constantly trying to push AI's limits further and further, and at a creepy rate at that)

@@Axeeco there are people who genuinely believe that they are true artists with AI. I also agree with it being a tool, like using it for references, memes or something similar. Asmongold had the shittyest opinion on it saying “How does effort decide if you’re an artist” (I’m paraphrasing a bit). We also had Shad considering himself an artist. He can draw better than the average person but he doesn’t enjoy it and has since given it up for AI. He genuinely believes it takes the same effort to type words in a box as to using traditional and digital methods. At the current state real art is still superior and that’s because the imperfections give character as well A’s balancing detail . AI hasn’t stolen enough information to understand that yet but people have already jumped on the bandwagon. People who want to create but don’t want to put in the effort to learn.

It's nothing remarkable and it doesn't mean it was anything close to "conscious". If an AI was actually built to do a job, it would do that job with no desire to do anything else. @@bimates2690 Vocaloids and the like are not frowned upon, because they are their own niche, and do not pose any threat to human singers. If AI generated imagery stayed in the same place it was in 2022 which is mostly memes and joke videos, people wouldn't be panicking. Now I do think said panicking is overkill, but some people have genuinely experienced their own career being threatened because of AI, so I am in no place to really judge that. Once I can enter the art industry myself, then I could form an informed opinion on the effect on the industry.
