For me, the biggest issue behind AI is the dark forestification of the internet, where you're constantly looking over your shoulder, wondering if what you are interested in is actually a scam and where spaces are just there to funnel your attention to other spaces. I want to interact and learn from other humans.

I read somewhere (Reddit, maybe, so take it with a grain of salt) that AI’s current hallucinations may not be a temporary problem. Apparently the weird AI artifacting in both images and speech is almost integral to the process. I’ve been operating under the assumption that AI is on an inevitable trajectory toward being indistinguishable from reality, and that’s been terrifying, but it may not be the case. At least, not with this iteration of the tools. So MAYBE, just maybe, the internet will stay a dark forest where you have to look closely, but not a pitch black forest where it’s impossible to tell at all. Seems like a sad thing to hope for, but here I am.

Would you give ChatGPT a mention in the rulebook? Imagine if someone else was with you full time to bounce ideas off of, wouldn’t you include them in the rulebook. This is what I don’t agree with. Using AI should at least be mentioned in the rulebook when designing games.

It needs to be plastered all over everything if it’s used. A crowdfunding campaign shouldn’t hide it at the bottom of the page, it should be listed right after the designer in the rulebook, etc. I think there’s gotta be a clear delineation between people who design games au naturale and folks who use AI tools.
