Great video! -As we've seen in aviation, pilots regularly use autopilot as a tool in their jobs and it has not replaced them. -As AI is developed by software companies, are patients going to be at the mercy of software updates, bugs, etc? As we saw with the Boeing 737 max incident, private companies have financial and corporate incentives to roll out software that might not be the safest. -Self-driving cars were supposed to be on the road 2 years ago, now tech companies are seeing that its not as easy as they thought to do something that humans find relatively simple. -As far as ground truth labeled data, not only can two similar images mean two different things. Two radiologists can disagree about the same image as well.

If radiology aided with AI becomes too easy to use, there is no reason a physican (or any other practicing doctor) could not use it to make a precise diagnosis by himself, and wait for a report from radiologist. So, definitely the need of radiologists to make a diagnosis for other practicing doctors is going to reduce. Going by your logic, AI is going to optimize the work definitely, but of treating doctor, and so the services of a radiologist won't be required. It's not a competition between radiologist and AI, but between radiologist and Treating doctor aided with AI.

Within 04 to 05 most machines will report automatically.. only in case of doubt the clinicians will take the opinion of radilogists.

Hello Dr. Gupta! Great video just as the others that I have seen. I think AI and Machine Learning is probably in the minds of every aspiring radiologists and some are understandably worried because of what has been said in recent years. As others have said, I also believe that is not about whether AI is going to replace radiologist, but more about radiologist who learn to use AI will probably replace those who don't. Regardless, I think that for all the reasons you mentioned and more, it is going to take many years before we really start to see the impact of AI in radiology. In my opinion, I believe that it is here to help and not replace. Thanks for sharing!

What are the best online courses available for AI in radiology ?

AI will make radiology services more accessible to all. The aim is to decrease the workload of Radiologist, make the scanning procedures more ease and produce standard reproducible images. If AI could do minor works like reading radiography images, it will improve radiology service to the patient. Similary, Radiologist must work with these AI researchers to improve radiology services

I have a problem with your understanding of this topic. It's evident that you're not discussing your expertise, but it seems you lack knowledge in AI and computer science. Radiology would be one of the first areas affected. I'm sorry, but I find your confidence in discussing AI to be a prime example of the Dunning-Kruger effect. As a doctor, you should have a better understanding, even if you have an MD not a PhD.
