Couple years ago when China hosted the olympics, they had this big display of a bunch of drones making pretty patterns in the sky, and I was thinking to myself how terrifying a military display that was.

I believe the Constellation in Baltimore harbor is the oldest naval vessel still afloat
@janerkenbrack3373
@janerkenbrack3373 7 ай бұрын
The Constellation in Baltimore was built in the 1850s. It replaced one built in 1797, which no longer exists. But even if it were the same, it is a museum ship, and no longer an active naval vessel. Which, by the way, the USS Constitution is. It remains a commissioned naval vessel with active duty military in charge of the ship. This detail makes it easy to validate the claim of oldest military vessel afloat.

I see news articles about AI being downplayed from various people but then whenever it's people in the military, there is more concerns being voiced. And we all know, whatever civilians have access to, the military had it first and it now considered obsolete by their standards. So, yeah I bet there is some seriousls powerful tech equipment being used in the military that they have to keep top secret because the level of power they weild might be too worrying for the general public to be made privy to.

Since the military and the media miss report it or dismiss it’s existence many have come to the conclusion that they are operating it. These weapons are so horrible and vicious I can’t bring myself to think it’s our military. Possibly a rouge faction but not the regular command and control. We need to keep AI out of military applications and keep combat as human as possible so that when those body bags and caskets start coming home it forces to question the use and purpose of it instead of just doubling down in aggressiveness because our drone tank numbers or airplanes are dwindling. The only entities benefitting from the use of AI and drones in combat is the defense industry and the numerous corporations that feed Uncle Sam inside the beltway.

Saying the AI/robotics revolution adapted to warfare is like going from the USS Constitution to Nimitz in 15 years is a great understatement. The change to robotic, self-determining AI battle forces is like going from the invention of the wheel to USS Nimitz in 15 years. We still have training wheels on our bicycles...and we wanna make automated AI war machines. Humanity is so self-serving, this can't last. Someone will create a dysfunctional AI system that determines we are inferior, too destructive and eliminate us like we did to previous humanoid species.

Well, can you actually say that the machines would be wrong in deciding to remove us from the equation, when you see the state of the planet these days? It's not especially inspiring at the moment. What a pity...
