You may agree or disagree with me I am just here to talk about Ai Because i know it will be our future I Know you people wont watch the full video or even worse you will see the TITLES READ THE TITLE OF THE CHAPTER AND NOT SEE THE CONTENT because you refuse to engage with anything. I commissioned 7 artists paying 780$ to get a holding place for a piece on all of them and 1 artist reached back out. I love human art deeply. even with the people that stood me up and took my money. People are greedy and exploit tools all the time and not everyone is a good person. Watch the video before assuming my opinion on anything because not watching this EVEN AT 2x speed and thinking you know all my thoughts is childish and strange. I Have nothing else to add. A.I art becomes meaningless trash when there is not any meaning behind it When the ai thinks, acts, works like we do, when it can make the issues we make and can improve on them on an individial, personal level, the moment it puts itself onto a canvas, not a database of colours and shapes into a png, then it has made art AI art is currently surface level, it has no meaning, no soul, that one brush stroke in the bottom left corner wasnt thought of, it was just statistically most likely for the image its currently making. And i think that means its bad, it does not think of its own creation, it just meaninglessly creates, there's no goal than to fulfill a purpose imposed on it in the moment This is barely connected to the video, its just a personal take. Enjoy the video, everyone reading this.

AI from a programmers perspective, is also on the verge of death. Just saying. Current models have poisoned themselves so much, and are limited far more than more people realize, and will simply never be adequate enough for what people want ai to do. what we have for AI now, isn't really "AI". It barely even skims the surface of it lol.

Another reason I think AI is so surface level at the moment is the fact that it cannot sacrifice anything. Any and all humans have to make sacrifices in their life. The sacrifice--whatever that may be--that an artist has to do to create art, in my opinion, is what gives the art piece value. The hours I have to put in to make my pieces make me appreciate them more, at the very least. AI will never have to sacrifice time to create art, not will it ever experience any situation that involves sacrifice that might inspire art in the first place. That's why it's not on the same level as human art, and most likely never will be. After all, why would we code AI to experience a situation where it has to sacrifice something? Sorry if what I'm saying doesn't make sense, as I'm not very good at putting thoughts into words. Still, I hope I'm providing another idea to the conversation at hand. Have a good day!

@@Cherribowbow fr! No emotion and art needs emotion. It just can’t make it the same, without it. I understand you perfectly fine. You did great. I feel you. It just doesn’t feel the same without imagining what the artist goes through to make their piece and or why. That’s literally the whole basis of art.

I think the whole conceit of this video comes from an inaccurate, over-humanization of artificial language models. I am only about twenty minutes in, so these thoughts will be abridged, but I've already noticed that most of your pro-AI art arguments rely on pathos, and comparing our current struggles with generative artificial intelligence to pieces of media, Detroit: Become Human being the first major example. The problem with this is, artificial intelligence as it exists today is inarguably non-sentient. The entire conceit of media like Detroit or Love Death and Robots is fanciful, a very science fictional take on what AI has the potential to be. The core meaning of art is in the making of it. Art has to be produced for its own sake, not driven by profit or fame or external demands or desires. I'm against the current capitalist integration of media in these giants like Disney or Sony for precisely that reason; art holds no artistic value if the drive does not beget itself. AI cannot feel that drive. It can only make things when commanded to, and thus what it makes is hollow. If there is ever a time where an artificial being can demonstrably, irrefutably demonstrate the same rich depth and artistic view of the world inherent to humankind (and I would argue, in a number of other species), that's a different conversation to be had. But to pretend the machines are budding prodigies with the same potential as human artists at this point in time is just facetious. To clarify: I believe in the potential of other types of AI, such as those used in manufacturing, medicine, and scientific research, far more than I do generative AI. Those fields exist, at their cores, to solve real-world problems, and AI in its current form can help with that to no end. But AI art is not truly art, and unless the machines suddenly spontaneously develop a soul, it never will be. I will add more thoughts as I keep watching the video.

Barely two minutes into the vid and my only question is how traumatised, isolated and misanthropic have we become as a society that we would prefer the company of machines to our fellow man? Support human art, have painful learning moments with real people and quit mistaking convience and comfort for societal longterm good. :7 - Just noticed the chapter "AI Helps With Loneliness" yIKES bruh talk about treating the symptom and ignoring the cause holy shit 💀

I also question why we as humans want to create something that will operate like a human. Once ai gets to the point that it can see the world in the same artistic, critical way that humans do, then what? Wouldn't that mean (in the far future) we have just created metal humans? I don't really see the pint of this endeavor in the long run. In the short term, it is a tool that can save people money, while simultaneously putting people out of jobs. In the long run, we have just created more physically durable humans. In the super long run, we've created super durable, and incredibly intelligent humans, so then what is the point of actual humans? There's also the argument that humans will be given ai parts, so ai and humans would become one instead of ai replacing humanity. But WHY? I just struggle to see the purpose in the long run. It seems cool in theory, but I feel like it would not really provide much in the long run and society would have the same issues but with more tech. I am probably simultaneously overthinking and underthinking this, but info about ai and its purpose is also very limited right now. I am so confused as to why people (normal people, not business owners) want this or what it would provide. I guess I do not really fear ai in the future. Similar to what someone else said, I fear the people in charge of it and their intentions. As long as ai is not forced on me, I am fine with it. I will continue to do the things I enjoy, as I believe those things cannot be taken away from me. I am an artist, and ai is replacing the art career. However, although I will struggle to profit off of art, I will still make it. I just probably won't sell as much of it, which is fine!! There are people who will still want to buy my art, and otherwise, I will get a job in another field I am interested in. The transition period from current world to a more ai driven world will be difficult as we figure out how to redo the economy (if people are all losing their jobs to ai, will we make new jobs, or remove the need to work all together? If we remove the need to work all together, will we get rid of currency too? How do we distribute goods at that point? Will everything be free and produced on request? What are the environmental impacts of that?). I feel that part of the joy of having things is the work put in to get it (to a degree!) But I think there will be other, non-necessities to work for that will fill that void. As long as I have the option to put in work/effort, (not necessarily for money, but for myself) I think I will be okay! AS LONG AS I HAVE THE OPTION, and that lack of an option is what I fear.

Hypothesis: To be “human” (as the subjective concept) is to be able to express yourself individually. Once ai is able to do that, despite its creators’ will or programming, then it will be “human”. Once they can understand pain and joy through experience, then they are connecting at a human level. They don’t need to be mortal per se, but to share in the pain of our aware consciousness. (Thought still baking)
@iamranch
@iamranch 16 күн бұрын
Trees are alive, but they are not human because they cannot express themselves in a way that is comprehensible to humans. Same applies to other animals without the same level of consciousness as us. For pets, we apply them with human characteristics because we think we understand their way of expressing their emotions and sometimes we do. Ai cannot be independent in the same way. I stopped caring about fallout npcs when I realized people wrote them to respond only In certain ways to certain actions, therefore unable to express themselves individually and therefore not “human”. It becomes more difficult to relate/communicate. They are a small expression of humanity through a humans skill in writing them, not an equal. I don’t know where this thought is going but I thought it was relevant

There's a dark beauty to evil... to destruction... as much as there's a pure... a good... nice.... however you choose to describe this opposite to the evil and destruction.... There's still a beauty. There's as much beauty in bad things as much as there is in things that are good. This video... is beautiful... thank you for making it and you're welcome in watching it. You are welcome i took my time and i thank you for the time you took to make it. Thats part of the beauty of it all. A forest fire can be seen as evil... or good, it matters not because its still beautiful to see the fire dance like we did as kids for bonfires and camping. Its just larger... the fire still dances the same and its beautiful. Yes it destroys everything around, but it kills the dying, the old, and makes room for new to grow and prosper... thats the beauty of good and evil.

I want this because I fear I'll never have a child, and if I do have one, I fear the fear I'd feel if I lost that child. An AI would face far less danger and live far longer than anything. I know it's wrong, not only to want an AI like that but to want to create something to live forever. Would the AI miss me after I die? Would it cry? Would it search for me? What about trauma? I made the AI, anything it goes through is because I selfishly created it. Yet, I still want to. I'm curious about what could happen.
