I’m just wondering. Is there any body who listen to our music if we just send it to a royalty free library, or it will be just the number 124.576 music file on a big server ? 😳

The thing about AI is would it be able to come up with a lyric such as in the recent stones song "Angry" that goes "I'm still taking the pills and I'm off to Brazil.

Many productions will NOT use AI generated songs because of law suits. My Sync agent I work with says HE WILL NEVER DEAL IN AI MUSIC.. When I have experimented and used AI to make a song , there are sometimes some good ideas in the song BUT I still would have to rip it apart and finish it off.. In the end HUMANS DECIDE IF SOMETHING IS GOOD OR NOT!! Humans are too easily bored and they can get used to anything computer generated REAL FAST!!

Yep. I had a library recently reject one of my tracks because it contained samples…. Once I stripped it back to almost just a guitar track which was played it was accepted… this validates what Daniel said recently about learning an instrument. People chanting comments like “your job is sadly gone” probably don’t even play. The same library by the way… have said they are using AI tools to help customers navigate their way through their site etc but in terms of music they definitely favour the human ear!

Never say never. There are famous musicians who, 20 years ago, claimed, for example, that they would never use active pickups because they were a dead sound. And today they no longer play through a tube, but using plug-ins and impulses. Time passes and everything changes.

They said the same thing about turn tables, samplers, keyboard workstations, drum machines,midi and music software. If you have a violin in your song and you didn’t play the violin, guess what? If you’re making beats or loops on your laptop or phone, using vst,,.. record companies and ad agencies are already embracing it. You can stand by and watch as it happens but ,it’s happening with or without you. Welcome to the future kids.

For those of about to embark on stock music licensing, are we at a disadvantage with the rise of AI?
@Dan-nu6piАй бұрын
It’s getting interesting with AI , Suno and Udio are now being sued by major record companies for training AI with copywrited music. Composing music with a prompt is just a scam and I hope it will die out quickly. In some cases AI is great, used as a tool to master for example, it can set a good starting point to build on. AI isn’t good or bad, it depends on what it’s used for and how it is used. I like watching your videos , it keeps me motivated in a sea full of content creators who tell you to give up because it’s oversaturated or AI will take over everything.

If you think about it, composing music with a prompt is not a scam. This sounds pretty boomer, reminds me of boomers that said things like "Deejays are not musicians", "making music with a computer is not making music", "who uses a computer to make music is not a musician/artist" because we're not using an "analogic" instrument. To those people, us producers who use plug-ins, DAW's, samples and stuff are cheaters. To use AI for music, and have some good results, you gotta have some music expertise. If someone who doesn't know anything about music puts a prompt, the outcome will be something awful. You have to know how to exactly put the prompt, and even after the prompted track is delivered, if you want to keep it you definitely will have to work on it. AI for now is only a tool to use just like many other that we use. I myself use it for voices, since I'm terrible at singing and I don't have money to pay singers, and I don't see anything that bad about it. These are tools that are given to us, and let's face it, AI is the future.

@@M.G.Records_it”boomer” 😂 wtf you talking about, first of all I’m not a boomer, second, what would my age have to do with my way of thinking about music? Music still isn’t putting words into a computer and then saying I made a song, I’m sorry you think that has anything to do with music. It is absolutely obvious that every song generated from Ai is as of today just a mash up of existing songs made by artists, Ai just got trained with them, that’s why major labels are going to court. As I said in my post before (that you don’t seem to have properly read) Ai can be great if used as a tool for certain things! Don’t start a discussion based on the age of ppl, it’s about the perception ppl have on music. It’s NOT making music if you put in words and a computer makes a song for you. I’m sorry but it has nothing to do with the process of making music at all. It’s like saying a book written by chat gpt is a real book because you swapped out a sentence here and there.

@@Dan-nu6pi I didn't mean to call YOU a boomer. I was just comparing your comment to many comments I heard from boomers in my years in music. I was born from musician boomer parents, and I have countless fights with my father about what's "real" music and "fake" music, he used to think that if you didn't pick an instrument you weren't making music, he was the type of guy that'd say that rap isn't music because rappers don't usually study solmizations and stuff... And the many comments I hear against AI made music sound to me just like that. Suno and Udio are now going to court because they trained their AI on existing music apparently without paying copyrights, that's all about it, and of course AI is based on humans and made by humans, it doesn't create itself (not yet at least). Personally, I still produce my own music by myself because I enjoy creating music piece by piece and see my creations come to life, but I don't see anything so evil and threatening in AI tools like many musicians brag.

Sure maybe you’re getting paid for now… but stock sites won’t be around for much longer. Pond5 have already taken composers songs and sold them off to AI. Get over it things are changing.
