I get that influencers need to make a living and sometimes have to accept sponsorships. However, the AI software you're promoting here doesn't align with professional storyboarding. It seems there's a misunderstanding about what "storyboarding" truly involves. Creating pretty pictures to convey a scene's mood isn't the same as storyboarding. For professionals, it's crucial to quickly capture the right perspective, camera position, angle, framing, object placement, and the relationships between subjects but also camera-movement etc. . A quick sketch is not only much faster but also more accurate and effective for team communication. If you want to learn how to create genuine, functional storyboards, check out the book "Parasite: A Graphic Novel in Storyboards" by Oscar-winner Bong Joon-Ho.

Storyboarding is just the act of visualizing your idea. That totally depends on what type of project you are making. There’s not a one fit all solution. This is just one tool to help you sketch that out, either for a pro creator like myself… or to communicate with others. Most pro filmmakers who pitch projects do it with other people’s video stills rather than sketching it. That’s who I think this helps. If you are good at drawing and want a specific perspective, great, do you. But I just rather make the film…

@@Jonnyvonwallstrom I don't want to ruffle any feathers here, but there's an important distinction to be made. Storyboarding is a specific technique in the film industry used to visualize shots, focusing mainly on framing, composition, camera angles, and movements. What you're referring to is creating images for mood boards, not storyboards. My point is simply that sketching out storyboards by hand is much faster and more acurate than using AI software. You don't need to draw like a pro-simple sketches will do just fine. For mood boards, sure, AI can be a good tool that safes time and money.

Thats just the traditional way of storyboarding. The problem with that is that I don’t think I’m the only one that is ridiculously bad at perspectives and drawing. So we’re left to storyboard our ideas in whatever way we can. And for those AI will simplify that process. Cause it’s not like we lack creative ideas or stories… Just like digital cameras democratized storytelling so does this. But yeah, if you can draw that fluidly, storyboarding is great as you describe it is great. I just don’t have that ability, I’m a photographer turned filmmaker. I have zero drawing skills. Still I work as a professional director and have been for over 20 years. That means having to deliver storyboards for clients. While I did draw one while making a film for Netflix I will admit it sucked balls… so here we are…

This should be free since we would be Feeding the AI with human scripts and evaluating they capacity of showing text in an artistic way

That would be awesome and probably the correct way to progress. Would probably speed up adoption as well. Might happen eventually though, cause I used to pay for Jasper.ai long before chatGPT was usable in any way. Now Jasper feels totally useless but it did help evolve ai prompts a lot

It is! Was in a vacation resort and no studio so background is AI then I put graphics on in canva. This is where I think AI works well. Usually I use it for mockup thumbnails to test variations out, then I shoot a picture from that

Will happen! But that’s gonna take so much time given how specific they are about logos and stuff! :)

Oh yeah! And if you try the motion in ltx you’ll see that AI still has a lot to improve before generating video that can replace filmmakers :) also I think ai won’t create personally unique stories anytime soon. Most feel the same if you don’t direct it, similar to bad filmmakers work of “art”

nah! already went and tried it, it wants to control your script, takes a long time to generate very little action and will resist if you want a unified race of people in your plot, god forbid you tell a story about colonial white american's it will toss in an Asian girl or brother randomly, AI is not ready to help real artist's yet IMO
