It's incredible how many people missed the point of this ending, and the game itself. The game NEVER took itself seriously, just look at the action scenes. Literally the best part about this game is that it mix an excellent story with goofy over the top scenarios not taking itself seriously, and this ending was the perfect way to emphasise and end it. Hitomi wasn't healed and this Isn't a dream sequence, the devs are not going to animate an entire new dance for one single character model. Seriously, stop over thinking this.

Dude, I was surprised at how low the rating of this game was, people complaining about the absurdity of the game. Damn game made me laugh more than any other comedy (mainly because I was expecting a super-serious game like ZE), and that’s why I consider this my favorite Uchikoshi game. I’ve never seen a game that mixes absurdity and seriousness in such a balanced and complementary way, and without ruining the plot or making a joke of itself. I feel like most people (especially reviewers) played just one ending (thinking it’s a standard “choose-your-ending” game) or were turned off by its bizarre nature. Either way, this game is a solid 10/10 imo.

Some people were expecting a very serious and depressing game, but the jokes and absurdity of some scenes balance well with the game imo, especially if you know Japanese because the jokes work well there with all the puns they make (except for the throwing magazine scenes which could have been replaced with better action sequences). From the first moment Date starts to make dirty jokes during serious moments, people should have realized that the game would be like that.

Kotaro Uchikoshi always finds a way to blow the doors off at the end of his games. At first I thought it was just gonna end with Aiba joining Iris in the dance, but then a surprise second verse outta nowhere as we go into a full-on Bollywood ending. Guy's gotta be the most underappreciated designer in the industry. His name should be at least as famous as Suda51, but designers don't get famous making visual novels (hence why Suda51 himself didn't really get big until Killer7 and especially No More Heroes). Same goes for Yoko Taro, though *his* issue is that up until Nier:Automata, the Drakengard/Nier metafranchise had some issues stemming from lack of polish leading to mixed reviews and lukewarm sales.

Okay this is a funny story and remember I am a 36 year old male, but when Iris first did the song and dance in Sunfish Pocket, I kind of rolled my eyes and said it was goofy and out of place. Now comes this ending and I was loving it, was totally awesome when Aiba joined in, but by the time Muzaki and the others joined in with their own verses I was cheering. I have now listened and sang with this song so much. Beautiful game, awesome ending.
