I just finished the game in such anticipation for this ending but it scared me even more than any horror game I've ever played. 10/10 would question my existance and would live in fear for my life just to replay this game as many times as I could.

Did she do this of her own “free will” or did the creators make this game just to send her to do something? Is this some experiment or the first step in some plan tied to fiction itself? If it is some plan, then is it malicious or is this to prepare for some cosmic threat the writers think is coming?

@@theheroneededwillette6964 The free will part is an interesting point. Crackpot theory here, but I could see her popping up in the next ZE game. There were too many ZE references to be a coincidence. Also, AI 1 was about the mind, 2 was about the body, I could see the next game being about the soul and the biggest group was Free the Soul.

@@SolarMoonWave … I do worry that there’s something bigger than that going on… I feel like the “why” for all this could be important. I don’t know, I’ve always had this weird feeling that maybe fiction was actually the wider Omniverse, unknowingly created/controlled by our world through some system we don’t know about. And that always makes me wonder what would happen if that system was broken and our creations were freed.

I'd would like to go further; what if this omniverse weaves itself bu the use of fiction? Such an awesome moment. I wonder if this was the "true" Nirvana Initiative; a plan to get Tokiko herself out of the fictional world since this paradox would have been the only thing strong enough to tear a hole in reality, and she appears on the screen at the end saying "plan...success". I really hope they expand on this more if they do an AI 3. The philosophical and buddhist undertones of the story made this so much better than AI 1. There's also the ARGs of both 1 and 2 to consider as well

The first game involve the mind of the person, the second game involve the body of the person, so likely the third and last game will involve the soul of the person which I wonder how the killing for that one going to work?

@@thewerewolflounge3109 i've kinda thought of some prediction that the third game's bizarre murder case would involved people having perfectly circular holes going through their bodies. Don't exactly know how it would relate to the soul of a person, but i guess it's food for thought. Also my logic for thinking bout this is cuz the second game nirvanA Initiative involves murdering people by cutting them into 𝘁𝘄𝗼 parts, so the third game could logically follow suit by having circular holes carved into people because the circle number, Pi, is equal to 𝟯.14

This game is extremely self aware sometimes. How the "voice" talks to the actual player (you) and it questions you on some things, I was confused at first until I realized this game and tokikos talk about a tear in reality is just about the game trying to be more present beyond the 4th wall.

When you think about it, we completely played into Tokiko's plan. Whenever she was talking about a plan, it was to achieve Moksha by herself, it wasn't related to the Nirvana Initiative. That's why she says "Plan success" at the end of the climax in the Resolution route.

What I love about this ending is that it recontexualizes tokiko as a character. Just how aware was she from the start? Given how she literally used the sans the skeleton trick of hey, Give a passkey to someone to confirm they are a time traveler trick. I'd say shes around there.

She actually reminds me of Stephen Hawking. There was an experiment he did in order to test if time traveling exists. He hosted a party but sent the invitations afterwards. Tokiko did a very similar trick. But she was so sure that the world is a simulation that she even offered her own life.

I finally have the game and I'm ready to play it ! You know what I'm most excited for once I finish playing the game ? Unlocking all routes. You see, back at the first game, after unlocking every route, I restarted the game and played bits of every route in a specific order in order to tailor my own story. It required a lot of my imagination and memory. But it was worth it then. It's going to be worth it now.

A comment pointed out the third game should be about the soul of a person. Based on this, I think it should be the new story. The new serial Killers's victims should appear with holes spread all across the body, with whatever is left of it being completely rotten. The method ? Somehow the killer absorbed the majority of the victims'mitochondria from the cells of the bodies. The people on the case are Bibi, Mizuki and Ryuki with their respective partners. But here's yet another strange detail. While a strange woman (Tokito) appears out of nowhere, causing strange phenomenons to happen in order to keep Bibi and Mizuki from getting to the truth (this is a test), Tokito pretty much gives the answers, even if in a cryptic way, to Ryiuki, as he's ready to reach Moksha. By the way, I think Shoma should return as an assistant to Pewter, having joined ABIS because just like the detectives, he feels something is wrong, because of all the nightmares he's been having. And I think Date's case should be trying to find out if this mysterious woman truly is the missing Tokito.

spoilers for zero escape series, especially zero time dilemma not quite sure about about this, but this flayer thing might be based upon "?", that was introduced in vlr and ztd, which i described to be a super powerful esper as well as shifter. this most likely is supposed to describe the player, who manipulated all time lines and shifted between them to get to each respective true ending of each game sorry about grammar and format, i wrote this comment at 3 am lol

Yeah, it's the player, same as those cases. It was also the case for Blickwinkel in Ever17. Uchikoshi does this in most of his series, just different contexts. This is the most 4th wall breaking.

Just finished the nil ending, and the only question I have is why we as the player (or Frayer) experienced a time line which was mixed up? Maybe this will get addressed in a third installment

We are the Frayer, and essentially their ‘God’... we control the outcome of their world and Tokiko knowing this, takes advantage of us by tricking us into breaking the code of the game. Similar to Daliha Boat, the Nil Number she gave us made it possible somehow to create a seam strong enough for Tokiko to rewrite the world and finally reach her true goal of escaping the realms of their fabricated world.

I have a gut feeling the answers are hidden in Tokiko’s monologues of concepts and theories from way back earlier in the story when you first met her... (The Butterfly Dream, Simulation Theory, Moksha, Etc)

This ending finally made me understand 100% the mindset behind a lesser evil for a greater good. At first, this transformation was scary. But after the adrenaline was gone and I kept my head on the objective...it was beautiful. I won't deny it felt a little wrong all of that happiness. Because I felt so lonely. But then Tama, Aiba, Mizuki and Bibi acknowledged the memories's authenticy...it made me feel better. Though Tokito's video makes me wonder. Was she asking which timeline it was true ? Or was she asking if the player is the character or the other way around ? Personally, Tokito was the character I related to most. That's why although I wished she was less selfish...I hope she finds what she was searching for. Although, maybe I should have denied her salvation. It should not be done so selfishly and so ruthlessly. At least I want to believe it shouldn't.

@@markgilberk6248 That is not completely accurate. I've seen some of that text be translated into coherent phrases that match the overall theme of the game. That text is left "untranslated" because they encoded it and possibly used characters from other languages to make it look corrupted.
