Tom makes the point about AI agents "not being scarce goods", but that's sort of like saying "companies aren't scarce goods, anyone can create them", ok that's true, but the point is all the stuff built by that company, its connections, data, assets, relationships etc. You could take two identical open source agents, do nothing with one, but let the other run, accumulate assets by making money, start collecting and building its own datasets, interacting and establishing reputation and trust with other agents etc, revenue streams and userbase etc, then paying for training itself with its own assets and datasets. Now which agent is worth more? That's what the token is for, ownership not just of the generic agent, but all the other value it can accumulate.

I'm amazed that no one in this podcast knows that AIXBT makes money because to access its terminal you need 60k $AIXBT tokens in your wallet. Terminal information is much more complete and nuanced than what it posts on Twitter.

I'm still not really getting it. Outside of highly targeted, well funded cases with expert oversight, just feels like giving agency of capital to some autonomous ml algo, is gonna lead to losses. Even if not instantly jail broken, feels like there's a reason I see it used more for prediction modeling than strategy execution, but maybe I am just super slow and it is viable. Like the idea of them, and it's driving volatility so if it doesn't work out at least it brought liquidity.

If you blindly trust the algo then yeah it prolly leads to losses. But like Jensen said, you can set your own preference in the infra (not the model) so ultimately you will still be making the decision. AI just makes it way quicker & easier

Agree with Tarun, on open source vs black box, in terms of battle testing and verifiable invulnerability. Foss has its issues but that is the pay off. Agree with Haseeb on the AI art, they all have that same glow and it's interesting how quickly it started to look cheap.

Brilliant podcast. High quality discussion with genius minds. The way I look at the AI thing is that there is a level of inevitability about it. No technological society can succeed, evolve, become interstellar and remain competitive without AI. Most of these UFOs/drones currently freaking us out are probably operated by AI to some degree. How does Tesla building a zillion cars a day? AI and robots. So it is already happening. We all have to accept at this stage that we are venturing into the unknown and will only confront future problems when we get there. That's just the way life is. We cannot anticipate every probable future outcome. It is a bit like having kids. How are you able to predict how they will turn out in life? You can't. You can only send them to school and try to raise them as responsibly as you can. And when you are done doing that, some will end up as doctors, musicians and lawyers while others will end up as prostitutes, drug dealers and thieves. You just don't know. The baddest bitch on only fans in the year 2050 is probably some toddler playing with her toys as I write this. And her parents and relatives have no idea what she will become. So yes AI is here to stay and we will confront the problems they will pose as they arise. Humans will lose jobs to these things. That's just a fact. So I guess it is up to us to start figuring out how we can be relevant and profitable when that happens.

AI agents can participate in industries where US citizens cannot. There are no laws preventing this.

That remains to be tested. If an AI agent acts on your behalf, I bet that you'll be held responsible for any laws it might be breaking. I'm not a lawyer so I'm trying to apply common sense. We know that the law and common sense can be very different.

@@MarcosDinnerstein You are clearly assuming that the agent is not a true autonomous agent. Think of it like AI to AI sales of goods and services, how will the government dictate? Then take it a step further, AI to non AI ecommerce in sectors banned for US citizens via their state laws, not federal laws. Now how will the government dictate to say a16zAI or Truth Terminal, or whatever bot that may have its own wallet, on how to spend its crypto? Will the IRS and the SEC run in on these bots?

Brilliant podcast, thanks guys. Jansen is on a different level of thinking, no offence intended guys. I see the possibilities Jansen sees, plus, breakthroughs in AI and chips from the last half of last year are going to start filtering into the mainstream shortly enabling fresh capabilities for AI and AI agents. Virtuals may not have all the answers but they’ve got into the party first by launching a platform for others to build and monetise agents. BasedAI have a solution for the privacy issue you discussed. I believe choosing the right investments during this bull run has the potential to create enormous wealth for huge numbers of people and that’s why we’re here watching, so like it or not this tech is already here and it’s here to stay and you don’t even need to fully understand the technical side to take advantage. Try your best to understand and invest in AI coins with utility attached, just don’t be like Tom who is going to regret his cynicism in the not too distant future. AI coins are about to explode this quarter imo. Good luck everybody. I’m excited for the future, this tech is mindblowingly revolutionary. LFG!
