Nice video bro. Also where do you get non copyright images of like anime’s and vintage images. I see clothing brands putting rappers and anime’s on tee shirts but won’t they get in trouble because of copyright??
@DesignedByWil
@DesignedByWil Жыл бұрын
This is the solution, you simply generate images of anime and people that don’t exist

most of these new brands that do this do it illegally with some exceptions like hypland that actually license the rights to print anime characters on merchandise. You can generate with AI like in the video but do note that any image generated from a text prompt cannot be copyrighted in certain countries like the US which means if another brand can generate the same image as you then they can legally print and sell the same design you generated. the proper way to do this and the only way i'd recommend is to actually get a license to an image of a person or character if you wanna avoid any headaches down the road if your brand actually grows (also note that by doing it the legal way you will be given guidelines on how these characters can be presented so there are limitations). AI is cool and all but if you want to build an actually sucessful brand, only use ai to take inspiration and then create your own or hire an actual graphic designer or artist to create designs using the ai generated stuff as inspiration. -clothing designer that's worked for brands that have actually licensed from big IPs like Coca-Cola, Rick and Morty, Disney, Dragonball, etc.

@@tgchavi6012 you’d be surprised. As someone who’s also worked with brands that have all those licences :) . Ai is a tool yes , use it in limit yes , use it for idea yes . But you are correct in saying to not just limiting your designs to ai alone because that simply won’t take you far . But the only down side is reference images , every brand uses the same image or references so design gets boring the introduction of ai has allowed us to have references and images to use in projects that have never been made before correct in saying you can’t copy right it in certain places . But like I said it’s a good base rather then just using the same licences library that every brand gets when they get a licence , as you’d know if you’ve worked with multiple licences

@@DesignedByWil 100% agree with you on that. Just wanted to emphasize the point since i see a lot of these new brands literally just printing what the ai generates (i like looking for new brands to shop from on clothing brand creator discords lol)

@@tgchavi6012 facts might make a video on it , but if you don’t have the skills to develop the ai it’s very easy to tell . Thanks for that talking point very important

Hey awesome video. How do you decide what to put on the front and what to put on the back? I really struggle with ideas for the other side usually.
@DesignedByWil
@DesignedByWil Жыл бұрын
I usually would do a full back piece, but I took reference from vintage WWE shirts, how they would have the black and white design on back and the colour on on front. to Save on design and print cost, but also maximise branding.
@dmdbrv
@dmdbrv Жыл бұрын
@@DesignedByWil Thank you! When you say a full back piece you mean a completely different design in the same theme as the front? If that's the case - do you follow any "rule of thumb" as to what would be on the front vs the back in terms of graphics and text, or is it based on how you feel at the moment for each particular design?

@@dmdbrv I have videos on designing full back and front designs all across the channel, but yes follow the theme and either expand or simplify for the back

Once you finished your design in photoshop do you then take it into illustrator and vector it for the tech pack? Or would you just send the PSD file for printing?

Depends what type of design if you done it photoshop don’t need to convert it , I have a whole video showing the process on getting designs ready and sent off for manufacturing ( how to make a tech pack full process )
