what he said about having a fixed formula and using it to the point where people would actually stop buying songs also applies to many of bollywood movies and the scripts written. scripts are not even written these days. they are either copied or as they say inspired from a hollywood movie or they will use the tried and tested formula and audiences are watching it blindfoldedly which is why movies are making 100 Crores even though very less thought went into it while Creating it and getting the pieces of it together. take the example of Raa One (SRK movie). the movie was made with such a huge budget. most of the budget I am guessing was spent on getting akon to sing a song and SRK'S heroic outfit. They are just not working religiously on scripts the way it was done in 80s or 90s.

Kabil did have item number music video like Haseeno Ka Deewana. jaby even realistic movie has item number song. any model or actress show their belly button, thighs, bikini, short short dress, booty shorts, booze or any thing has party light is consider item song. I really enjoy watching your reaction videos. However, I'd like to mention that I do not agree with your guest friend in this video. She was referring to two different types of songs and mixing them in the same category. There are item songs (Munni badnam hui, Sheela ki jawaani etc) and party songs (Party all Night, DJ wale babu, etc) Both these categories have great up beat music but the main difference is that the latter has a rap sequence. And these kind of songs stick with you mainly because of the rap. The lyrics in the rap deserve recognition because one who has grown up in India can actually relate to the meaning behind the lines. Artists like Honey Singh and Badshah have given a new dimension to Indian music in my opinion. You can't play a Classical Indian song in a party and it is because of these artists that we have our own party songs which, to me, is something to be proud of and not frowned upon.
