Thank you all for your support. It is appreciated. Beautiful song. She has a captivating soprano sound and this song fit it well. I learned later that this was another Igor Krutoy composition. Thank you, Maestro!

Hello Jeff. I have seen Aida for the first time singing with Dimash. She is so wonderfull singer and woman :-). Her voice is angelic. It seems to me that she has the same silky delicate quality in her voice. I like her very much! Thank you for your reaction!...P.S. and this song is beautifull!

First time I heard the song, I said the same thing, the last note was the one of the most incredible singing I have ever heard! I sometime repeat the last note over and over again, absolutely the best! She also did same thing with Casta Diva on the last note too. Emma Shapplin was my fav opera (operatic pop) singer for a long time, Aida now has replaced Emma, at least for me.

Hi. You talked about the lyrics in this song and how they are basically barely sensical (at least as far as I understood your sentiment). I'm not sure about any official translations or whatnot, so I've made my own, maybe it'll make more sense to you than whatever you've found prior. It's true that out of context literal translation would not be very coherent (since poetical writing often cuts corners to a point where it is difficult to translate without a good understanding of the language), but the same is true of great deal of classical poetry (which I reckon is no excuse here, however big the pretense might be), so I added commentary explaining what I think this is all about. Not claiming I'm right, of course. 1st verse: In the hour of inevitable dawn Arrived my spring, and me with the wind. (dawn in russian poetry is often used to describe spiritual and/or moral awakening, realization of something. Here it likely denotes awakening of the true self, young like the spring, light like the wind) And so with me the faithfulness of the female core shall reside. It alone kept me safe, And my candor adorned me ! (here lyrics use REALLY old word which was used among other meanings - to describe the process of... sophisticating traditional Russian female headdresses, which in culture, especially back in the day, were extremely meaningful for the character of the person wearing it, it wasn't just "bling") Like a faithful bird I'll tremble on the edge Alone in the lost Heaven. (this is probably about difficulty being awake to something while others are not) Chorus: Pride and humility - two threads woven tightly together in a beautiful pattern. (realization of the female nature) Infinity of stars shall embrace my shoulders so tenderly... Like the words of love, long parting and forgiveness - Since olden times till now. 2nd verse: To open the eyes towards the sun. To understand that everything lost shall be back. Through brightest blossoming - (the actual word used literally means "white as foam born of boiling pure water", but the meaning of the phrase is likely about the brightest blossoming as the epitome of a flower) Wisdom and enlightenment. (as a result of opening the eyes and understanding) And it'll smile so openly, And easily wake up from the evil of everyday life. (this is likely again about the faithfulness present in the core of every woman. Or maybe about the true self, its ability) And like a White bird I'll sing the entire song. (naturally the White bird is symbolic, historically and culturally the color white is a very russian color, but I won't go into why, It would take quite some time to explain just how important it really is. I kinda doubt the lyrics were tailored to convey exactly that, but partially - definitely. White bird symbolizes purity and light. In Russian the word for bird is also feminine, and in a sense White bird as a representation of female essence is also a representation of some sort of female divinity inherent in every woman) To hum and the edge of the sky. (this is either about the ability to hum it or about the inclination to do it, just in a poetic form of expression) Hope this helps you to understand the song better. ))) Also, I like the rendition of this song during the couple of Igor Krutoy jubilee concerts back from 2014 (You've probably seen that one, but if not, links below might pique your interest). Here's a link to that performance (a crop I found, not the entire concert): kzbin.info/www/bejne/n6O7en6jr96Lgc0 And another crop of that same concert (I say crop, but the video of the entire concert itself is a crop of two evenings, a common practice though I reckon), this time there are three songs following the White Bird. But boy, what great songs those are, the highlights of the entire concert for me, and I'm quite confident you'll enjoy them, names of the performers alone are a brand of quality (well, to me anyway). Songs are: 1. Deja vu - Performed by Aida Garifullina & Dmitriy Khvorostovskiy (also features one of the most beautiful sounding folk instruments there is - armenian duduk - performed by the most well-known duduk player - Djivan Gasparyan - and his son) 2. Canzonetta semplice - Performed by Sumi Jo & Dmitriy Khvorostovskiy. 3. Toi et moi - Performed by Lara Fabian & Dmitriy Khvorostovskiy. Here's the link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/g5aYgGOip8mha8U P. S. Since those songs are in Italian and French you probably don't need me translating them. ))) Anyway, hope you're doing well during these uncertain times. Have a great one!

@@ReactionsByJeff Ok, hi again. Little addendum in which I have to admit I, being a music lover that I am, find myself a bit ashamed. The translation a made was based on lyrics text I found in various places in the internet, but a certain part of the song near the end kept bothering me all while I was riding my bike to work today. So I've found as best audio and video quality recoding I could and listened closely while also reading lips. And sure enough, the text found in the internet is in parts utterly wrong and - again - I'm ashamed for having not being able to notice it. This is what differs: 1st verse: 2nd line: My soul shall disperse with light (meaning it'll spread its inner light around) 5th line: In it lies my just and strength (and by just I mean the state of being right and maybe righteous. So all that old word guesswork was a wishful thinking on my part, go figure) Chorus: 3rd line: Like the words of love, parting, duty and forgiveness (a slight difference, by really meaningful I think) 2nd verse: 3rd and 4th lines: Through brightest blossoming Through enlightenment of wisdom (in this way the sentence is complete because it tells how to open the eyes and how to understand - through blossoming and wise enlightenment - much more coherent) 5th line to end: And to smile so openly To easily wake up from oblivion And like a White bird her entire song To hum on the edge of the sky (so it seems to be the continuation of the previous sentiment written in infinitive. Also one thing to add - I write "like a White bird" but in Russian there are many different ways one compares and in this case it is more akin to "being a White bird", as if impersonating it, acting like one would). I'm really embarrassed. Changed blindness on my part. Or deafness for that matter. And it's not like Aida's pronounciation is bad or anything, it's actually quite crisp. Anyway, now that I've corrected my mistakes, I'll be signing off. Good luck.
