one tip, smaller surface deposits give a bonus on the hit that depletes it. Idk if the bonus is the same regardless of deposit size setting, but at 200% it is 50:2 (2000:80)+30 so 40 hits gives you a bonus 15 hits. worth of ore.

Well, I have started this seed ( EXACT NUMBER) 3X now and each time it is different when the ship stops. I have not seen the spot you are at when the ship says to jump off. I give up now because I cannot follow along. Sad...😒

Dont EVER hit any ore deposit for the love of Thoren, only attach drills or miners to those, if you need early ore, just dig and you'll find loads of veins. Hitting the deposits will damage them, and you want to preserve them as much as possible for mid game automation.
