A time lapse movie in UHD, 4K by MK timelapse GmbH, www.mktimelaps....
Witness the construction process of AIDA Cruises' new flagship in Nagasaki: AIDAprima, christened on the Elbe on Saturday the 7th of May 2016 during the Hamburg Hafengeburtstag (harbour birthday) festival.
Four MK timelapse camera systems were recording non-stop at the Koyagi Plant of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries to deliver the world's first cinematic quality time lapse film of a full cruise ship build.
The first piece of music is Space Canyon by tomh (audiojungle.net...)
The second is Progressive Technology by LumenMedia (leonvmusic@gmail.com)

Timelapses like this are one of the last few things that makes me proud of humanity. As always I especially love the christening and fireworks show being part of the timelapse, almost like it's just as essential in the construction as everything else. It's inspiring seeing the huge number of ships and crowds that come to see the ship you just witnessed being built in full.

The speed at which the ship was built is breathtaking. No, I'm not making jokes about the time lapse, ships much smaller than this used to take years to build. Thanks to modular construction, now even monsters like this one are built in a matter of a few months.

WWII revolutionized shipbuilding… At one point, America was able to build a Liberty ship, from the first keel plate to launching, in just 42 days. And then from there, Sweden revolutionized it yet again in the 1960s by perfecting the build style you see here.

@@Shepard_AU i already said it.. it's easier when you have specialised workers knowing their shit.. when someone is welding the front of the ship, someone is installing the engines, and others are doing the electrical installation, etc.. when the assembly finish you can paint and so on.. its all coming together easy.. but you know what's not easy? getting our shit together with everything else! As it grew up with everything fitting in its place, a structural engineer can appreciate where the resistance to hogging and sagging and twisting of such a large ship is coming from. I often appreciate the education of a nation and its long culture in people working together to produce such a magnificent complex craft. The developed mind takes hundred of years to consolidate the efforts of many people working on different items all for one aim. Most industrialised countries can do this team work ,but it seems that the main oil producing countries cannot. They seem, to be rich and like to won bought items and proud to be owners of bought items, but somehow they cannot achieve such teamwork to produce such magnificent grandeur in products. Most oil producing countries produce individuals and not a team that works together. Even the punishments in religions and laws seem to cater for nations who work as individuals and not teams work. To put it more simple, there are people in some nations who can sing together even in a football match but there are many others where their people do not work together as they just cannot get themselves to sing together, they seem to like being apart as individuals proud of what they bought and now own! That is not nation!

Que bela construção que foi feita para navegar em passeios pelo mundo...mesmo na velocidade da pra entender que uma obra dessa categoria e tecnologia tem que ter só gente de gabarito nesses estaleiros....

Absolutely FABULOUS! The amazing work of High IQ social structure. The construction precision, the timing, skills, machinery used, precise coordination of different works over time ... amazing and fabulous and great ...where in the world came the inventions from to build such a technical maritime super machine? Edit: BIG thanks to MK timelapse GmbH for showing us .. well done! + EU politicians couldn't figure out how to build this monumental giant with LEGO on a mini scale but ...it was done.. not by politicians.

I have worked at this shipyard, and indeed the process is very complicated. Mitsubishi makes the best quality, from welding, to the final painting. even though there was an incident (fire) that made his company suffered a big loss
