A time lapse movie in UHD, 4K by MK timelapse GmbH, www.mktimelaps....
Built at Meyer and Neptun Shipyards in Germany and Meyer Turku in Finland, AIDAnova is the first of a new generation of LNG Powered Cruise Ships for Carnival Cruises - the Helios Class. The vessel is 337m Long and can house 6.600 passengers.
We filmed the entire construction process with our advanced MK V4 timelapse cameras, shooting 40mp images every single minute.
The music has been composed for this video by sound artist Harry Price:
www.harryprice.co / @itsharryprice
Listen here: lnkfi.re/hpcon...
"It's been awesome soundtracking this time-lapse with Max and the MK timelapse team. Not only are they true pros in their field, and the nicest guys, but they pretty much gave me a free reign to create something that would complement the magnificence of the AIDAnova and the incredible build visuals. We couldn’t be happier with how it turned out - thanks guys!"

Even with computers the amount of hours just for a block(piece) is huge. I know because my wife is doing thins kind of work and she has days when she's spending minimum 10 hours for some piping, cables, ventilation and when you think you finished, are coming updates/changes from shipyard and you have to modify again. It's amazing to see the outcome after so many hours of work from a lot of people.

Absolutely incredible time lapse. The mixture of music and the step by step process of construction really reinforced the ingenuity of humanity. Just being able to witness a flat hull turn into a huge floating hotel is something special. I also love that the time lapse continues during the celebration and fireworks, as well as the maiden voyage. It somehow added to the awe of the whole process, as if celebrating the construction with fireworks and a band, and the maiden voyage, are just as essential to the construction as the rest of the video.

I have a mental breakdown trying to figure out how it's possible to come up with enough knowledge to build this monster to withstand billions of pressure, with trillions of wires running through everything like a brain and Central nervous system and lasting forever in the middle of an ocean struggling against twists, against sodium chloride (salt) and challenging the laws of resistance of materials. Sounds like inhuman technology to me. (sorry for my english)

These vessel are fitted with multiple propulsion engines due to the "Safe return to port" requirement (This vessel has 4 engines), that's why each engines doesn't developp that crazy amount of power. As a comparison, biggest container vessel (400m length, 65m width, 23000 container on board), have a single engine why can develop up to 80000 kW, around 105 000 bhp. What blows my mind is how these things are capable of staying upright. They look so incredibly top-heavy. Yeah, I know the engines are on the bottom, and the fuel tanks (which get lighter as they use fuel), but still the percentage of the ship that is under water is very little so it just looks like they would topple over as soon as they are floated.

@Zombie Sheep of the Apocalypse - Yes, I am familiar with ballast tanks. I also can see there isn't much room for them when you see this being built. Even if the entire bottom is filled with water it appears not to be enough. Of course they float well enough, so I am referring to how they APPEAR.

@@griffincontracting lol just because you know about ballast tanks doesn't mean you cant be blown away by the engineering and the impression of the ship.. I know why planes can fly but that doesnt make any less amazing, crazy and insane that a 300ton metal tube can cruise at 11 000 meters in the sky. stop trying to tell people how they should react

I get goosebumps thinking about the owner of the ship and their vision. I want to be like that to built something big, no matter the consequences or the profitability, just for the sake of business I just have to survive and not go bankrupt, I want to stand at the top of my creation and think about the things I have achieved and start again with how humble and down to the earth I have be again to built another one. I will be proud.

@@karadan100 this cruise ship uses liquified natural gas which means it should produces 25-30% less CO2, 80-95% less CO and NOx, and virtually 100% less SOx so in a summary, it’s significantly better for the environment compared to regular cruise ships. Only downsides are that LNG needs to be stored in a cryogenic tank and it’s more expensive than heavy fuel oil.
