Claire was a horrible person but this scene really showed she was evil. She clearly enjoyed killing him with that smile on her face. She then became no better than the prisoners. As others said, I'm just not sure how she got away with this in particular. She was not in the room for a few seconds. She would have had to instantly claim she discovered him dead. That was a huge goof in my opinion. The actress saved this scene for how well she played it. She played it evil yet added some humor to it.
