Lewis C. It's a "shit hole," yet you still watched and went the extra mile to comment. Let me guess, you just enjoy bitching and complaining. Let me ask you something, since you have so much to critique, what exactly are you doing to improve the "infrastructure" or the economy there??? I'll wait while you dig thru your receipts.... Meanwhile show a little respect for the natives and those who are from Haiti that live elsewhere...🤦🏾‍♀️ there's a way to express your opinion without being offensive to others...

I hate when Americans go to Haïti and don't even understand the language or the culture, I don't care if she is of Haïtian descent. This is not French we're speaking, blan is not JUST the color "white", blan means foreigner in Kreyòl. An African-American, an Asian, a Mexican are all "blan yo." We know you're color already.
@lisad2067
@lisad2067 8 жыл бұрын
that's not true blan means white. If you are light-skinned, they might call u blan as well, but they know ur not white, they know the difference. African-American are not considered as blan
@Lukeandsemone
@Lukeandsemone 8 жыл бұрын
That has not been our experience. That's true that people with white or light skin are called "blan", but from what we have gathered, "blan" is frequently used to refer to a foreigner (i.e. non-Haitian). If you are black, Haitians assume you are also Haitian. A lot of Haitians we meet who have never been to the US don't know that there are African-Americans--they assume that all black Americans are Haitians. But if they know you are a foreigner you are still called "blan" sometimes.

The yearly rent is just the local system. You can pay every six months too. Haitian people are used to the system, it's always been like that, nothing to do with trust. I'm fact there is a term for that it's called "Enfermmer" it's bi annually or annually. There is also. "Loyer" which is monthly. When you are renting you have to find out if the place is "à enfermmer" or à loyer.

To be honest...edit your writing/s and videos!! Have you gone to school in the U.S.? I don't understand anything you wrote!! You mentioned something about "every countries"...seriously "every countries?" Your attempt at writing the VERY first sentence....... I don't understand what you are trying to explain!! Are you purposely writing terribly incorrect grammar? R U H8ing???? Read this..Good Luck...I sincerely mean it! Thank you for the advice..I appreciate it. I will believe "WHATEVER" I wish. Instead of "What ever" I wish.... I will make no further attempt to reply to your h8ting comments. Sincerely..delllat!

+goldyempiremusic Yeah, I hear mixed reviews about if it was a good price. Some say yes, some say no. I know if we paid for the year we could have gotten something cheaper, but we couldn't afford that. Sometimes a good BLAN price is still not that good for what a Haitian could get... lol.

+Carolanne Tomsine Hey! We felt called to come here, and we want to help encourage and empower Haitians in both business and ministry. We started an organization called Home For The Nations that will be focused on these things, especially in the context of building relationships and developing communities. We're taking things super slow though to learn culture and language before we do too much. Thanks for asking!

@Lukeandsemone

Well, we knew God was calling us to go to other nations. Shortly after we got married God spoke Haiti to us. We had never been, but we pursued it and went two times for a short trip. We moved here last year, and God has been guiding us ever since.

1st of all, It’s not about Haitian do not trust Haitian so they make them pay yearly, it’s been like that before you even knew Haiti 2 I’m an American Haitian also, serving the USA, from the day I got here in the USA rental property is always 1st, last and security deposit, WHY ARE YOU ACTING LIKE YOU ARE JUST NEW TO THAT. I’m assuming your parents own a house, but you are a grown man, don’t act like Haiti is this and that. What are you doing there

We’ve rented many times in the US - we’ve never had to pay a last month’s rent up front in the areas we’ve lived in. There definitely are some differences.
