U.S. Air Force F-15 Strike Eagle pilots and crew members prepare and takeoff for a mission at an undisclosed location in Southeast Asia.
The McDonnell Douglas F-15 Eagle is an American twin-engine, all-weather tactical fighter aircraft designed by McDonnell Douglas (now Boeing) to gain and maintain air supremacy in aerial combat. It is among the most successful modern fighters, with over 100 victories and no losses in aerial combat.
The F-15 was originally envisioned as a pure air superiority aircraft. Its design included a secondary ground-attack capability that was largely unused. The aircraft design proved flexible enough that an all-weather strike derivative, the F-15E Strike Eagle, was later developed and entered service in 1989. The F-15 Eagle is expected to be in service with the U.S. Air Force past 2025. The F-15 production line is set to end in 2019, 47 years after the type's first flight. Folks, I love the mustaches and the headbands lol, badass Americans. They are pumped to fly. The weight comments are ironic coming from most of the viewers here who dont have the right stuff to even live this lifestyle. I know guys that size despite some girth are not only surprisingly healthy but have more stamina. These guys remind me of blue collar aviators. These are the guys you would probably want to fly alongside. Top Gun pretty fly boys are products of Hollywood. They got their staches, their bandanas, and their pistols are all ready to go. That is a G suit. These have iflatable air bladders in the calves,thighs,and abdomen that inflate like a blood pressure cuff when the aircraft pulls serious "G's". This keeps the pilot from losing consciousness due to the blood in his/her brain being pulled down toward their feet! The inflated air bladders keep the blood up where it belongs.

That bird was made the year after I joined the USAF in 87 and was the 174th made! We had the RF-4C recon Phantoms at my old base. Some (if not all) had seen action in Viet Nam.I can almost smell the JP-4 right now LOL!

Wow, if you only know what it takes to get where he is at today; and I dare say that most of you would not even qualify to walk into USAF or USN offices. I was stationed with these guys back in desert storm. Seymour Johnson AFB fighters, deployed to southern Saudi Arabia in 1991. Don't know if that is where this video was shot. But glad to see them still kicking ass and taking names.

As I understand it, the mustache was only allowed after a high degree of proficiency had been achieved. It became a sign and a source of pride that a pilot had earned this right to join the club. For younger and less hirsute drivers, there's a brisk trade in fake mustaches.🧐😐😏🛫🛩🛬🦅😎.

Someone asked why the second aircrew member in back. Well, tell you what. That second pair of eyes increases greatly the aircraft ability to engage the enemy on the ground and in the air. In Israeli F-15 D and I, that back seater often acquires the target before the front guy. He has first dibs on engagement of the targets he sees first. He allows the pilot (front seater) to fly the plane and be safe while the GIB (guy in back) concentrates on target acquisition and firing the weapons at that target. The increase in ability to kill targets is more than just 2x, given the two more eyes. It seems to be more of an exponential increase from pilots/gibs I have talked to.
