We had the privilege of seeing her final flight as the commander of the F-35 demo team at the Sanford Orlando Air Show at the end of October, 2023. Amazing performance. As she taxied in to show center at the conclusion of her flight, the airport fire department had 2 trucks positioned to provide a water arch in tribute as she taxied underneath. They also bought her family out to meet her as she climbed down from the cockpit, but not before her ground crew chased her around the aircraft, dousing her with water, or maybe “sparkling water” of some sort. My understanding is that this is a tradition in the USAF when a commander takes his or her last flight with the team. Godspeed Major Wolfe!

Thank you Kristin for your service! My father was a Navy pilot during the Korean war. He flew the F4U Corsairs off the USS Saipan. He was shot down twice but luckily for me and me brothers and sisters, he survived. We all served and were proud to do so. I wanted to be a pilot like my dad but my eyesight was just too bad and I was too short. This is what our great country is all about. Great people and patriots who are willing to sacrifice everything to defend our people and our country. I live in the greatest country on the face of the Earth and could not be more grateful.

My ex husband was in the Air Force for 23 years. 3 tours. 104th Fighter Wing. I can fly but just a single engine Cessna. Lol. I piloted a Piper double engine once. A friends plane ✈️. So fun. Doing pre flight checks even were fun. Your exterior plane check then the cockpit checklist. Communication with the tower. All of it is fun. I have film of me flying both from inside the plane and a friend filming my takeoff 🛫 and landing 🛬. It’s so freeing being up there.

Im impressed!! NO DEI here! My father was a jet mechanic in WWII and then became a private pilot. Went up in his Cessnas several times. I would always taxi down the runways and he taught me to takeoff into the air. Thats as far as I got.
